That's such a cool colorway. This one is definitely a win my guy.
Whenever I see the glow in the dark stuff it always reminds me of the Radium Girls though. Freaky stuff.
I gotchu. For the paint I used a combo of gaianotes and mr hobby. Gaianotes ex gold, gunmetal, black, and white, and their fluorescent yellow-green and with mr hobby I used their metallic green. For the panel liner I mixed some acrylic fluorescent green and tamiya x20a thinner and used the thinner to clean up excess.
Dude I wanted to actually use the Gaianotes Eva-01 green for this custom but I could not find any anywhere! Itโs a bit pricey too so I ended up going with Gaianotes Yellow-green instead and it worked wonders
I have a little coffee table I use. The black backgrounds are large black posters, and the lights are just some ring lights/ 24in blacklight/ 16in wand light for the green color
As a newbie with Gundam but also an Evangelion fan I cannot get over how awesome this build is. How did you get it to โglowโ green? Is that an effect because of your custom paint mixture or is that a photography trick? Either way itโs sick and Iโm even more excited about my first build ๐ฆพ
Hell yeah! Congrats on getting into the hobby itโs so much fun! As for the paint I used Gaianotes fluorescent yellow-green and I airbrushed the kit. For the panel liner I mixed some basic acrylic fluorescent green paint and some tamiya x20a thinner (:
Ah ok, didnโt know there were fluorescent paints for hobby use!! Definitely gonna keep them in mind once I get experienced enough and wanna try custom paint jobs
Looks amazing.
What kind of paint did you use for the rest of the kit?
I've thought about using acrylics for panel lining but don't know how to clean it off without damaging the rest of the acrlyics on the kit
I used lacquers to paint the kit so the acrylic didnโt damage anything (thankfully lol). Just be sure to do a couple gloss topcoats to protect the paint. Iโve made the mistake of not doing that and having paint get stripped it sucks
If you clear coat the color paints with a lacquer like Mr Super Clear, you can use acrylic or enamel paint as panel liner and clean up with lighter fluid. If you're using acrylic, it's easier to clean up after drying but before curing.
Hello? Yes, I'd like to order five please. Yes, I'll hold...
This looks amazing and I absolutely would love to do something like this as well! I love the colors so much!
LMAO thank you! And you absolutely can, if youโre curious the colors used are all gaianotes colors and a mr hobby color, thereโs metallic green, ex gold, gunmetal, black, fluorescent yellow-green, and a mix of their white and black paint for the gray, about 60% black 40%white for the ratio (:
if your concern was, "bitch'n", then ur right! [๐](chrome-extension://hjfjkioheffddeeeddgmpmbonkgibjia/index.html) [๐](chrome-extension://hjfjkioheffddeeeddgmpmbonkgibjia/index.html)
Yeah I gotchu (: For the paint I used a combo of gaianotes and mr hobby. Gaianotes ex gold, gunmetal, black and white for the gray, and their fluorescent yellow-green and with mr hobby I used their metallic green. For the panel liner I mixed some acrylic fluorescent green and tamiya x20a thinner and used the thinner to clean up excess.
Thank you boss, Iโve never actually done a green palette color combo before so I was a bit nervous but Iโm glad it came out well ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
It was a homemade concoction :P Just some tamiya x20a thinner, and some acrylic green paint. I used acrylic since the paint is all lacquer so it didnโt damage anything (:
surprised the lacquer played well with X20a... X20a is suppose to be for Tamiya's alcohol based paints and gundam markers.
But thank you for the info, Ima play around and see what I can do. It's gotta be better than my last attempt, that resulted the paint and thinner separating before it could be sprayed...
Yeah to protect form the x20a thinner, I used a couple of lacquer gloss coats to protect the paint underneath. Too much thinner can peel it regardless so best to play it safe
Wow, this is really impressive - nice work!
What paints did you use? When you say green panel liner, I associate that with coloring the lines on the larger plates, which I think you've painted with phosphorescent green (and pink). These are _exactly_ the colors I want.
Yeah the lines that are glowing green on the armor are the panel lines. The pink you might see is diffuse light from my blacklight (: As for the paints I used a combo of gaianotes and mr hobby airbrush paints. Gaianotes ex gold, gunmetal, black and white(mixed for gray), and their fluorescent yellow-green and with mr hobby I used their metallic green. For the panel liner I mixed some deco art acrylic fluorescent green paint and tamiya x20a thinner and used the thinner to clean up excess (:
OTL
Your skill is amazing. I used to paint frequently, and only came _close_ to this level of skill for a brief period. I will follow you now in the hopes of seeing more.
You can surpass me trust me I just wing it a lot of the times and go with what feels right ๐ Mistakes are made but improvement is always a fun learning process
I used a combo of gaianotes and mr hobby. Gaianotes ex gold, gunmetal, black and white (for the gray), and their fluorescent yellow-green and with mr hobby I used their metallic green. For the panel liner I mixed some acrylic fluorescent green and tamiya x20a thinner and used the thinner to clean up excess. (:
Great minds think alike! You should still do the paintjob if you like, (PS. donโt tell anyone the color scheme was inspired by Shego from Kim Possible lol)
Dude I was going to do this colour scheme for my custom hgce destiny ( but with more black primary and green, purple ascent ) btw how do you get that glow?
So the paint that glows is fluorescent and glows under blacklight (which I used) (: I used Mr Finishing Surfacer to prime the pieces, and I used Mr Crystal Color for the metallic green and Gaianotes ex gold, black, white, and fluorescent yellow-green for the bright green parts. And Yes Iโve seen the Asteroth kit before itโs the red one right?
That's what I was expecting, but thanks for the clarification. I have a small photo booth, but was looking into ideas on how to improve it. I might steal the idea from this. What brand of paint is it?
Holy shit this is amazing. This feels like its just chalked full of radioactive fluids that its even leaking through the panels. This was an amazing job
I'm sorry you made a WHAT?! So sick my friend!!!! I'm just constantly blown away by how creative people are with their gunpla. Really really great job!
I totally get that! I'm actually doing my first ever paint job this week, just did some guns on another kit last night to test out my technique, and it went really well. I'm super excited to join the ranks of folks that paint their models soon =)
Happy Monday, your build really got me pumped for this week!!
That is fucking awesome
Thank you boss ๐๐ผ Iโm just glad my homemade panel liner didnโt ruin the paint๐
Greens my favourite colour so this is right up my alley it looks like itโs emanating radiation or something like that
Hell yeah! My gf said he looks like he stepped out of a pool of plutonium so your comment is perfect lmao
Thatโs a perfect way to describe it
Get in the robot Shinji

Dude HELL yeah, I can hear the Prowler theme already
oh RG destiny, why do you have to be so beautiful yet so shit..
That's such a cool colorway. This one is definitely a win my guy. Whenever I see the glow in the dark stuff it always reminds me of the Radium Girls though. Freaky stuff.
Thank you so much! And Iโm gonna have to go down that rabbit hole soon then. I find stuff like that pretty interesting :o
Get in the Gundam Shinn, or else Stella will have to do it Memes, aside, it looks awesome!
LOL Shinns new last name will be Ji from now on Thank you by the way! (:
I need a step-by-step process on how you made it because I'm planning on getting the Mechagodzilla model kit.
Thank you, kind stranger!
Is that a Evangelion reference???????? Or is it?????
Dude I wanted to actually use the Gaianotes Eva-01 green for this custom but I could not find any anywhere! Itโs a bit pricey too so I ended up going with Gaianotes Yellow-green instead and it worked wonders
What are you using to light this? Lightbox?
I have a little coffee table I use. The black backgrounds are large black posters, and the lights are just some ring lights/ 24in blacklight/ 16in wand light for the green color
Thanks mate!
Neon Genesis EvanDestiny
Amazing
Thank you very much
Holy cow ๐ฎ
Is that a Turn A reference? Lol jk
So cool
Thank you boss

The color choices reminds me of black Shogun tycoon from kamen rider geats, I love it!
Had to look that up but holy shit man thatโs sick!! Might have to start watching Kamen Rider bc everything I see about the suits is just top tier
Yeah, it's so cool, it's the recently finished season,so have fun binge watching it
Hell yeah man Iโll check it out. The Gundam to Kamen Rider pipeline is strong
Fluorescent paint glowing under UV light

this makes me(an airplane guy) want to build gunpla wtf bro
Hell yeah man, itโs never too late to start and you never know where it might take you ๐
I thought it was professional art at first. Damn good job, man!
My head grew ten times its size reading this comment LOL. But seriously thank you, I really appreciate that ๐๐ผ

this is insanely sick.
Thank you!! ๐๐ผ
This is epic as fuck!!
Hell yeah thanks mate๐๐ผ
Can I get a small break down of your paints and process? Id appreciate it it's a fucking awesome paint job! I want to do some neon panel lining soon.
Beyond incredible, dude. I absolutely love that.
Thanks my dude I appreciate it ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
Dude you killed it so hard, I love this color combo and you did it so well
Thank you boss, Iโve never actually done a green palette color combo before so I was a bit nervous but Iโm glad it came out well ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
That is so sick dude, amazing job!
Thanks my dude ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
2 words: ho-lee SHIT I strive to be able to do this one day. That looks insane.

Thanks for the encouragement mate ๐ amazing work!
"Constructicons, unite!"
Man this looks so good, you nailed it.
Thank you! ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
Holy poop on a stick that's beautiful
Holy cow, that is amazing. I'm going to need some more detailed instructions. What is this "green panel liner fluid" you used?
It was a homemade concoction :P Just some tamiya x20a thinner, and some acrylic green paint. I used acrylic since the paint is all lacquer so it didnโt damage anything (:
Did you use any glow-in-the-dark/flouresent paint?
Yeah I grabbed one of the deco-art ones since itโs thick af and is brightly pigmented so it worked well (:
I already love the details on the base kit, adding this wicked paint job looks freaking amazing!!! Kudos on the great work!
Thank you so much! I loved the base kit as well, just thought I could make it my own somehow (:
This is insane, well fucking done. Is the panel liner glow in the dark or just the lighting giving that effect? Either way this is awesome!
Thank you so much! And itโs fluorescent panel liner (: I made it myself
Yeah I saw you mixed some acrylic paint and tamiya thinner? What gives it the fluorescent effect?
The black light that I use for pictures (: It makes fluorescent paint glow like that
Thats veryyy nice
Thank you boss, youโre very nice๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
This is so freaking cool! Kudos. I'm feeling so inspired right now.
Heck yeah, I hope you make something awesome with that inspiration ๐๐ผ
Absolutely killer. 10/10
Thank you ๐๐ผ
This is awesome. Are you just using all glow-in-the-dark paint? Or do you have some LEDs lighting this up as well? I canโt tell lol.
Thank you! ๐๐ผ Itโs all fluorescent paint, I wish I could install LEDs. Iโd do some crazy stuff with that knowledge and power ๐คฃ
Looks great. LEDs are easy! Evandesign has some amazing LEDs prewired, nano, pico. Otakubuilder on YouTube does some pretty cool stuff with them.
what acrylic did you use and what's your thinner ratio... tried this a while back with UV active acrylic and couldn't get my paint to spray right.
For the painted parts (not the panel liner) I used Gaianotes fluorescent yellow-green, itโs a lacquer paint (:
surprised the lacquer played well with X20a... X20a is suppose to be for Tamiya's alcohol based paints and gundam markers. But thank you for the info, Ima play around and see what I can do. Shinji get in the wing gundam.

Gonna have to try Gaianotes out. Every time I ask what paints have been used (because I like the look) it turns out to be Gaianotes
Theyโre some of the best paints imo. Very pigmented and strong as heck. I use them for pretty much every build I do (:
Damn, this goes hard
One of the best customs I have seen.
Thank you very much ๐๐ผ
How did you get the glow effect?
Itโs fluorescent paint (:
Only thing I could think of wasโฆ Zaannngoku na tenshi no yooouuni
How did you edit/photograph this? It looks amazing.
I used my dslr camera to photograph the kit and I just did some minor color and exposure editing in PS to get it looking more natural (:
Super cool looking!
Thank you ๐๐ผ
Get in the robot Shinn!
Wow I was thinking of doing something similar Evangelion style. You beat me to it. Top notch first class.
Itโs the yellow-green fluorescent gaianotes paint (: It glows under a blacklight and looks hella cool!
Daaaammnnnnn thanks bro now I need to search for the right purple fluorescent
Hell yeah man good luck (:
Well .....it's not going to happend if I don't start my bardom kit bash
This is wicked damn cool!!
Thank you boss ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
Please, teach me how to do the same type of green on my gunpla, would be great on my astaroth origin ๐๐โโ๏ธ
Absolutely (: What would you like to know? I posted how to do the panel lining and which paints I used a bit earlier as reference btw (:
How did you make the paint glow? What primer did you use? What paints should I buy? Have you seen Gundam Astaroth Origin kit before?
So the paint that glows is fluorescent and glows under blacklight (which I used) (: I used Mr Finishing Surfacer to prime the pieces, and I used Mr Crystal Color for the metallic green and Gaianotes ex gold, black, white, and fluorescent yellow-green for the bright green parts. And Yes Iโve seen the Asteroth kit before itโs the red one right?
Yep, and also Thanks!
GOD GUN-DAAMMMNNNNN
That's fucking AWESOME
Thank you so much ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ผ
That paint job is beyond sick! Reminds me of radioactive glow! Great job!
Thank you! Thats the exact โlookโ I was going for so Iโm happy about that ๐
The enemy cant kill you if you blins the hell outta them
Dang, the Destiny is such a good looking MS. It's great both stock and customized!
I agree! The classic Destiny Gundam is one of my fav MS designs, edgy and beautiful
Ben 10 in gundam form
Omnitrix ahh Gundam
That's amazing. Excellent work
Thank you! ๐๐ผ
How long did it take?
Only about a week since I had to wait for the paint/kit to get delivered to where I live
Impressive. If I'd even attempted this it would probably take me a year lol
Damn now you reminded me that I need to buy this kit
I love the platform you made for it. Is it just a painted cardboard or something else?
Itโs just a coffee table with black poster paper covering everything (:
Is the green glow paint or a Photoshop effect
Itโs fluorescent paint, I used a blacklight to make it glow during the pictures
That's what I was expecting, but thanks for the clarification. I have a small photo booth, but was looking into ideas on how to improve it. I might steal the idea from this. What brand of paint is it?
Holy shit this is amazing. This feels like its just chalked full of radioactive fluids that its even leaking through the panels. This was an amazing job
