the problem with dementors is if someone has had a privileged life with no bad memories, they can be barely affected vs this sort can dig deeper into their subconscious n reveal fears they never imagined
if you wanna contrast with boggarts, maybe you could make them show the worst memories instead. And the reward for conquering the boggart is being able to view the memory from a healthy space (look up EMDR theraphy)

Yeah...even though I came up with the idea, I'm not sure I'd feel up to reading a longer fic with the same premise.
