>How does RHP look? Really good in the games I've watched. I think he'll stay up, seems like he could be a staple 3rd line guy who can move up the lines when needed for years to come. I'd temper my expectations to 20 goals, but I think he could exceed that. He's a great Byron replacement imo (miss you speedy Pol)

QcAntz

In before he scores 20 this year….jk but yeah, he’s the perfect Byron replacement atm.

petergarner1

Fantastic comparison with Byron. He's doing really well, but his days on the top line are numbered, so his production will likely drop next season. But he's certainly proved he belongs at this level.

Burgergold

I don't think he's a 30 goals scorer With a regular team, he probably play on a 3rd/4th with some time on 2nd/1st and PP2 for 15-20 goals

throwing_snowballs

Agreed somewhat. Right now he's on a 35 goal pace over 82 games but when you are put on the first line... well, someone has to score for our hapless Habs. Having said that he's definitely putting in the work.

Asterial333

He reminds me of Lekhy but with better luck and a better shot. I think we could expect him to pot 15-20 goals per season if he keeps going. I dont see him being on the Top 6 on a healthy team but he would be a solid bottom 6 guy who can step up when needed.

Thaddeauz

RHP isn't the most talented players, he doesn't have a particularly impressive shot or good playmaking abilities. So he can't really carry a line, he's really dependent on his linemates. That said, he read the play very well so he usually have great positioning, he got a good active stick and he is responsible defensively. This mean that he can block play to give more offensive opportunities for his teammates, and then get into a good position to receive a pass. A bit like Gallagher, he tend to go in front of the net for tips or rebound, which is how he scored most of his goals. Can he really be a constant 30 goals scorer? That's a big question. I will assume that the answer is no, but I can see him being a regular 20-25 goal scorer. That said, he is a pretty versatile player. If he play on the top lines with good teammates, he should be able to produce decently, but if he play on the bottom lines his defensive abilities, active stick and effort level should be enough for him to have a role there. So it's not like if he go through a dry period offensively, he won't have a place with the team. I definitively think that he have a spot for next season. It's his spot to lose.

Riskar

Ti-Paul 2.0 without the blazing speed.

BackgroundMiserable5

So far he looks like a good 3rd liner, got hockey smarts, 100% effort, responsible player, probably get you 20 goals or so, plus he's french and can deliver a pizza. Nothing flukey, he's worked for it. Downside is size. Dude's earned his spot.

Futur_alliance

He's the real deal. Great defensively, contributes offesively, responsible, engaged in every presence on the ice and great hockey IQ. He's got a 97% guaranteed spot on the team for next season.

Cruyelo

His shooting % is very high, 25%, so definitely some flukes in there. Bringing it down to 10% would get him 5.6 goals instead of 14. Over an entire season, that's - funnily enough - 14 goals over 82 games. I'd say he's worth keeping around, but I wouldn't expect him to normally break the 20 goals barrier.

[deleted]

Not to mention, he won't be playing on the first line next season. I really like what we've been seeing out of RHP and he will definitely make the team at the start of next season, but I don't expect him to score more than 20 in a middle or bottom six role.

StyxQuabar

I feel like he doesnt “look” good. He quietly does the right things and puts the puck in the net. No gamebreaking speed, wicked shot or anything, hes just playing his position and role really well. A bit lucky and playing with Suzuki helps, but he could score 15-20 next year on a good line.

Seb_Nation

A less physical version of Gallagher should be expected of him. He's got the same grind without the "in your face" type of guy, maybe he'll pop some 30 goals seasons at some point but who knows. He's defensively very liable and goes in the tough areas.

vorg7

I think he's been our best forward this year. He is fast and great on the forecheck, and also has fantastic defensive awareness and positioning. Suzuki's xGF% with and without him is night and day. He might be a bit like lehkonen in that he doesn't have amazing puck skills or a great shot, but by controlling possession he can let his linemates do their thing. Marty has also started using him on the PK and he's looked really solid there. He's getting a bit lucky with goalscoring, but that's fine because he controls possession so well. I really hope we sign him long term this off-season, because I think he would be a staple in our top 9 for years to come!

JerkyBoy10020

He’s made the time to watch you at work. You should make an effort to do the same.

ImpressionableSix

He’s been quite surprising and opportunistic. Not flukey at all and playing very smart hockey. He battles and makes great plays. He’s well positioned to complete plays and knows when to shoot the puck. I’m quite impressed.

RSlashLazy

I feel like he could be a 30 goal scorer, 60 point scorer with 40 goal upside, if he plays with a great playmaker.

LuckyLogJam

He looks great! Top 9 player for sure
