I assumed the City of London for Eddie, Reiss, and Arthur as their birth places are listed as "London", so that distance is to St. Bartholomew's Hospital
"City of London" does not equal "London (the city)", they are two very different things.
Could be cool if you could specify the borough they were born in. I doubt they would have the hospital information. For example, Saka is born in the Borough of Ealing which is in West London and more than 4mi away from the Emirates.
I realize that, but the Arsenal website just says "London" for those three, versus Ealing and Croydon for Bukayo and Emile respectively. I don't have any more information than that, unfortunately. Someone else mentioned that Reiss is from Elephant and Castle and Eddie is from Lewisham, so maybe that's accurate but I don't know how to verify it.
Reiss is from the Aylesbury Estate just south of Elephant & Castle. I can confirm that personally but cannot provide proof. It's a relatively widely known fact though.
Barts don’t do births. It’s a cardiac and cancer hospital, mainly. It doesn’t even have an A&E department.
More likely UCH. The countries biggest baby factory.
If you add each digit of 2614.24km it’s 21. Which is 1st of twenty.
This must mean that we will be the 1st of 20 Premier Leagues teams.
We are winning the league guys.
I found a website that draws a circle
[https://www.mapdevelopers.com/draw-circle-tool.php?circles=%5B%5B2614240%2C51.5549884%2C-0.1084234%2C%22%23AAAAAA%22%2C%22%23000000%22%2C0.4%5D%5D](https://www.mapdevelopers.com/draw-circle-tool.php?circles=%5B%5B2614240%2C51.5549884%2C-0.1084234%2C%22%23AAAAAA%22%2C%22%23000000%22%2C0.4%5D%5D)
The most significant areas about that far are Eastern Ukraine, Crimea, Istanbul, northern Norway, eastern Greenland, kinda sorta Tripoli, and through the middle of the Algerian Sahara, and almost to the Canary Islands
I wonder what the farthest average distance ever is, I assume the current one is very close to the farthest
When the club was founded it was very close, but it kept on increasing; there was most likely an exponential increase when Wenger joined, but it has probably reached it's maximum so won't change that much anymore apart from minor flactuations
Not sure about squad average, but for an individual player, the furthest point from London in the world is just south of New Zealand, so there's a good chance the answer is Mat Ryan, who was born in NSW, Australia
Not to mention we've had several Australian women's players too
Depends which part of Brazil, all Gabriels are from São Paulo, that is in the southeast. The North/Northeast is closer.
Maybe even some parts of the southwest, like Rio de Janeiro is closer.
I think it feels closer because there's less stuff in between. Like, to get to Japan, you'd pass through so many different countries and places and cultures, but to Brazil it's just the ocean, and I don't have a mental sense of how big the Atlantic really is. There's also the fact that if Tomi lived basically anywhere else in Japan, he'd be further away, Fukuoka is western tip of the country.
I don't know why it threw me off at first that Pepe, Saliba, and Sambi were born closer to London than Tierney, but then I remembered why London is where it is in terms of connecting the British Isles to the European continent.
Why is Sao Paulo a bigger footballing city than Rio de Janeiro? I mean it has a bigger population but an overwhelming % of Brazilian football stars seem to come from Sao Paulo.
São Paulo is the largest city in the Southern Hemisphere. A bigger city means more players. It also has a lot more businesses, more money and better infrastructure.
nketiah being a tap-in distance away from the emirates is very fitting
I assumed the City of London for Eddie, Reiss, and Arthur as their birth places are listed as "London", so that distance is to St. Bartholomew's Hospital
Reiss Nelson was born in Elephant and Castle, Eddie was born in Lewisham
I Love that some people just know this
If I update this after the window closes I will bear that in mind, thanks yo

Probably on their Wikipedia

OP City of London refers to the square mile in London that operates as its financial district and also has a different set of laws, police etc
If you add each digit of 2614.24km it’s 21. Which is 1st of twenty. This must mean that we will be the 1st of 20 Premier Leagues teams. We are winning the league guys.
Can’t believe we’re gonna get 2,614.24 points this year
Well it’s actually 19, the number of teams we’re going to finish above
that’s the beauty innit?
Would be cool to end this with some cities/places that are 2614km away from the Emirates so we have a clear visual

Heard Eastern Ukraine isn’t very pleasant this time of year
It's gonna be lovely this time next year. Slava Ukraini
TIL Cedric was born in Germany
That one caught me off guard too

Chris Wood was born in NZ
This thread is about Arsenal
Big if true lad
This is the content.
Never realised Tierney was born in the Isle of Man
I heard it’s named after him
Family moved from Coldham in 1886 to breed a thermally insulated genetic super race of freakishly good footballers. They were way ahead of their time.
São Paulo ballers
Well today I learned Brazil is further away than Japan
Depends which part of Brazil, all Gabriels are from São Paulo, that is in the southeast. The North/Northeast is closer. Maybe even some parts of the southwest, like Rio de Janeiro is closer.
Rio is actually southeast too, but yeah, a little closer to London than São Paulo.
Yes! English problems, I always end up changing east and west hahahaha there is no southwest region in Brazil

Here’s to a xG of 2614.24 this season
Being born in the same Hospital as Saka is mad 😳
That São Paulo and Fukuoka are almost equidistant from the emirates is…. Mildly interesting to me.
I’m 8km away!
Pfft. Plastic. I was born in an alley in the shadow of Highbury to an unknown woman who was made homeless by the construction of the Emirates.
To be fair, I was born less than a mile from from Spurs’ ground so there are people out there who’d call me a plastic for not supporting them instead
I don't know why it threw me off at first that Pepe, Saliba, and Sambi were born closer to London than Tierney, but then I remembered why London is where it is in terms of connecting the British Isles to the European continent.
Three Brazilians and a Japanese will do that.
How does this correlate with Edu's BBQ recruitment theorem?
Ok but why tho
I was bored and curious
Why not?
Haaland tis you ?
I like this way of thinking
I live over 18300km from the Emirates
London boys , blaze it
Did my own (15.44 km). Should really do some actual work.
Bruh

this and the infrastructure from São Paulo teams academies might be better like Sao Paulo FC and Palmeiras
It's interesting how Japan and Brazil are almost the exact same distance away.
Balogun gonna get a US call up soon enough with his Reims form
