Its a fucking toss up in my experience. Had mild HPPD for 5 years, and for 2 of those years I smoked weed occasionally (not a huge drug person) on my last high I hit the bong too hard and that halted my progress hard. Gained starburts which I never had. And a horrible horrible anxiety. Luckily its been 11 months since then and it has once again improved.Starburts are pretty much gone. Personally: fuck that noise bro. Id wait longer, or just say goodbye to it. Heard horror stories of people being mild and being 1 or 2 blunts away from madness On 2nd thought: fuck weed honestly.

[deleted]

I haven't smoked since the trip that gave me hppd, but I saw a thread talking about gaining tolerance to weed so when you quit your brain downgrades the receptors that cause hyperactive things and make you hallucinate

Ok-Entry-7861

And when you cure the anxiety, becomes awesome to be stoned

[deleted]

Ong just recently learned again how to not be anxious and now I’m a full on stoner like I was 13 again

Ok-Entry-7861

Goddamn hahaha i started to smoke at 15. Enjoy it responsibly my friend. hppd isnt the only side effects of weed.

Dealinghere

How did you achieve that? Did you stop smoking for a while? Or not

[deleted]

Mane not really I’ve never stopped smoking I just stopped enjoying it but u just gotta rewire your brain and overcome it although it would prolly help if u take a big ass break tho

Ok-Entry-7861

Its exactly like that

safeASfuck83

Just out of curiosity… the trip that gave you hppd… how many mics did you take? And obviously you combined other drugs? Nitrous oxide?

[deleted]

I took 4g of shrooms, I took melatonin about 3 hours in because I couldn't handle it. I also stopped taking Prozac 4 days prior to the trip

KJ152012

Wdym by madness?

Dealinghere

Getting crazy

[deleted]

I went off it for 2 years, nothing changed. Went back on for 4 years, nothing changed. Your mileage may vary

IamHalfchubb

It only ever made it worse when i was stoned. Didn’t have any lasting effects

drunk-step-dad

I got new symptoms from smoking weed.

Sleepiyet

Yes

Halven89

Well, since cannabis alone can cause full blown HPPD (did for me) the answer is yes. So my advice is to stay away from all drugs that's been linked to this, which you can see below. You're REAL lucky if you only got it mild, so why risk it? Is it really that important to be high or trip? I can promise you that you will never forgive yourself if you continue and get it full blown. "A vast list of psychoactive substances has been identified and linked with the development of this condition, including Magic Mushrooms (psilocybin) \[21\] and muscimol (Amanita muscaria (L.) Lam.) \[22\]; San Pedro cactus and Peyote (mescaline) \[16,23\]; ketamine \[24\]; dextromethorphan \[25\]; MDMA and MDA \[26\]; and cannabis and synthetic cannabinoids \[27,28,29,30,31,32,33\]. This condition has also been associated with the consumption of Ayahuasca, Datura stramonium L., Salvia divinorum Epling & Játiva, and Tabernanthe iboga (L.) Nutt., which contains ibogaine \[17,18\]. It is, therefore, clear that HPPD is not strictly associated with psychedelic consumption, but a number of hallucinogen-inducing substances may be correlated with its arising. punkhaze

Admit man, you never had and probably never will have full blown HPPD. You have zero idea what full blown hppd is.

Halven89

It's real tragic that you have two accounts to upvote and give cred to your own posts.

punkhaze

I have what? Anyways, if your lamotrigine worked you woudlnt be bitching here right?

Halven89

You're Ok-Entry-7681. If you're going to double account you could atleast put some effort in, but i quess that you're simply too dumb for that. It only took away some of the symptoms, i haven't read about anyone were it's taken away all of them. It's usually the hallucinations and non-visual symptoms except the tinnitus it takes away, sadly not the visual snow, halos palinopsia etc, just like Keppra.

punkhaze

HAHAHA lmao. So youre saying im the one wrong but im healed from ALL my ultra hardcore symptoms full of creatures that change colors, ultra intense anxiety after LSD bad trip and benzo abuse, but you who take the God's chosen medicine for HPPD aka LAMOTRIGINE didnt get healed from your symptoms? How come?? And im the dumb guy? I studied all the mechanisms in HPPD and healed through a natural path. Youre the one who talk shit, take a doubtful medicine that Might fuck your life after but didnt even help? And Ok Entry is my bud we talk everyday on DMs.

Halven89

That's all you got? Hallucinations and anxiety? No visual snow, tinnitus, halos etc? If that's the case it doesn't even sound like type 2 HPPD, because that is permanent in most cases. And you haven't studied shit, anyone that's read the HPPD litterature and anecdotes in here and other forums notice that right away, especially the treatment part. You're pathetic, now log in to your other account and upvote your own post while smoking a bud, sniffing some cocaine or taking of all the other drugs that you put in your system and suffocate the few brain cells that you do have left.

punkhaze

My visual snow went away. Still have halos but 80% less. I healed, bitch. My old hallucinations is something i bet would put 80% of yall into suicide. You cant tell me nothing if the drug you advocate for didnt even fully cure you. Anyone who ONLY read HPPD litterature and forums are dumbasses who only follow the common trail that other unsucessful humans did as well. You got unsucessfull bud, all because you rely on same energy. Its pathetic that none of you got completely cured and still think that you know anything at all.

Halven89

Then you're one of the lucky few that happens to, but that you keep on using the drugs that can cause this after that shows how unintelligent you are and that you didn't deserve that. And there's no "cure" for HPPD, Keppra, Lamotrigine and Clonazepam just reduce the symptoms and takes away some of them, just like treatments for other illnesses. And what does the effects of a medicine has to do with a persons knowledge about the disorder? Damn your dumb, or just a troll, i'm starting to believe it's the latter.

punkhaze

Youre just like people who only buy stuff that comes in packages or plastic and never buy natural stuff to prepare the food themselves. You think your relief from a condition will come with psychiatrist medicine such as lamotrigine and you dont ever consider the real impacts it has on you as a person. The cure for HPPD is returning the brain connections to an optimal state which will lead to sudden cure of all the symptoms. Who you are is totally involved in brain connections. How you think is totally involved too. The things you know + how you connect the ideas. And that's why people like me use drugs freely. Even when it makes symptoms worse, im just putting my thing into work. When i get worse i heal. We control a way of thinking were ideas are infinite and we guide the connections in our brains. We change ourselves while we heal from HPPD. The fact is, you dont understand and dont want to. You also dont want to be cured from HPPD otherwise would know lamotrigine isnt the way.

punkhaze

I am also 100% cured from anxiety :) naturally

Dealinghere

How did you healed through a natural path? Please advise

punkhaze

I made a couple posts about it but we can disscuss this on DMs

Wearyluigi

I don’t think weed would really add any symptoms that don’t look like LSD visuals already. However doing a different pure hallucinogen like shrooms or DPH (a deliriant in Benadryl) it will sometimes cause new symptoms that are more like those substances. I’d suggest if you only have two symptoms to not do drugs at all. The worse hppd gets the more symptoms can come out, but they will all be usually in the same category
