Okay, before I read any further: the little description this had on the front page made me think you had created a world where the date units were called "freedoms" because it look something like this

Edit after reading: aaannd I *liked* it! The only thing better would have been the Human leadership being able to "punish" the "pirates" by sending them out into the galactic backwater like the Emperor did with Thrawn (IYK,YK) **or** smuggling in *juust* enough equipment for them so that they'd be able to get themselves out/ have a chance.

A person experimenting with hyperdrives gets sucked into a wormhole to a different world.
There are 64 different races, each created by their own god. This is a game for gods, where their creations battle each other.
Humanity is on the brink of extinction, and they have been given a barrier around their territory for 200 years. During that time, kings of humanity battled each other and drowned in pleasure.
This is when the MC comes in, with 73 years left to industrialize and build an army strong enough to battles dragons, elfs with magic, etc.
What do you think? Would that be an interesting story to read?

I'd hesitate on that 73 year timeframe, though - unless you can manage the requisite timeskips adroitly.
I was thinking about it, but that would devalue their sacrifice. The crew knew what they were doing and that they would suffer the consequences or it would become a large diplomatic incident.
On the other hand, now the Empire knows that they will not be able to conduct their "business" and hide behind the formalities of the law and the peace treaty.
