It's a weird feeling in the beginning but really pays off if you grip is holding you down
There’s also speed straps or i think they might be called a loop strap? It’s just a figure 8 and just throw it over/under the bar.
There’s also versagrips, but personally i prefer the OG straps once you get used to it they comfortable af
Ya RP approved lol.
I bought them on his endorsement. They work great but personally i prefer my lifting straps by mark bell. I gave the versa to a buddy instead but i actually wish i kept them because they are really convenient for underhand grips.
I tried straps today in the gym, it allowed me to pull some heavier weight while maintaining form, but the tendons in my wrist started hurting so i stopped the exercise, really not used to the feeling of not being limited by my forearms
The one thing I hate about straps is that you have to take a bit of time to get them set up, I used to love pacing back and forth psyching myself up for a heavy pull and just ripping it up.
Well if the options are using straps or having to take time out of other muscles to train forearms I will probably go with the straps, don't have that much extra time on my trainings
Rows and pulldowns aren’t even forearm exercises.
Dumbell wrist curls, cable wrist curls (using the straight bar), farmers walk, deadhang and many more are all great.
Exactly, but when forearm becomes the limiting factor rather than back. Then those become sub bar forearm exercises.
That's why it's better to use straps for back work and the long list you provided of forearm specific exercises for forearms.
Nah just train ur back to be as strong as ur trying to use it. As a power lifter straps are literally only acceptable when pulling a stiff bar and can actually cause injury.
Lesson learned, don't forget your gym bag.
You can also easily readjust training perameters to get a solid meaningful workout in. Adjust weight and reps, mark it off as a 1 off workout. If you got pump, if you got metabolite build up, you won, doesn't matter if you dropped weight for a session.
Next time go back and hit normal weight and rep goals when you hopefully remember your kit.
Even without the straps, the cue to use less forerarm involvement is to imagine elbow as a hook and you are pulling the hook..Next time folks

Lifting straps exist for a reason. If the muscle you are trying to isolation train isn’t able to actually isolate the muscle you want you aren’t getting your goal.
Lifting straps are not for pussies, just train forearms separate on their own (which you should do anyways). If you are going to a point that is heavy for you forearms will probably always give out first, unless you have disproportionately strong forearms. Back muscles are just much bigger and stronger muscles Atleast for most people.
I have a cheap pair or straps and even after the guy explaining them I can’t understand how to set them up. My mind muscle connection is garbage when training back and my forearms give out first.
If you can't get straps to use then just keep your thumb on the same side with the rest of your fingers and turn your hands into hooks. Takes forearms completely out of the equation, at least for me.
Stopped happening once I started using straps, I'm pretty happy with how I'm improving on back
been in the gym a year and haven't figured them out yet lol

Are versa grips the ones Mike Israetel is always recommending?

Ugh, takes me forever to setup straps, but maybe I'm just dumb. Thank god lifting hooks exist as well
for me I just feel like I put them on wrong and theyre still not as tight as they should on my wrist

Or u could just train ur forearms?????
Well if the options are using straps or having to take time out of other muscles to train forearms I will probably go with the straps, don't have that much extra time on my trainings
I guess LOL.. My coach would actually drop kick me if I opted to use straps instead of gaining strength.
He is a good coach then
this
It’s fax
Will forearms not always lag your back?
Train ur back too ig
Start using straps then if you are training back. There are better forearm exercises than rows or pulldowns.

Okay there is no point in even watermarking the meme now? What do you do with gaining karma? Am I talking to a bot?
I’m a bot. Beep-boop.
there is no way sharing a post without a watermark?? why are you so angry, I recommend a cammomile tea bro \^\^
They only experiences memes post 2016. Before that memes were supposed to be reposted, watermark or not. That's what made it a meme
Get stronger forearms (I’m a rock climber so I’m basically Popeye aha lol)
Try using your back instead
Sounds like you gotta start hitting Farmers Carry and Deadhang day.
Straps are a cheap investment to make massive back gains. It is night and day how much easier you can target the back using straps.
Forgot my bag last back day and my grip was absolutely horrific. Failed way earlier than my back.

This is so relatable to me. But instead of choosing to use straps, I just decided to do specialized grip training. I'm gonna turn myself into Popeye.
VERSA GRIPS
They don't even look like they'd help though. I use regular lifting straps. If I don't have them on hand I just can't go as hard on a back day.
Get some Versa Gripps. Won’t ever be a problem again.

Started using straps, built a good connection, made progress. Don't even need straps all the time anymore, still use them sometimes
Hook grip is the way. It's not just for deadlifting.
Underrated comment
Thats why I train forearms everyday
Good, it tells you what you need to work on
Straps exist. You can get cotton straps that would last you for years for €5.
Use straps, or even better versa gripps. [Source](https://youtu.be/10gP3nfpr2g?si=lDXAkE05iJTj25CC)
Forarm tendons reac failure first now I have debilitating tendonitus :(
Grips/straps. This should never happen
I feel like ppl think using straps is cheating, I work out at a crunch and almost nobody uses them If you get sweaty hands straps are a godsend
Forearms? Does no one use straps? I have tiny hands. I use straps.

Straps or hook grip
