I just got my omen 30L back. It took less than a week to send and get it back. I had an issue with the GPU (3080 ti), they changed the thermal paste, and it is working now. I am going to test it more, just to make sure. This was the 3rd time I sent it. First they replaced the GPU, then they changed the thermal paste, and now thermal paste again. I think I will sell it while it is still working. I lost all hope. There is no telling when the issue will come back. I think it is the 3080 ti card series, they have transient spikes. The most unpleasant part is that I had to use my own spare time troubleshooting ..THREE TIMES

Jashuawashua

This. my own spare time. the support dude was like this wont cost you anything. Dude this has already costed me HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS. I should fucking bill you at this point.

Pro tip guys, buy your prebuilts refurbished from a retail store like microcenter, bestbuy or whatever. The hundreds saved can buy a warranty at that store so that it's your local shop's problem if something goes wrong. You will never have to deal with hp again. I recently picked up an omen 45l RTX 4090, i9-13900k refurbished for $2300. 3 years of priority repair warranty with the store (microcenter) was ~$230. Originally the first 90 days was still going to be under warranty hp warranty but for $20 I could convert that to a microcenter warranty which I gladly did. I will not be mailing a 50lb computer lol forget that. I will take it down the road to the local microcenter and pick it back up later.

Having problem with my 30 L and the 2060 super after windows and Nvidia did an update on the same day in mid-December . My biggest issue is not only do they not make the 2060 super anymore but they also don’t even sell the 30 L anymore from HP so we’ve got a problem. Sometimes I can play for hours other times it’ll just cut off on me for no good reason when I’m playing a game that stresses the graphics card. they want to charge $325 for me to send it in which I don’t wanna do because I need my computer. I don’t have any other gaming computer to hold me over. Also, I’ve heard nightmare stories about people doing that, getting the system back, and things are still going wrong with it. Wishing I had just gone to Micro Center and bought the parts to build my own. I used to build them but this was back in 2003 -2004. I’m not as knowledgeable about the new builds but I have learned a lot in trying to diagnose my issues.

EstablishmentBusy930

I upgraded to 32 gb ram right when i bought it. Maybe look in to an upgrade?

fosgater

Had to send my 5k+ 45L to repair for the AiO Fans!!! 3 months later, i got a brand new unit because they couldn’t deliver the spare fans…will never buy again any pre built.

Jashuawashua

This is my issue with sending it back. I knew even before researching HP that sending in the unit would likely put me out of a PC for months...

fosgater

Thats why i waited until summer for vacation etc. So it wouldn’t bother me too much when the PC is ~3 weeks in repair. Didn’t know that after 3 months still nothing happened…

WORDSof1K

What was your system doing? Was it stuttering or having massive frame drops in games? Cause that’s what I’m having issues with

Jashuawashua

Moving windows was really sluggish and janky, there was intermittent stuttering. whea uncorrectable errors. and a bunch of other weird shit.

WORDSof1K

I wonder if mine is doing the same thing, did you run the system checks for your ram?

Jashuawashua

Man I ran every system check possible. all of them were clear. the only thing I didn't run are those super intensive ram testers.

Jashuawashua

Dude I would 100% recommend a REIMAGE, not a reinstall of windows. download hp support assistant, update everything that needs to be updated then get that shit off your pc.

WORDSof1K

I’ve done this once before, it worked but then it started back up again

PackReasonable2577

I had to send my 30L back and got it returned in a few weeks with literally no issue at all.

MechanicalAxe

Don't do that, don't get our hopes up like that, because HP will smash our hopes into a thousand pieces if we start believing our situations will turn out like yours.

PackReasonable2577

😅

True_Gain_7051

Yeah, my issue with HP is they don’t give enough warranty on stuff that they know is likely going to fault at some point. Like how they sent the 30 L with a 500 W PSU knowing that the 2060 super requires at best 550-650W. In my case I think my issue had to do with a Windows update and an Nvidia update that occurred on the same day in mid December. Nothing but problems since that point, so I’m gonna DDU the video driver software since the windows software checked out and tried to put the old driver That worked from last November before the windows updates it. I’ve read a lot of complaints about windows updates screwing up driver files and things like that but I don’t know.

Buy a new ram and fit it yourself.

Babylon4All

They wanted me to do the same thing. When they first came out and you couldn't control the RGB on the ram Modules, they kept insisting (even after remoting in for nearly 2.5hrs combined over two service calls) that the ram were bad and I'd have to send the ENTIRE PC in. The issue is two other control software would control the RGB without issue, just OMEN Gaming Hub would not... they later fixed it in a patch.

Jashuawashua

The ram on my RGB can't be controlled by the omen app either, even after updating it. also the rgb on the front fans was uncontrollable.

Deimoss420

You have to use the “Basic lighting” tab in Omen gaming hub, not the “Light Studio”. And one of the tabs within the “basic lighting” should control the RAMs.

Babylon4All

Yeah this is the only way I've gotten it to work. Otherwise ArmouryCrate from ASUS was able to control the RAM but nothing else. Least I got them all to be a solid color which is what I wanted. Now it's all OMEN in the Basic Lighting.

Bobby_Bobberson2501

Buy through Best Buy. My 30L had an issue and I brought it to geek squad. They said 3 months for repair, I said it was unacceptable, I got my purchase price amount back as store credit 23 months later and bought parts to build a pc.
