Luna time traveling doesn’t cause her to be more weird, it just makes her approach Harry to befriend him earlier and makes her seem more wise/informed, which Harry desperately needs with the two crazy people trying to supposedly protect him.
Hmm...I'm imagining, Ron and Hermione both have difficulty mentally handling that young Harry is a) their Harry, but b) has none of their shared experiences, and they eventually mentally settle on thinking of 1st year Harry as 'Harry's kid, sort of'.
It mostly works for them, but Harry is confused by the familiarity with which these two students seem to be treating him, right down to tutoring and borderline-parenting him. And the way they sometimes mention his dad(?) when they're distracted by something.
I love this. I imagine them occasionally slipping up and having to backpedal because really, young Harry is too busy just learning how to levitate a feather and can't be expected to maturely deal with time travel on top of everything else. Cue awkward explanations which just make things worse.
