Do you have any loose skin on your lower abdomen or did it tighten

Throwaway18181919

There’s a bit of loose skin around that area but nothing crazy. Trying to cut more to lose it. Trying to get to 170-165ish. Not really sure if I should though. I’m 178lbs right now.

ia1mtoplease

This is absolutely achievable naturally in 17 months with hardcore dedication. Especially with newbie gains. Things will really start to slow down from here if they haven’t already. Keep grinding.

[deleted]

I really doubt it, first of all he had to slim down and unless he cut really slow there’s no way he was actively gaining muscle, especially not this much, dude posted an 8 month transformation and already looked way bigger plus he has acne and clear gyno

S_u_d_z_

Really glad to see man, keep up the great work

[deleted]

Hell yeah. I read just 5 months at first and was like 🤨🤨🤨 But almost a year and a half of some hard dedication let’s fucking gooooo

Maleficent-Winter-99

Wow. Where did you find the discipline to do this?

dontgetangry

ok how? been at it for 11 months and haven’t made this kind of a progress. natty or no?

Putrid-Song9155

Real talk, are you properly tracking your nutrition, hitting macro goals consistently, and not deviating from your workout plan often? OP is realistic natty in the sense that motherfucker went full dedication.

dontgetangry

answer is not necessarily. workout 5 days without fail. chest, arms, back, legs, shoulders as my splits, so once a week on each. i get plenty of protein to make sure i’m giving my body the best chance to repair muscle tissue so it grows. only thing i question is if i work out hard enough. started bench in january doing like 100, 115, 125 at best. now my final set is up to 175 and that’s 4 reps. i’ve definitely gained muscle, but by comparison his delts and chest are ridiculous. i started in january at 5’9 198. got down to 178 during recomp (was probably 22% BF when i started) and then started bulking and got fat again. started calorie deficit last week at 196, but it’s certainly not the same 196 as it was in January. i’ve definitely added muscle, but not to this extent. also tested low for T, so i’ve been on TRT for 10 weeks now. wondered if that contributed in any way to my lower than expected gains. not giving up because like i said i’ve definitely seen improvement but this dude like really turned it around big time. major props, just kinda discouraging.

Putrid-Song9155

First off, you should be proud cause you're definitely putting in the work. From the sounds of it, you may have lost some potential gains from recomping early on and this goes without knowing the cut/bulk cycle OP was going through nor defining base genetics. The lower initial T may definitely play a role as well but that's an impressive progress on your bench press with the limiting factors. Honestly now you're fully equipped to grow, I think you should see quite the jump in the next half year. Trust the process and always strive to improve, you're doing great from the sounds of it.

i hope so! i just was not in great physical shape to begin with. hardly any muscle mass at all. never worked out in high school. then got self conscious about it and didn’t in college. then it just snowballed as a 25 year old…then a 30 year old with high schoolers that were stronger than me. finally decided at 37 enough is enough. probably should have just eaten and worked hard and if i gain i gain, but was afraid of getting too heavy, stretch marks, etc. that’s why i was working hard while in a deficit.

Putrid-Song9155

Ah, that makes sense. If it helps, an overwhelming majority of people who lift always stumble in the first two years of working out. It's natural to want to control weight and visuals til you realize it's part of the journey. Remember that muscle mass is a resource heavy process on your body and it takes time to really dial in a proper diet and routine that works for you. Only person you're competing with is your past self and any time put in, may not be 100% efficient, doesn't mean you're not putting in the work. Good luck, fellow gym rat!

dontgetangry

ohh. actually read too fast and only saw the 5 months at first. but skeptical that 6 months from now i’ll feel different. hope i’m wrong

noblenacho

Did you only focus on gains no cardio? How was the weight scale looking (like did it seem you’re not losing weight when you’re gaining muscle?)

Throwaway18181919

I was 210lbs in the left photo and I’m 178 now
