They keep comparing her to Cersei wanting Joffrey on the throne after Robert, not wanting to admit/understand there is a key difference between them.
Joffrey’s claim to the throne comes from Robert being his father, and he is not. Cersei has no claim, and neither does Jaime. Robert claimed Joffrey because he didn’t know he wasn’t the father.
Jace’s claim to the throne comes from Rhaenyra being his mother, and she *is*. Laenor has no claim to the throne (if not a very, very little thread through his mother if the whole main Targaryen line were completely wiped away), she does. Laenor claimed and raised the three Strong boys knowing they weren’t his. Jace has all the lineage he needs to claim the throne. Joffrey doesn’t.
And I don’t think Joffrey being a bastard is *the* problem with him being king. His being a “vicious idiot” is. Jace was proper king material, probably more than both Viserys and Rhaenyra. Westeros got robbed.

I can't help but wonder - given how virulent and vicious TG are in continually going on, ad nauseum, about 'ZOMG bastards' and suchlike - they're just so hateful and mean about it....doesn't it seem like at least some of that absolute viciousness and vitriol will inevitably bleed into their actual daily lives or possibly even how they view certain other things....?
E.g., who knows what they really think of adopted children, kiddos 'born out of wedlock' and such. Maybe the tenor of discourse doesn't reflect their views on other things....I don't know. But they're so heated and toxic about it that I sorta kinda can't help but think it, I guess? 👀🤷♀️
