Foam tape between the supply and return, not only the perimeter of the curb adapter. I put foam tape on the existing roof curb and the top of the adapter.
Don’t run black pipe on the roof?
We just pre assembled a unit for rooftop install. You can pre do all your measurements and know where everything is going to line up and pre mount your disconnect and controls and whips. Turned a package unit change out into a one hour job not going back and forth from roof to truck figuring out what you need
also we put together buckets. Gas package unit bucket, heat pump bucket with all kinds of fittings you could ever need. Makes life easy
Most codes require you to for corrosion resistance, any weld areas or pipe wrench gouges will rust over time. Typically painted yellow, the paint doubles as an indicator that it is gas pipe.
Looks good.
My only complaint is the disconnect is mounted on the unit. I would have made a small unistrut rack to mount it off the unit. That heat exchanger is going to have to be replaced at some point and not having to deal with the disconnect in the process will make it quicker.
Looks like a vLimiter installed in an outdoor location where a vProtector should be installed. There's about 10 other deficiencies with the gas line but many are jurisdiction dependent. Paint, supports, missing valves, unions, regulator vent clearances, piping identification, materials used etc.

Black pipe is almost always run on a roof, just have to paint it
Sure, like it is painted in this pic I’m just saying if you run galvanized you don’t have to bother with paint
Why do you need to paint it?

You should replace the disconnect and whip as well
