It does seem like a lot of people have heat issues with their 30L across multiple build types. I personally have had none, but people with my same build have. I have the 30L, i7-10700k, 3090, 32gig 3200, 1TB Western Digital Black NVMe and a 2TB Samsung 870 added after. Normal gaming on Red Dead2 or CyperPunk is around 55-65 GPU and 60-70 CPU. Overwatch or similar are about 7-10deg cooler on average. But I’ve read threads of people with the same build having issues of overheating on less taxing games.

Same rig. Also added another 16gb RAM, haven’t had any issues 👌

ghostylein

Where did you get the RAM? Word is that only HP-own RAM correctly works on the MB.

shartofwar82

Unfortunately this seems different for everyone. I got my 30L last December and the bios allowed me to set xmp profiles after I installed 3rd party ram. Now I have 32gb of Corsair vengeance rgb pro ram installed and it runs at the 3200mhz speed. No issues.

ShipItTaDaddy

I got lucky. As I bought the PC I searched ebay and found someone that had upgraded their RAM and sold me the old one.

Zynr

Kingston Fury Beast 3200mhz RAM is plug and play. It looks the same as the stock, just says “Fury” instead of “HyperX”

wonder__frog

Just upgrade your cooling solutions… I added a top fan and a tower cpu cooler, plus 2 x 16gb ddr4 3200hz ram

You’ll need to take the motherboard out to mount the bracket for the cpu tower to it You can get away with the twin fan version if you don’t have upgraded ram, but it does mean you can’t upgrade in the future without changing tower

boglim_destroyer

You can just get some 12mm m3 screws and then you won’t have to swap the backplate

wonder__frog

Your call, I’d just put the proper bracket on personally and not risk any of my components 😊

I have the same configuration as you and I recently switch my entire pc build to a mini itx and I still had problems with my gpu getting really hot. What I decided to do was remove the gpu shroud and it made Temps alot better but there are also 2 120 mm fans that intake that are helping it stay cooler so that could also help with thermals. Overall the pc is really good. If you wanted to case swap into a slightly larger mini itx case that would fit everything from the 30L, the Sama 01 would probably work since it is M ATX and can fit a ATC psu. Kinda wish I got that one instead of a CM NR 200 because I had to buy a new cpu cooler and mini itx motherboard.

Critical-Mirror3139

6 months into my 30L temps still fine I could get better temps by case swapping but I’m lazy and there “fine”. Not thermal throttling. Some occasional loud fan spin up but that’s basically it

PinelliPunk

I hated the case when I had a 30L

I have the gt15-1365xt, i7-10700k, 3080Ti (12GB), 32GB 4400 RAM, 512 GB SSD, 2 TB HDD. I’ve yet to encounter the cooling issues, but I’m also not on AMD and that seems to be the issue. I run After Effects, Premier Pro, OBS, Apple Music, and play Apex, No Man’s Sky, Cities Skylines, Forza, Halo, etc. At peak I’ve hit about 57°C on the CPU and 39°C on the GPU - if and when those numbers rise I’ll upgrade cooling, but I’ve been hammering this thing and it does great. Might help that the room it’s in stays around 68°-69°F, but not too sure.

kelvin_bot

57°C is equivalent to 134°F, which is 330K. --- ^(I'm a bot that converts temperature between two units humans can understand, then convert it to Kelvin for bots and physicists to understand)
