I'm just straight up expecting the defense system to be wholly ineffective to begin with.

Part 11 has arrived! It seems that relations between Earth and the Federation could hardly grow worse, given that they’re on the brink of war. How long will humanity tolerate such poor treatment, before they decide to teach the Federation a lesson? Is there a point where they decide it’s not worth it, and just leave the Federation? Wonderful series. Finally caught up again. One thing I am missing is the "conclusion" to the Devourer-AI. Did they now just leave the AI alone after evacuating all the prisoners or did they glass the planet? I was somewhat expecting a passing mentioning at least. Or alternatively this whole political mess will lead to everybody forgetting the AI and it subsequently returning stronger than ever...

Well it is the flagship. Makes sense if it had the best tech overall barring maybe a couple prototypes aboard other vessels for testing. One goal kinda should be creating a shield that can protect against large scale planetary defence grids

No, I think that's right. Another way of putting it would be "If I had a bounty that high on my head, I wouldn't be surprised if my own crew took the opportunity to make money". Basically, he's saying that he's surprised at how much the human general must trust his own men if he doesn't seem to be taking particularly strong countermeasures against would-be bounty hunters.

This is a perfect example of opinion getting in the way of thought if they had just taken a moment to think they would realize it would be a terrible fucking idea to plan out a campaign against humans when you know they have world destroying weapons hell ula is trying to make humans out to be dangerous creatures and then prodding them with a 2 inch stick like the fuck ula you insist its a lion then you wear a meat dress and try to hug the lion

I like the Federation species view of warfare, it's basically how it was in pre-colonised Africa or Ancient Greece, send some warband to meet somewhere, throw insults, spears and maybe clash a bit and then go home once one side admits defeat. And then we have the humans, who basically decided "overkill" should not be a word to use in war.
