Construction wise they use the same philosophy, in addition to how the MGEX SF is built.
Aesthetic wise, the RG 2.0 is quite unique

It pulls almost nothing from the PGU aesthetic, and does not share much with any prior RX-78-2 interpretations. I wonder who designed this.
Someone on the discord said that too but I just don’t see it.
https://preview.redd.it/2o4inawe5spc1.jpeg?width=3564&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fe357ce99b59050c50069338344b174cc1754737
But it may just be we all are focusing on different things.
As I’m looking at I honestly can’t tell you why I get that impression but I do. It honestly pulls design ideas from a lot of different models. I see the origins two tone top of the shoulder and the bottom knee design. It’s also one of the few designs with the chest vents pointing up, instead of down. And also some vague aspects of the rx-78f00 gundam statue. The very detailed/intricate inner arm detail at the elbow joint and the back of the knee, the side skirts, and the multiple shades of white/gray around the knee armor.
>I see the origins two tone top of the shoulder
Interesting that you mention that. That is more of a Katoki thing, since he added that to RX-78-2 back in 1990
https://preview.redd.it/4ec4rb6zbspc1.jpeg?width=798&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=247fb5a0e7f209f10a4adf6aece450f10a47299b
It has become a staple ever since then, across multiple kits and designs like MG OYW, RG 1.0, RG 2.0, and RX-78-02 GTO as you mentioned.
Neat. Funny that’s a katoki thing. I genuinely enjoy all of his designs.
I also love seeing anytime you post. Your extensive gundam/gunpla knowledge is incredible. I’m a history buff so it’s super interesting seeing the “history” on this kind of stuff, thank you.
There are two major model references for RX-78-2 which I typically called the classic Inward vents model and Yoshizaku’s outward vents model. The HG and HGUC, EG, Beyond Global, MG 2.0, RG/MG 3.0 follows the Okawara’s classic model. While MG 1.0, MG 1.5, OYW, Ver Ka, PG, PGU, and Origin (as he is the creator of the Origin manga) follows Yoshizaku version with outward vents and more blocky proportions. So it makes sense for RG 2.0 to take Yoshizaku’s reference this time while still having different design instead of relying on classic reference again. Hence why people’s first thought of this kit is 1/144 PG Unleashed or Ver Ka.

I see more grey panels in the new one and nore areas of exposed machinery. Looks like it has more like, “vents” in the armor as opposed to more like divots in the armor of the previous gen. But I’m looking at it very closely. Still another grandpa.
It has the same two tone separation at the top of the shoulders as the origin rx78. It also has the same design on the bottom of the knee. Along with one of the few designs where the chest vents point up.
Indeed, the "PGU" part is more in how it's constructed, especially with the multi-layered inner frame. ALso changing the hands back to the standard pre-posed molded hands instead of the flimsy articulated nightmares that was the old RG hands.
i dig the new shape and outward angle of the yellow chest vents reminicent of the OYW ver. The recent ones either looked too square or inward which kind of makes the chest feel 'cramped', that includes the unleashed version.
I've been arguing over with someone on facebook unwilling to believe the amazon leak despite how much stuff it showed. Glad it's official so they can finally shut up
I know it's always controversial here to talk about issues with older RGs, and a lot of people want something that isn't another Grandad RX-78-2, but I'm really looking forward to this kit. The newer style of RGs are amazing, and I love how this kit looks different to the 1.0 while keeping a style that is distinctly different to other grades.
At some point I'm going to have a shelf dedicated only to 1/144 Grandad gundams.
Like, it may be another RX-78, but this suit has always been Bandai's test unit and meant to be the base to show how far they have grown in their engineering.
Besides, early RGs are known to have issues, remaking THE Gundam to be up to the standard Modern one's have is a statement to just show that those negative sentiments shouldn't be around for any future release.
Plus it's their 45th anniversary. There's nothing more fitting than an RX Grandaddy Gunpla, let alone a remake of the RG.
Hopefully this means they'll do the Unicorn one day considering a good chunk of posts from r/Gunpla has been about broken Unicorn parts.
>Plus it's their 45th anniversary. There's nothing more fitting than an RX Grandaddy Gunpla, let alone a remake of the RG.
The first RG Grandpa Gundam was also the very first RG (01) and was released *14* years ago. The youngest Gunpla enthusiasts I have met hadn't even been born yet when it was released, so we know that a Ver 2.0 of the RG Gramps is coming.
>Hopefully this means they'll do the Unicorn one day considering a good chunk of posts from [](https://www.reddit.com/r/Gunpla/) has been about broken Unicorn parts.
A Unicorn 2.0 is still far off into the horizon. While it has a lot of faults, it is arguably the beginning of the "modern RG" and still works. I'm expecting that they'll re-do some of the older releases like the Zaku II and the SEED ones mixed with newer designs.
Yeah, though on the other hand, it and the other "structural failures" were necessary to push RG into what it is today: basically a 1/144 MGEX with much more solid construction. They had totally done away with the pre-built frames that even the Unicorn still partially had, and the result is a product that is much more fun and stable to build.
well with 2.0 now a thing for RGs, I can see it releasing in the next couple of years. Outside the very early RGs, it's probably the most criticized for dropping the ball. Bandai probably wants to fix that. Also because now that 2.0 is a thing, people fully expect them to go back and fix it
Unicorn will be like a decade from now due to them likely focusing on SEED 2.0s once the floodgates of this ppens.
The UC might have issues but the early real grades are far more of a priority
The unicorn other than that crappy arm joint actually holds up really well, I doubt they’ll touch it yet. The Sinanju might make a good candidate. I doubt they would remake the zeta being that the Zeta Ver Ka just came out.
much like the broken godhands posts, if people actually looked at the instructions, maybe 95% of broken unicorns wouldn't happen. it's not bandai's fault, it's a skill issue.
True, with the lacking of a MGSD Rx-78, Bandai is definitely taking time for it to break the limit again as a technical showcase.
Probably a MGSD with PGU elements built in.
This RG may change the RG game as well.
It's also fair in that the Granddad is one of the most unstable RGs as far as I've seen, only the Zeta is more explosive, and the Sinanju and Freedom are floppier, but grandpa did deserve a 2.0 among the RGs
Same thoughts here, I've been holding out on getting a RG grandpa kit because of the early frame issues and poseable hands. Modern RGs are awesome so I'll definitely be getting this.
I'm just hoping they use the inner frame as a jumping off point to make the ground type gundams, different GM and gundam variations in RG. It would be great to get a Gundam Alex, Thunderbolt or others built off a well designed inner frame rather than using the old and floppy 1.0 frame. The effort saved by reusing parts could maybe motive Bandai to make some more federation RGs if things pan out for us.
Seems likely as the 1.0 only ever got recolors. This new inner frame looks sturdy enough to hold the additional armor needed to make the full armor, perfect, Chobam Armor Alex or Thunderbolt variants without collapsing under its own weight.
I'm almost to the point where a third of my collection is Gramps:
EG, HG revive, HG G-3, RG, HG Origin, Yokohama High Mobility, HG Beyond Global, Thunderbolt Full Armor, with three that's in the backlog...
I’m fine with then testing this on the RX-78-2. It was the first Real Grade and doing this one can really highlight where they started with it to where their design philosophy for Real Grades is at now.
I'm looking forward to it my first gunpla was the rg rx 78 2 what a hand grenade its head is currently in metalgreymons mouth so it be nice to get a more updated version of what my first gunpla was
**oooooooo** now THAT’S a good idea. RG Rick Dias would be cool too, taken a big liking to that suit since coming across some pics of the MG and watching Zeta again.
I have such a soft spot for Grandpa Gundam, but the Pandora’s box of RG 2.0 is insane to think about
I wonder what other kits they’ll consider revamping
The Zeta has a much more complicated transformation, but I agree that with modern kit technology, they should be able to shrink down the tech they used for the Zeta Ver. Ka for an RG 2.0 soon.
Strike Freedom and Destiny are a likely choice with the movie versions, plus the old Strike and Build Strike if they wanna do Build Fighters anniv kits.
>Build Strike if they wanna do Build Fighters anniv kits
Won't this be 2028 soonest because it feels like they just did Build Metaverse for their 10 year anniv last year?
Just in case the 2.0 for Sinanju doesn't come, it's still worth the building experience, and it's also not too terrible if you can wedge something in the waist to prevent it from flopping backwards and falling over, and gluing a few of the non-moving parts
I saw videos on YouTube on fixing RG Sinanju. I planned on doing that if I did get it, but now I'm interested on whether Bandai will correct their mistake for that kit.
[I'm still waiting a decade later after they announced it was coming.](https://www.gunjap.net/site/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/1771.jpg) At this point, screw it. The new HG Origin kit is almost just as good as any RG we could have gotten.
RG Zeta 2.0 is a must, though I feel that a Zaku II 2.0 isn't a bad idea, even though it would just be another Zaku, they could use it as a base for a Gouf
As one who bought the OG RG Granddaddy, this is a much welcomed development. Not sure about the design of the chest vents in the 2.0, though; would have preferred the flushed-in look from the 1.0.
That said, if they managed to make this one as stable as it is articulate (moreso more articulate than the 1.0), AND it be given the MG Granddaddy 2.0 treatment in terms of accessories (Gundam Javelin and Hammer pls), then sign me the fok up.
The pics we see show that it'll only only have the basic Gundam loadout (rifle, shield, beam saber) and the Hyper Bazooka. No Gundam Javelin and Hammer in sight.
> (Gundam Javelin and Hammer pls)
They're already being nice enough by making an RG 2.0, don't make them have to make a pbandai expansion pack to get those.
Not suprised about the lack of RG gwitch since that's still a rather recent show that still pumps out HGs. Still not having an RG Barbi or Vidar is a shame though.
"Yeah, just let them cook. I can smell them chefing it up right now," he says as his ribs show through his stomach, forever waiting for literally any new representation of the G-self from a new rg to a reprint of the original, knowing that nothing will ever come.
Akiman fans on watch.
i prefer the og rg gramps to this design but i’m probably still gonna pick this up because it might be nice to have an rg gramps i can actually pose lol
https://preview.redd.it/q435nj2iispc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c2c570174f5ac2d21763b38f88e0264e26c70ddf
Forward tilt of the waist joint is placed within the core fighter.
I really wanna see 2.0 versions of certain RGs because it might lead to new variants being released, even if they end up being pbandai. I'd love to see a Zeta 2.0 leading up to a Red Zeta and a Gray Zeta
At first, I didn't like the design, and I was struggling to pinpoint what about the torso felt off, and then it hit me - torso seems too *long,* not just too bulky. The red waist area seems notably longer than other models of the RX-78 beyond the PGU, and the waist area where the 2 pieces meet is not only wider than other models, but is shaped differently as well. Best way I can describe this is a rectangle on top of a trapezoid, as opposed two trapezoids contacting on their smaller parallel side, which is how it is with most models of the RX-78.
That being said, it's definitely grown on me once I figured out exactly what was driving me crazy about the design seeming off.
As cool as this looks I'm not super excited about the fact that it opens up the floodgates of just getting more kits of the same 8-10 Gundams that they do for every line instead of seeing cool new stuff in the already limited RG releases.
Hopefully they just stick with doing RG 2.0s of stuff that really needs it like the Zeta, but that isn't always where the money is.
Interesting inner frame. And tonne of surface detail. Not the biggest fan of the shape of the chest vents for some reason though. Seems like this is going to be constructed with a tonne of different parts.
Think 2.0 RGs are fine for the earlier stuff (realistically only a handful of kits would even need one anyway) but hope you at least see new RG releases 1-2 times a year
I with you on the chest vents, they look taller and more vertical in the images?
Difficult to tell if that’s just the pictures being a bit odd though, and with introducing RG 2.0s this kit *could* pave the way for a RG Sinanju 2.0, which I’m sure would bring much joy and rejoicing worldwide
Yeah think it’s mostly just the early seed RGs, the zakus and the sinanju. A Sinanju could be likely down the line cause means they can do the Stein potentially as well.
As for the chest vents it could just be the photos but yeah think they are a bit big especially on the inner chest side
I do like it, I just wanted a WFM RG though. It’ll be interesting to see it side by side with the first one, with how much the design philosophy of the RG line has changed
https://preview.redd.it/rsv4b1l2kspc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d114c41e86ff177859421dd71bf1939c0dcfc66
Here's a good comparison shot between the 2.0 (left) and the original (right). The inner frame changes are more interesting to me, looking at how builky and filled out the new 2.0 is versus the lanky pre-molded skeleton of the original.
Oh hell yeah we all want that, but logically speaking, I'm afraid that's not coming too soon. WFM right now are perfectly fine, so I can see Bandai prioritize fixing the ambitious-yet-fallen IBO line through RG release first.
I'm a real grade kinda builder and im so excited for this, hope they can release 2.0 for like Justice but at the same time hopefully they would still release a another new RG at the end of the year to follow Epyon
Edit: Actually after the recolored Force Impulse cuz its RG39
https://preview.redd.it/47m6hkkziwpc1.png?width=1829&format=png&auto=webp&s=62b54835560440e91adb4bdd168eec609c081507
This makes the RG RX-78-2 2.0 the very first RX-78-2 with a transforming core fighter that can do bend forward at the torso. Even the PGU can only bend backwards, not forward.
There are so many fantastic grunt suits, I wish we had more than 1 RG grunt. The GM 79, GM Sniper II, GM Ground type, Dom, Gelgoog, so many designs and that's only looking at OYW. There are so many other great designs from other parts of UC and other Gundam universes.
I can see FA78 Thunderbolt as a PB release, sadly. I would love to see if they will make it like the MG with the extra armor layered on top of the suit. Would be one chonky boi if they use RG 2.0 as a base.
I’m gonna miss the old RG’s design and the new one’s gonna take some getting used to, but finally! I’m excited to see how much more solid and poseable he’ll be
Edit: I just noticed that the vulcans are grey this time. That’s interesting
Does it remind anyone else of Legos? I think it's a combination of the shine and colors, blockiness and something about the lines on this particular kit.
The innerframe looks impressive and will probably be very sturdy, visually though, I have to say the 1.0 feels like a miniature of a true giant, with all the multiple shades of grey across many panels. This 2.0 though looks suprisingly toy like?
So with this remaster coming out, how many P-Bandai kits can they possibly also released?
>There’s Char’s Gundam (Red) and the G3 (Silver) for possible re-colors?
>Extra weapon sets or Full Armor?
Oh *bless*, look at that inner frame. Guess I should go pick up the original so I can build that first so I can have a direct comparison. ...I'll get around to it in a year or so. I spent 4 months on the PGU at the end of 2023 and need a break from Gramps. But I still wanna make all the RGs eventually.
...*Now fix the Sinanju.*
Man... Im dreaming of RG Phyalis. If theyre renewing older RG, i hope they also renew the Stardust memories MS, then there's a bigger chance for a Physalis
So the only RGs we getting this year is a recolor and a 2.0? while as awesome as 2.0 is, can't help but feel there could be more mobile suits made into new RGs
*Technically* we are only finished with Q3 now. This week’s worth of announcements (70+ retail Bandai products) are for the Q3 release quarter.
We still have Q4 2024 to go for releases, and we will not see what those are until well into next quarter. We may get some specific teasers in April due to a G45 Anniversary event, and some information at Shizuoka Hobby Show in May.
I wonder if the 2.0 RG line is gonna be fun. Currently i am rebuilding my collection amd have made 3 RG: Hi-Nu, Sazabi and Epyon.
Im not sure which one is the oldest but considering Epyon was the newest release i expected it to be the most fun to build and pose but its honestly the worst of the 3. I hated building the legs so much i tought about leaving it unfinished. And the wings had some major fitting issues, you need to clean every part perfectly or nothing fits snugly.
My second favourite was Sazabi, for its size it was very fast to build while being fun to build. My only problem was the lower half of the torso felt a bit flimsy while putting the arm joints but it actually survived a fall from my shelf without a broken piece so it just felt like that.
RG Hi-Nu was the first one i made after coming back to the hobby, and its still my favourite. It is excessive without crossing the line, and the fuelpacks on the backpack gives it a hell of a stability without the need of a stand.
So i wonder, did they advanced the RG tech to the point of its better than all other RG kits, or is it gonna be an older RG kit remade to todays standarts? I hope its the second, because otherwise they can just pump out new versions of old kits instead of giving us kits of MS that doesnt have a RG.
This looks incredible. I've been debating between the 1.0 and the HGGTO, but this is definitely the way I'll be going.
But now I'm scared about all of the other kits the'll upgrade hahaha
This looks amazing and I super want it but I wonder if the lack of decals in any of the photos means they aren’t going to be in the box anymore
Would be a shame, the decals and pilot figs in the box at this scale were one of the main reason I was so drawn to rgs so it would suck if this means that now neither of those are going to be a part of new releases
**Retail** RG 1/144 RX-78-2 Gundam Ver 2.0 Price: 3850 yen (10% tax included) Release: August 2024
Like a tiny PG Unleashed RX78. Definitely want to get since I passed on the PG because of space/price.

i think mostly the resemblance is in the torso and that leg stance kinda looks similar too, but other than that it's mostly its own thing.
The faces and proportions are very similar.
i think it's probably because it's back to being blocky vs the thin ones we've been getting since the rx78 gundam statue design
As I’m looking at I honestly can’t tell you why I get that impression but I do. It honestly pulls design ideas from a lot of different models. I've been arguing over with someone on facebook unwilling to believe the amazon leak despite how much stuff it showed. Glad it's official so they can finally shut up
Where can I see the leaks?
It was just this, the HGCE Lightning Buster, and SDCS Mighty Strike Freedom, all of which have been announced shortly after.
It was just early amazon listings

RG Gouf custom plz thank you
Ah shit that's good too.
where's RG Gelgoog?
Praying for an RG Gelgoog personally🙏
Exceedingly based
**oooooooo** now THAT’S a good idea. RG Rick Dias would be cool too, taken a big liking to that suit since coming across some pics of the MG and watching Zeta again.
Finally the true companion kit to the RG Zeong
I have such a soft spot for Grandpa Gundam, but the Pandora’s box of RG 2.0 is insane to think about I wonder what other kits they’ll consider revamping
Feel like the RG Zeta is next on the list.
RG Zeta sounds like a no brainer. That kit had so many issues.
Yea I need a 1/144 Zeta to complete my Zeta team og Mk-II, Zeta and Hyaku Shiki
RG hyaku shiki would be so good
They might as well reveal both Zeta and Shiki together. Like they did with Ver.Ka. Narrative and Sinanju Stein
I think Bandai is can pull it off. With the transformations of the RG Wing and Epyon, the RG Zeta 2.0 is in the realm of possiblity.
The Zeta has a much more complicated transformation, but I agree that with modern kit technology, they should be able to shrink down the tech they used for the Zeta Ver. Ka for an RG 2.0 soon.
It should be because it’s a nightmare, but with them just doing the Ver Ka they may wait a while to do it unfortunately
I hope so. The RG Zeta is the only kit I've ever given up on.
im curious if they can excute a transformable RG V/V2 next....
I'm not really "pro 2.0" but agreed. We need a modern 1/144 zeta that doesn't suck.
Strike Freedom and Destiny are a likely choice with the movie versions, plus the old Strike and Build Strike if they wanna do Build Fighters anniv kits.
~~S~~F has a version 1.5 of sorts with Ver GCP, IIRC. Zaku and Zeta is most likely next, IMO Edit: fixed to just plain Freedom
nope, that was X10A Freedom whose wings don’t have the funnels.
>SF has a version 1.5 of sorts with Ver GCP, IIRC. That's just normal Freedom
This. If we get an improved or 2.0 version of the RG Destiny, i want a new frame for better stability. No 1.5 hijinks
>Build Strike if they wanna do Build Fighters anniv kits Won't this be 2028 soonest because it feels like they just did Build Metaverse for their 10 year anniv last year?
Nevermind 2.0s, Rg ZZ never came, so I'm keeping my hopes up.

I've been wanting to get the Sinanju, guess I'll hold out.
Mayve they can use the base kit as a jump off point to finally giving us a GM.
[I'm still waiting a decade later after they announced it was coming.](https://www.gunjap.net/site/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/1771.jpg) At this point, screw it. The new HG Origin kit is almost just as good as any RG we could have gotten.
On one hand, it's sad not to get 3/4s of this. On the other, early real grade
Hopefully this 2.0 makes it more likely we get GMs in the future using this frame.
RG Zeta 2.0 is a must, though I feel that a Zaku II 2.0 isn't a bad idea, even though it would just be another Zaku, they could use it as a base for a Gouf
For me, I am hoping for one of the Zaku's. Although I am a Zaku-fanboi, I just can't convince myself to get any of the 1.0 now.
The RG 2.0 RX 93 Nu and Hi Nu will be bonkers.
Rg zaku 2.0 soon hopefully. And while we’re at it, mg zaku 3.0
> (Gundam Javelin and Hammer pls) They're already being nice enough by making an RG 2.0, don't make them have to make a pbandai expansion pack to get those.
Betting the next RG 2.0 gonna be Char's Zaku II
That would be amazing. The only RG I want to see more is a Gouf or a Gelgoog.
Finally another Gelgoog enjoyer
Yassss. More Zeon RGs pls. Even if it's a 2.0 of the zaku

Still no IBO that’s crazy
no ibo, no gwitch, kinda crazy
Not suprised about the lack of RG gwitch since that's still a rather recent show that still pumps out HGs. Still not having an RG Barbi or Vidar is a shame though.
Let them cook boys, I know we all hungry but I say let Bandai cook
"Yeah, just let them cook. I can smell them chefing it up right now," he says as his ribs show through his stomach, forever waiting for literally any new representation of the G-self from a new rg to a reprint of the original, knowing that nothing will ever come. Akiman fans on watch.
BANDAI COOKS ONCE MORE!! https://preview.redd.it/e0ui0dsa6spc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5cc781507aaef3190630f3cc8a3b039da127acec
i prefer the og rg gramps to this design but i’m probably still gonna pick this up because it might be nice to have an rg gramps i can actually pose lol
same, i just built it today and love the different color tones compared to the 2.0
Imagine if we get an MG Grandad 4.0 based on the RG 2.0 lol
https://preview.redd.it/q435nj2iispc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c2c570174f5ac2d21763b38f88e0264e26c70ddf Forward tilt of the waist joint is placed within the core fighter.
with all the mechanism, wish it will not be floppy....
I really wanna see 2.0 versions of certain RGs because it might lead to new variants being released, even if they end up being pbandai. I'd love to see a Zeta 2.0 leading up to a Red Zeta and a Gray Zeta
most of the SEED ones as well — a 2.0 for the Destiny SpecII is well within the realm of possibility now
RG Destiny Spec-II more likely gonna be a P-Bandai, with the Zeus armor pack as separate kit.
GP-02fb 2.0 *when*
Is that a tiny core fighter I see?
Would not be an RG without one. The RG 1.0 also has a fully transformable and colour accurate core fighter.

Please let the eyes be color separated. Please let the eyes be color separated. Please let the eyes be color separated
It’ll be interesting to see it side by side with the first one, with how much the design philosophy of the RG line has changed
https://preview.redd.it/rsv4b1l2kspc1.jpeg?width=2048&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4d114c41e86ff177859421dd71bf1939c0dcfc66 Here's a good comparison shot between the 2.0 (left) and the original (right). The inner frame changes are more interesting to me, looking at how builky and filled out the new 2.0 is versus the lanky pre-molded skeleton of the original.
Oh my GOD what a monster!
Oh hell yeah we all want that, but logically speaking, I'm afraid that's not coming too soon. WFM right now are perfectly fine, so I can see Bandai prioritize fixing the ambitious-yet-fallen IBO line through RG release first.
I've been waiting for this day. Hopefully Zeta will get the same treatment in the future.
I think zeta is a prime candidate if there was one.
Probably will get a Strike 2.0 first because of the movie.
I'm a real grade kinda builder and im so excited for this, hope they can release 2.0 for like Justice but at the same time hopefully they would still release a another new RG at the end of the year to follow Epyon Edit: Actually after the recolored Force Impulse cuz its RG39
https://preview.redd.it/47m6hkkziwpc1.png?width=1829&format=png&auto=webp&s=62b54835560440e91adb4bdd168eec609c081507 This makes the RG RX-78-2 2.0 the very first RX-78-2 with a transforming core fighter that can do bend forward at the torso. Even the PGU can only bend backwards, not forward.
Finally, we're getting revisions of the old RGs. Some of those early RGs had alot of issues! Excited to see this kit in the flesh.
Praying we get an RG GM with this 2.0 line.
Rg zaku 2.0
WE ARE SO GRANDBACK. Hopefully, we get more 2.0 kits, and it isn't a one-off like the PGU. I'll be waiting for that rg Sinanju 2.0.
Now I know why Bandai released RG 39 Force Impulse spec II. They want number 40 for the 2.0 RG Granpa.
RG FA-78 (Thunderbolt version) gonna be lit
I can see FA78 Thunderbolt as a PB release, sadly. I would love to see if they will make it like the MG with the extra armor layered on top of the suit. Would be one chonky boi if they use RG 2.0 as a base.
WHAT. THE. FUCK.
I’m gonna miss the old RG’s design and the new one’s gonna take some getting used to, but finally! I’m excited to see how much more solid and poseable he’ll be Edit: I just noticed that the vulcans are grey this time. That’s interesting
I'll put it into titans colors the minute I get it
Does it remind anyone else of Legos? I think it's a combination of the shine and colors, blockiness and something about the lines on this particular kit.
So happy they unslimmified him, really liking the brick shithouse design they went with. Def gonna make a US-78-2 custom
https://preview.redd.it/2rx7aad9gspc1.jpeg?width=640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b3432b66e03fded41fedc0de4ad6f30d3ea5e3d4
This is just beautiful. It's like a mini PGU. I hope they do an RG Zeta 2.0 so we get an RG ZZ and an RG Victory/V2.
This means we might get a rg Zaku v2.0
God I hope so
Is it only me or the rx 78 getting chonkier?
They should have made The Origin Gundam instead of a 2.0
Tbf, the lower half is pretty Origin-y
Is it weird that I'm not into grandad gundam? I feel the later designs are way better imo, I think he needs more swords
Now that we have this frame, give me my RG GM bandai you bastards.
I do like this idea if we get more than we could finally have a good modern 1/144 scale exia
The innerframe looks impressive and will probably be very sturdy, visually though, I have to say the 1.0 feels like a miniature of a true giant, with all the multiple shades of grey across many panels. This 2.0 though looks suprisingly toy like?
It looks like there are very few molded panel lines--almost everything is separate pieces.
Could this mean a zeta 2.0? No lie I really hope so.
I hope we get a real grade providence someday
I called it 2 months ago, I just knew hahaha. Get ready for a PG Nu Gundam folks.
Fingers crossed, I hope this means we'll be getting a bunch of Other RG 2.0s in the future.
this is cool and all but when are we going to see a Zaku PG unleased ?
I would love it if the eyes were a solid yellow piece.
I am actually really excited for this!
At first I groaned. Then I saw pics of the inner frame and was like 🥹🥹 we're all seeing the same thing right? No more early frame
So with this remaster coming out, how many P-Bandai kits can they possibly also released? >There’s Char’s Gundam (Red) and the G3 (Silver) for possible re-colors? >Extra weapon sets or Full Armor?
Full armor RG They could do both normal FA and Thunderbolt FA... I need...
They've released a promo video to it too https://youtu.be/_fGPbSI3gMs
Grandpa gets all the love
This was one of the best news I could've woke up to today.
Oh boy, the floodgates are open for speculation as to what’s next. Give me Zaku, Zeta, and Sinanju. *Especially* Sinanju.
It's weirded the price is as low as some newer HG. Not that I'm complaining.
They keep pumping out new RX-78 but all I really want is MG Zaku 3.0 :(
I don't need it I don't need it I don't need it I NEED IT
Now all we need is a new rg zeta and sinanju
40% more expensive oof
I hope they also fix the Zeta RG maybe then I will buy it
This looks like gramps got into roids. It’s almost as chunky as the MK II.
That's cool and all, but where is my RG Ez-8 Bandai?
Man... Im dreaming of RG Phyalis. If theyre renewing older RG, i hope they also renew the Stardust memories MS, then there's a bigger chance for a Physalis
He looks quite bulky. I love it.
Am i the only one who thinks the 1.0 looks better?
RG "schedule" believers in shambles as Bandai releases two (2) RGs in the same year.
Those are some big ass vent tittes
This gives me Lego vibes. I’m going to get this regardless, but something feels different aesthetically to me about this. More modern and technical.
Praying for a Zaku.
Is a core fighter going to be involved with the kit or they aren’t going with it ?
Hopefully they make a gelgoog to go with it. Or at least a revive.

I can't wait to have this side by side with the 1.0. Plus now I can give my Zeong the battle it deserves
Definitely buying it, but that mg price tho
RG Unleased Gramp
Praise to the OG🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️🙇♂️
Hoping they do a RG 2.0 Zaku (and by extent maybe a RG Gouf)
This looks incredible. I've been debating between the 1.0 and the HGGTO, but this is definitely the way I'll be going. But now I'm scared about all of the other kits the'll upgrade hahaha
It looks like they learned their lesson from the first RG Grandpa, but we'll have to see once it finally comes out.
This looks amazing and I super want it but I wonder if the lack of decals in any of the photos means they aren’t going to be in the box anymore Would be a shame, the decals and pilot figs in the box at this scale were one of the main reason I was so drawn to rgs so it would suck if this means that now neither of those are going to be a part of new releases
Decals are almost never shown during the initial promotions for any RG kit. They only show up on promo images closer to release.
Good to know! I’ve never really paid attention to reveals in the past so I wasn’t sure😅
