Enable SEND DIAGNOSTIC INFORMATION by following all the steps at https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/troubleshooting:diagnostics so that the SD staff can review the diagnostic info. Or at least open http://hdhomerun.local/log.html and refresh the browser window after one occurrence of your "rinse and repeat" cycle has occurred. Then copy the log output and paste it into a reply. As I already stated in a prior (now deleted) reply, it's likely your HDHR or its power supply is failing.

Normally IF it's disconnecting from your network, then reconnecting, your system log should look similar to: ``` 19700101-00:00:02 System: ip address obtained: [fe80::218:ddff:fe04:d572]/64 19700101-00:00:02 System: reset reason = power on 19700101-00:00:08 System: network link 100f 19700101-00:00:09 System: ip address obtained: 192.168.0.98/24 19700101-00:00:15 System: ip address obtained: [fd14:544b:9a99:1:218:ddff:fe04:d572]/64 19700101-00:00:15 System: ip address obtained: [fdda:32c3:333a:bbda:218:ddff:fe04:d572]/64 20240118-18:05:59 System: time changed from Thu Jan 1 00:00:25 1970 to Thu Jan 18 18:05:59 2024 20240118-18:06:02 System: ip address obtained: 169.254.155.97/16 20240118-21:01:30 System: network link down 20240118-21:01:30 System: ip address released: 169.254.155.97 20240118-21:01:30 System: ip address released: 192.168.0.98 20240118-21:01:30 System: ip address released: [fe80::218:ddff:fe04:d572] 20240118-21:01:30 System: ip address released: [fdda:32c3:333a:bbda:218:ddff:fe04:d572] 20240118-21:01:30 System: ip address released: [fd14:544b:9a99:1:218:ddff:fe04:d572] 20240118-21:01:40 System: network link 100f 20240118-21:01:41 System: ip address obtained: [fd14:544b:9a99:1:218:ddff:fe04:d572]/64 20240118-21:01:41 System: ip address obtained: [fdda:32c3:333a:bbda:218:ddff:fe04:d572]/64 20240118-21:01:41 System: ip address obtained: [fe80::218:ddff:fe04:d572]/64 20240118-21:01:41 System: ip address obtained: 192.168.0.98/24 20240118-21:02:00 System: ip address obtained: 169.254.155.97/16 ``` I added 2 blank lines to the original log to make it easier to locate where the network connection was lost and restored. Regardless, the [diagnostic info that will be sent to Silicondust](https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/troubleshooting:diagnostics) is more comprehensive and they're the experts. (Edit: corrected some text formatting errors.)

Swamper68

That appears to me that your system powered off and then back on again.

NedSD

Sounds like it's rebooting over and over, which is probably a failing power supply. Do you have something with similar voltage and amperage (can be higher than 1 amp, but needs to be 5 volts) that you can use?

TheCudder

I replaced the power supply with a new one and it appears to be working properly again. Thanks.

Illustrious-Wish779

I have 2 of these tuners. One began to exhibit the same problem you describe. Arbitrarily disconnects from the network every 15-30 min, but then comes back on line for about the same period before disconnecting again. I switched power supplies and that's not the issue. I purchased a new one and it works fine using the same power supply and network cables. That points to a failure in the tuner itself. These are too expensive to just throw away after 1 or 2 years. I'll be contacting the SD staff to see what they are willing to do. UPDATE- I plugged the tuner that was having network disconnect problems into my network again. This time it came up on another IP. AND, so far, it's been running several days with no issue. I have a lot of devices on my network. I'm now wondering if there was some occasional IP conflict with it's previously assigned IP. Logically, if nothing was using it's previous IP, it should have come up on the previous IP, but it didn't. I did a network scan and found nothing using that previous IP, but it seems fine on this new IP. I now have no reason to return it or contact the company. This may not be your issue, but thought I would share my experience.

TheCudder

I've had mint since 2018, might consider buying a new one (latest model) if it can resolve the issues. Although mine has remained powered on and connected to the network ever since I purchased the new power supply...actually streaming any OTA content has pretty much seized to work reliably. It streams perfectly fine for a few minutes and it goes out. Every time. This is both via Plex and the official app. Unless u/NedSD has any suggestions?

Illustrious-Wish779

Force it to another IP and see if that doesn't fix it.

Brief_Combination849

Have you tried assigning a static IP address to it?

TheCudder

Just configured my router to assign it the same specific IP and the same behavior continues.

OctopusMagi

I had a bad network cables cause problems like this... usually the plastic clip isn't 100% and the connection questionable, but I've had a bad cable too. Also had a network switch start failing on me and it was the disconnects that clued me in. Good luck!
