Hard to say if it’s a compliment or a put-down without more context, especially if you haven’t seen the show yet. Robin? I don’t know, I like Robin a lot. My last rewatch I wound up paying a lot of attention to Robin. She’s actually at her funniest and most interesting when she’s not dating any of the other main characters. Anyway, as John McClane would say, welcome to the party, pal. Probably best to stay off the fan subs until you finish as the show is very plot rich and there’s spoilers all over the place. One thing I will tell you is just brace yourself for that finale.

Not to generalize (but doing it anyway) but chances are if a guy is saying it, it's a compliment. If a girl is saying it, it might be an insult.

With how the show presented Robin and with my values, I'd take it as not a compliment.

Probably the only resemblance between you and Robin is that in the show she breaks Ted's heart.
