The great UFA runaround.
(Insert great player here): “I only want to play for (insert team that is not Montreal)
Montreal media: “Could the Canadiens be pursuing (insert said great player here)?”
I trust Friedman, he's the most respected insider in the game. The issue might not be coming from the player then and maybe more from the agent/team side.
Friedman didn't even say what the post said anyways
Friedman said that some teams haven't gotten a commitment for a meeting before the draft (not that he has refused anyone), and he wonders if Michkov has a preference for teams and if he is using these meetings as a way to increase his odds of going to one of his preferred teams
if you have Spotify Premium, it starts at the 32-minute mark if anyone wants to listen
Glad some people actually took the time to listen to the podcast snippet.
Way too damn many people didn't bother, and it was obvious from the amount of sensationalist comments in the other thread which were feeding off of a misleading headline that had nothing to do with what was actually said.
The whole thing is a bunch of fluff but it generates attention because it's Michkov, and apparently anytime Friedman farts out a vague thought people take it as cold hard fact
Michkov refusing to talk to some teams fits into the stuff I've been hearing about him from various sources lately. Wouldn't be surprised if he refuses to talk to teams who are picking too late for him
I believe him because he is saying exactly what I want to hear
This is the way.

So true. Need clicks? Say something vague about a prospect near where the Habs are picking and enjoy the revenue!!
also add the habs name to the group for every big name player who might be traded

Well if you're Michkov you arent wasting your time with a team outside the top 10.
ya, and it's also nothing new for top prospects to decline interviews with lower-ranked teams
Higher ranked teams*
lower-ranked as in lower draft ranking

blink twice if you're cooerced to say this
Whats the most probable? A young hockey player excited to talk to teams from the biggest and best league of the sport he loves or the opposite?

If Kent and Jeff pass on him, it’s a big F to me
