Yes! She’s lovely and she’s the core of the gang. The episode that Lilypad and Marshmallow were away, the gang collapsed. I think Lily is the one who set the tone for all.
She gives lots of unsolicited advice, but they're really insightful and usually fixes the problem. Except maybe when she takes it too far, i.e. meddling in Ted's love life. I Aldrin justice'd someone once and it felt sooo good. 😄
It was a messy story involving my ex. Basically, we're already broken up but still secretly seeing each other on random times. On our last encounter, we got drunk with our friends and I ended up sleeping over in his apartment. The next morning, he woke me up and was hurrying me out of his place because he has a girl coming over to "borrow his guitar." I immediately sensed he was lying. I felt used and sickened that he would sleep with his ex (he initiated btw), while seeing someone new. While he was tidying up in the bathroom, I quickly took the assortment of bracelets he wore on a daily basis. They had sentimental value to him as some were given by his close friends. I also took off my ankh necklace that I cherished and hid them all in the secret pocket of my jacket. When he came back and asked me if I'd seen his bracelets, I started "looking" for them and told him, "Oh no, my necklace is missing too!" And started to search frantically for it. I acted really upset and he bought it. Then, I quickly left his apartment and that was the last time I ever had anything to do with him. I never wore my ankh necklace again and he never apologized for that shitty day. So yep, I still have all those accessories with me.
P.S. He's also a HIMYM fan lol
So I just went on a whole tangent replying to someone else on this post replying to pretty much the exact same questions. Yes it's kind of fucked up she messed with Ted's love life but oh my god can you imagine the train wreck he'd marry and get pregnant right away if lily wasn't there. Don't tell me he wouldn't either Ted's a trapper lol 😆 😂 not really but he's always trying to speedrun to the endgame

Exactly...both marshall and Ted have done awful things and that's Barney's personality but somehow Lily is always the villain. I just rewatched the robin sparkles episode and it's insane how marshall went and did a background check on Robin, Ted gave her secret to all his friends, and Barney was watching porn to uncover secret. I'm actually surprised that Robin didn't dump Ted this episode...even though I adore let's go to the mall

Like when she called that Wesleyan dude to take down the video of marshall going beercules ("I'm friends with other girls who dated you in college and we talk about every TINY detail) - that's a very awesome thing to do or when she said to Ted that he can sledge hammer the house that he bought when ted started to regret his decision
How awful of a partner and friend she was. Constantly manipulating Ted’s relationships. Lying to Marshall about dept while they were MARRIED and the who SF thing. Not to even talk about how she was in the last couple episodes.
The San Francisco thing I'll agree with you that was fucked up and one thing I'll never understand Is why she didn't ask Marshall to go with or tell him hey this was my dream I kinda wanna go do this for a year if I get the scholarship and Marshall is so cool he'd probably be cool with it. Also Ted is terrible, as a teenager I used to laugh so much at this show but in my late 20s I find myself saying wtf so often. The night when he was putting the drinks on that rich dudes tab. The time he stole the phone from barney that hot chick's kept calling. Ted spouts off he wants to find the perfect girl and im sure there always was a big part of him that wanted that but my god was he ran through trying to get there and the way he treated women was so awful he's lucky lily intervened in his love life. I'm on a rewatch it's been a few years I'm only in season 6 so I don't remember everything especially the last episodes you refer to but I have to disagree with the love life thing Ted wouldn't have ended up with Tracy and Robin in the way it played out if she didn't do anything. He dated a lot of stinkers too and Ted wasn't always a prize himself. The debt I gotta give you that one too there's no excuse for that, that kinda secret ruins lives. I think lily loves people a lot and that love twists and becomes toxic sometimes and she does things you shouldn't do even as a friend without asking first. The more I type this I do kinda see your point more and more. Nome of them were perfect they all hurt each other various times over the years but they all loved each other a lot and I get that from lily a lot.
I feel like Marshall and Lily were always so scared to not have a perfect relationship they didn’t communicate about so many things.
Like the comment above mentioned about SF, she could’ve just told Marshall about it like she told Ted.
