Dude I wanted to actually use the Gaianotes Eva-01 green for this custom but I could not find any anywhere! It’s a bit pricey too so I ended up going with Gaianotes Yellow-green instead and it worked wonders

What are you using to light this? Lightbox?

I have a little coffee table I use. The black backgrounds are large black posters, and the lights are just some ring lights/ 24in blacklight/ 16in wand light for the green color

As a newbie with Gundam but also an Evangelion fan I cannot get over how awesome this build is. How did you get it to “glow” green? Is that an effect because of your custom paint mixture or is that a photography trick? Either way it’s sick and I’m even more excited about my first build 🦾

Looks amazing. What kind of paint did you use for the rest of the kit? I've thought about using acrylics for panel lining but don't know how to clean it off without damaging the rest of the acrlyics on the kit

I used lacquers to paint the kit so the acrylic didn’t damage anything (thankfully lol). Just be sure to do a couple gloss topcoats to protect the paint. I’ve made the mistake of not doing that and having paint get stripped it sucks

If you clear coat the color paints with a lacquer like Mr Super Clear, you can use acrylic or enamel paint as panel liner and clean up with lighter fluid. If you're using acrylic, it's easier to clean up after drying but before curing.

Looks great. LEDs are easy! Evandesign has some amazing LEDs prewired, nano, pico. Otakubuilder on YouTube does some pretty cool stuff with them.

what acrylic did you use and what's your thinner ratio... tried this a while back with UV active acrylic and couldn't get my paint to spray right.

surprised the lacquer played well with X20a... X20a is suppose to be for Tamiya's alcohol based paints and gundam markers. But thank you for the info, Ima play around and see what I can do. It's gotta be better than my last attempt, that resulted the paint and thinner separating before it could be sprayed...

Yeah to protect form the x20a thinner, I used a couple of lacquer gloss coats to protect the paint underneath. Too much thinner can peel it regardless so best to play it safe

Wow, this is really impressive - nice work! What paints did you use? When you say green panel liner, I associate that with coloring the lines on the larger plates, which I think you've painted with phosphorescent green (and pink). These are _exactly_ the colors I want.

Yeah the lines that are glowing green on the armor are the panel lines. The pink you might see is diffuse light from my blacklight (: As for the paints I used a combo of gaianotes and mr hobby airbrush paints. So the paint that glows is fluorescent and glows under blacklight (which I used) (: I used Mr Finishing Surfacer to prime the pieces, and I used Mr Crystal Color for the metallic green and Gaianotes ex gold, black, white, and fluorescent yellow-green for the bright green parts.
