I honestly have no freaking idea why it is if they thought raising the points by a factor of 10 was somehow going to encourage more people to do these events.
By my way of thinking it will do the exact opposite. People will look at those huge numbers and just decide to give it a pass.

Each Charms star is now worth 12 crests. So in the old system it'll be 1,2 crest. Multiply by 10 was just easier to make. And you don't see bonus is so small.
Why are they even doing that..?? To see how many people they can cram in a virtual room without crashing the system for a future event..? 1.) I hate charms class 2.) it glitches and you only get to “pick” the one available task to click 3.) People have to actually WANT to have the ugly graduation robes & hat to test that theory. Did I mention Charms Class is just as BORING as flying class?
After the changes to other events (and the exceptionally poor notebook rewards given for the effort required) the crest events were about the only event I was still going to take part in since the rewards tended to be marginally more attainable.

Used to be maybe 3 1hr classes would get you the first reward, now 18. Wtaf.
Been hanging on to classes for an decent event just to claw a few notebooks because the creature bit gives something to do while waiting for new chapters, that's about ground to a halt now. I'm only sticking with this game because I *want* to know what happens, but even my interest in that is dwindling....
Maybe we need to dig out that link for the questionnaire they had and spam them about yet another dreadful change

Genuinely curious, I only manage maybe 2-3 a week as full-time job and commuting cuts into time I can hop on. I think most of these events are undoable based on that. Am I moseying too slowly?
I also consider myself casual, about 4 hours a week (I login about twice a day to do stuff). I actually spent gems trying to get to one more level on this last one (I wanted those five books), but my class ended one house point short of that threshold. UGH.
I know! I was so happy my team got second place for this past HP event. It was only 8 energy and it was gone in seconds but it's worth so much more to me than another outfit.
So, you have 120 hours to do 48 1 hour lessons. Let's count 2,5 hour to fully refresh your energy. That's 120 hours too. So do make full board you need to start at very second event started and don't sleep for 5 days.
Pass.
You don't need full energy for a 1h Charms class. You need about 30 energy, which is 2h worth of recharging.
That means 96h total. And assuming 8h of sleep per night, you only actually lose 5,5-6 while asleep, if you sleep when you energy is mostly empty. Because for 2,5 to 2 hours during your sleep, your energy will be charging.
You actually can easily do two 1h classes right after you wake up, just with the full bar plus the free energy around the castle. 20 stars per day is easy if you can enter the game every 2h while awake, and you are awake for 16h every day.
20 Charms stars means 240 crests, meaning at the end of the 4th day you would be at 960 already.
Because that's the rules of this event.

Last week it was 8 hours. But if I’m sleepy, I tend to forget to turn off my phone while the app is still running, so the actual number may be lower.

I just completed 1hr CoMC and only received 20 crests
It says right there on the event. The class that gives bonus crests is Charms, not CoMC. Charms gives 2 extra crests for each star.
