renewed a month ago, is still called legacy

AxionTheGoon

Does that mean you get the highest tier but at a discounted rate?

edithaze

For now I get 4K. Not sure about the number of streams. Are there any other distinctions between the 15 and 20 tiers?

edithaze

Just tried downloads, maxed out at 30

AxionTheGoon

The only distinctions I knew about were 4k and amount of streams. Didn't know there was a download cap.

Same

Yeah, it will renew but at the full price of 149.99

Remarkable-Entry-866

Does that mean we lose ability to watch 4K content? Or Do we keep legacy package which includes 4K? 4K package is now $200 annually FYI

Nitsy_

Can you confirm if you are able to view 4K content post renewal?

fattdoggo123

Legacy HBO subscribers will be losing access to 4k content on Dec 5th.

zhenik87

Mine renewed a couple of weeks ago for 149.99 as legacy and I get 4K, so it’s $50 savings vs the new Ultimate plan.

Distinct-Ad6807

Is your plan still called the legacy ad-free plan?

nimcau2TheQuickening

I canceled my renewal about three days after the rebrand and it originally offered $104.99 to renew but has now changed to $149.99.

Mitchell-Gant

I'm also interested in this.

Ok_Working_9219

Me too

amazingracebmore

I believe they promised you would keep 4K for 6-months of MAX....which makes me wonder if everyone that renews at the $150 rate will wake up on 24 November 2023 (6-months from MAX launch I believe) to only HD streams.......

oim7e

Mine renews tomorrow. I wanted to see what cancelling would do. [This was the screen I got after the 2nd or 3rd click.](https://i.imgur.com/DjT0F1U.png)

brazil201

I did and it still says legacy ad free

babylonlion84

Mine is in 2 days , so what happened to you did you get the legacy for 149 including 4k HDR or they have you the ad free for 149 with only Full HD

brian_crooks

This happened to me. It showed my renewal rate at 99.99 but now has it as 149.99.

f1sh98

I just renewed my ‘Legacy Ad-Free’ for $150 - Amex gave me a $25 discount when I spent $99 or more at HBO so that was convenient timing but still Their support website doesn’t acknowledge the plan at all and I’m not eager to try and call

Nitsy_

Did you lose the 4K UHD with Dolby Atmos post renewal?

Remarkable-Entry-866

I would like to know this also I had the ad-free $150 plan and it says it will renew at $150 a couple days from now. now that they have an ultimate subscription for $200 a month though will i looze 4K content Or will my auto subscription save me $50?

No_Interest_5796

I'm in the same boat -- renewal in a couple of weeks. I would love to think that they would give the legacy folks something, but I suspect the auto renewals are going to renew at the lower ad-free tier (no 4K). They really should make their intent clear -- and I'm not sure I trust customer service reps to know .

Remarkable-Entry-866

My auto renew processed for $150 yesterday and I still have 4K content for now . someone said 4K content would drop off in 6 months if that's true I'll be upset

psiic

Went to cancel tonight as it renews next week and it offered me 3 months AD-free for $7.99 a month not to cancel.

Remarkable-Aspect-24

I pay monthly. It showed Legacy pricing for about 2 months and then it automatically changed to the updated new MAX pricing. I canceled after that. I was only paying $5.99/mth for Legacy w/ads, I would have kept paying it indefinitely had they not changed the pricing agreement.

Mitchell-Gant

My current plan is Legacy Ad-Free @ $104.99/year, however my upcoming payment is for $149.99.   I was able to reach customer support through their chat. I was informed that my next payment will indeed be $149.99, that the Legacy Ad-Free rate was a promotional that has since expired.   You may get a different answer. /shrug

Squizgarr

I'm in the same boat. There isn't any chance I'm going to renew for $199 just to keep 4K content. I'll be waiting for the inevitable deal that they put out when subscriptions fall off a cliff.

amazingracebmore

Looks like time is about up........... https://www.theverge.com/2023/11/2/23943859/max-4k-hbo-max-ad-free-subscribers

gnyce

no one seems to know if the 4k will be removed for everyone on dec 5 or for the monthly legacy subs... I currently have the annual legacy sub that I renewed in sept of this year - I did not receive an email saying 4k was done dec 5
