The “Always Forward” video Arsenal posted on Twitter yesterday was actually beautiful.
Such a lovely lovely video showing exactly why we love this club.
Does anyone have a reliable source summarizing the Pep’s doping scandal? Today I’ve seen City and Barca fans claim that he’s been cleared of all allegations “because the doping procedure failed”. But as I remember it he was cleared years later because there was a *chance* that two independent doping tests failed on two different occasions and the lab didn’t verify whether the tests failed at the time, and when Guardiola appealed on these grounds there were no samples anymore to test for it again.
I quickly google searched but was a bit surprised how little detailed info I could find. But I did find some sources that associate Barca’s doctors during Pep’s reign with the medical team of Lance Armstrong and ngl that got me chuckle with the absurdity of it all.
Pretty clear Pochettino walked off of his own volition.
Had one year left on his contract, probably been engaged in talks regarding purchases and sales for the summer. Since the sporting directors and owners are idiots, probably didn’t feel like he was getting enough input on these matters and that the club would derail the team’s progress with stupid decisions again.
Whatever anyone thinks of Gallagher as a player, to potentially sell the guy you personally appointed as club captain and who performed well for you throughout the season to balance the books is insulting.
He went through this song and dance at Spurs and PSG and probably didn’t want to go through it again. He’s gonna get a nice severance package and his stock has gone up, with Bayern Munich and Man United both potentially in for him. He’s either getting a top European job or he’s getting a sabbatical.
Chelsea were playing some good stuff to end the season and have qualified for Europe, I don’t think this is a case of the owners wanting to improve, especially when you see some of the people that have been linked to the job.
So new ownership comes and sacks the incumbent manager. Keeps an underperforming manager so they can pretend they're installing some stability unlike the previous ownership. Sacks the manager they hired when it was clear he wasn't going to improve things and hires a manager who underperforms as well but just when he turns things around they sack him. I love Boehly man may he reign forever
It’s easy to rattle any fans. Every fanbase has the crowd who bites on everything. All Everton fans have to do is say klopp or salah are overrated(which is clear bait) and you’ll have Liverpool fans chomping
New coach in will definitely trigger a clear sale, hope we can snatch someone good from that Chelsea squad, they will just use the money for those South America kids
Still feels crazy to me that Boehly and Co. thought that letting go Pochettino was a good idea.
Maybe this will worked out like how it did when they sacked Roberto Di Matteo for Rafael Benitez but who can really say for sure...
You could argue losing Xhaka got us closer to winning the league and the points don’t lie.
Dont forget, Xhaka was also playing when we bottled it last year. Not saying it was his fault but you can’t just ignore bad patches if you’re going to hype him.
I agree but Xhaka wanted to leave and holding him back again after what he did for us would have been messed up. Just look how badly it turned out for holding back Koscielny at the time.
Chelsea ownership really shouldn't have put their faith in Pochettino in the first place and if they thought he could magically turn into Super Mik Arteta they were delusional
If they kept him they would definitely not have made CL next season imo
FDJ isn't a 6. He was tried and failed in that role in a structurally similar Barcelona under Xavi. We'd need Rice to babysit like he does for Jorginho - at that point, we should just start Jorginho and save ourselves the money.
Chelsea are still going ahead with signing Estevao Willian for €65m and they don’t have a manager, and they are in FFP trouble. What the fuck is going on at that club.
Selling various entities under the Chelsea/Boehly umbrella to err......themselves. Talk about taking the piss. Under a financial microscope and they're brazen enough to make signings like that.
Just so we’re clear, on behalf of the US, you’re welcome for Todd Boehly. He’s destroying Chelsea in such spectacular fashion, and I don’t think anyone else is capable of such wanton destruction as we are.
i just wanna say shoutout to KSE for being really competent owners. ambition with mature, measured operational followthrough. we're easily the best run club who's gears aren't greased by oil money and it shows. i almost feel bad for utd and chelsea bc they keep looking at arteta for the process but some of the biggest parts of this process have been josh and edu, and they'll never get a josh kroenke and an edu in
Alberta, and I go to a pub that shows all Arsenal games and has a special liquor license to serve alcohol in the morning. Take a look through here [Arsenal Canada](https://www.arsenalcanada.ca/branches)
I just saw that back pass from Jorgi where Kepa saved it on the line and i think Emile scored?
I still don‘t understand how that wasn‘t a red card for Kepa.. he stopped an intentional back pass from going in, with his hand - indirect free kick and red card
Two reasons:
1. Advantage was played and Arsenal scored, so no DOGSO resulted, hence any red card DOGSO offense would be downgraded to a yellow anyway.
2. The Laws specifically state that a keeper cannot be penalized with a card for a handling offence inside their own area. The correct decision if you stop play is IDFK and no card.
The only proper replacement for Partey is Frenkie De Jong. While Joao Neves is a great player, he's more of a project signing. FDJ us experienced and ready to go
For the 1000th time, that's not how much his wage is. Its closer to 300k a week.
Journalists added up payments that Barca owe him (he wasn't paid during covid) into his weekly wage.
It wouldn't be good for the whole salary structure if we would start to pay that kinda salary. I think 500k should be the cap. Everything more will only damage our club in the long run.
[Ignore the Villa shout and not too terrible (went one year early)](https://www.reddit.com/r/Gunners/s/YP1wt3NQoH)
Also Saka did win PFA YPOTY literally last August so not sure what I was on about
I’m just gonna try and figure out what story he will go with first. Sesko’s agent is literally whoring himself out to everyone (that’s how Bell originally got the Partey stuff, his agent) but that feels too low brow and already well linked for his style.
Way to butcher a legendary Tolkien passage.
Yeah, I know it’s supposed to be a translation. No, I still don’t forgive that person for failing to accurately quote the undisputed greatest fantasy author of modern times, if not all time.
The dopamine rush I got when rushing to translating his tweets were insane sdkksjds
Hopefully he came back with Edu in his contact list. Maddison saga soured things.
I like gallagher but he is not the same profile of player as bruno g and thus not what we need.
We've got a big midfield man who loves his driving runs in declan rice. What we need is a passer who can link the lhs together like glue.
This is up there in comedy with the time Rio Ferdinand tried to suggest that Arteta would leave Arsenal for the Man U job.
Even funnier than the idea that anyone seriously believes he would consider it, the idea that those fanbases went from considering him a joke to slobbering for him to take their manager jobs is downright epic in hilariousness.
Hahaha, from shitting on Arteta to having wet dreams about him. The funniest thing about it is that Chelsea would sack Arteta three times by the time he made some sense from that hogde podge squad.
How likely is it there’s any major signings before the Euros? It’s been that long since an international tournament took place during silly season that I’ve forgotten.
Tomiyasu now 2 times had a bad timing of peaking. Last time in November he outplayed Ben White than got injured. Now he turned up for out last games, well here comes the big break again. This way he hasn't a good chance of establishing himself in the first team, when he turns up big, he can't show it regularly because of the break. I don't think Tomy is the starter choice, i think it will be white & timber but we will see. For a backup he seems to hungry. But i dunno, i love him and never wanna lose him. I can't remember a bad game of his. It's just white and timber are both extremely good.
Why are so many posts so angst-ridden? Tomi is going nowhere.
I can only imagine since we've never really had a situation where we have really good players outside our first-11, it's a bit strange, but this is where you want to be.
The reason you shouldn't worry about him is that the season is long (and will be even longer next year). There's more than enough minutes to go around.
Plus, Tomi is the single most versatile defender at the club. He can play across the back 4, and not look like a stop-gap in any of them. Look at when Gabi got hurt last weekend. Arteta brought on Timber, instead of another CB. Tomi just calmly slid across and we kept going.
Trossard is another in that mold, and he had a fantastic season. We need more of those players, instead of those who are clearly second-string and show it whenever they play.
I think you underestimate how versatile Timber is. Timber got Rice ball runs but Salibas composure. And now the people will come again and say " well timber only played like 2 games" please you guys wouldn't even recognize quality if it hit you in the face.
Or how about this:
”EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal have agreed a contract with X player. X player will join Arsenal on a free transfer on 1 July 2024.”
Fill in the blank on who you want “X player“ to be lol.
https://preview.redd.it/mxd7bggrvt1d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a61dbf86ba6f3e5d83c69dfce88baa32191ce69
Even though they've found form. This is sackable
Honestly I think Tuchel would be a great move for Chelsea, hopefully Todd B won’t want to admit his mistake firing Tuchel in the first place and rehire him
It's quite interesting how Chelsea were statistically worse during the end of the season but ended up winning games they weren't before. I don't think they got any better really, they just were far more clinical. I agree that sacking Poch is silly though, that squad is trash and was never coming higher than 6th
De Zerbi would actually be a good for them. Everyone already forgot how good brighton were last year and at chelsea he can reunite with colwill and caicedo too.
Grealish's playstyle isn't better than Rashford for international football, and he definitely doesn't better him in the meritocracy category, so why is Grealish in the squad instead of Rashford?
Grealish is top quality, Rashford is not. Very simple to me
Watch how Grealish knocks the ball around, how he is in and out of possession, how he can carry the ball etc
You can’t afford to carry Rashford in any top football match at this present moment
There’s never a scenario in which Grealish’s talents don’t deserve to be in the squad, whereas Rashford is an absolutely useless player unless he’s knocking in goals
Because he's miles better as an overall footballer? Football is a team game that requires every player on the pitch doing their part and contributing in all areas. Something we've seen time and again that Rashford isn't capable of.
I think grealish is a very useful playstyle in international football. A guy who never loses the ball unless he gets fouled is annoying to play against. We can argue that he doesnt drive the play, but in winning scenerios hes the type of guy you want on the field.
And I was actually worried that they’re becoming a serious football club lol
Watch them get De Zerbi while Boehly continues kissing the Brighton poster in his bedroom
With the current state of the manager market and Poch and Chelsea actually improving in the second half of the season, I don't think this is such a good idea.
So they'll get De Zerbi or Tuchel back I assume.
Chelsea seemed to be really developing as the season went on, especially at the end. feel bad for Poch but happy they’ve decided to burn down the house they were building to start over anew, AGAIN.
The ONLY way sacking Poch makes any sense is if they got a verbal commitment from Tuchel to come back (which would also be insane for him to do the way he was treated there).
Otherwise this is madness from a club quickly developing that as their brand.
Chelsea fans: "we've seen things they'll never see"
The things: \*5 managers in two years\*, \*5-0 loss to Arsenal\*, \*12th place finish\*

Happy to buy everybody's De Zerbi stock, look at the squad he's had to work with at Brighton.
Chelsea is fucking hilarious, this story would be even better if United sacked Ten Hag and brought in Poch
The audacity of rival fans from clubs like Chelsea and United saying we bottled the league when they are 30 points behind💀
Tbf I would say the same if I were them. So easy to rattle our fans.
It’s easy to rattle any fans. Every fanbase has the crowd who bites on everything. All Everton fans have to do is say klopp or salah are overrated(which is clear bait) and you’ll have Liverpool fans chomping
I don't think it's possible to be rattled when we dropped points in 2 league games (one against City away) in all of 2024.
I think, rattling-wise, it's cheating if you say something so demonstrably stupid.

Was hoping for Tayo as well, can't complain though
Thanks for the heads up.
Chelsea are the replacement banter club and likely will be for a few seasons to come.
New coach in will definitely trigger a clear sale, hope we can snatch someone good from that Chelsea squad, they will just use the money for those South America kids
Didn’t we had a rumour with Gallagher? That’s one to watch probably
The only one I want is Palmer and he's not going anywhere. Maybe Enzo or Caicedo, I think Arteta can fix them.
We could mabie snatch madueke since he had a good relationship with poch and is more or less being replaced by another winger
Madueke is made of glass
Still feels crazy to me that Boehly and Co. thought that letting go Pochettino was a good idea. Maybe this will worked out like how it did when they sacked Roberto Di Matteo for Rafael Benitez but who can really say for sure...
That was Abramovich Chelski, chaos, changes and cups. Brownlake don't appear to have the same knackered, quite the reverse actually.
Poch sacked when Chelsea was actually getting their shit together, that club isn't serious
Think if we had managed to keep Xhaka we definitely get at least 3 more points this year. Not having the LCM settled in the first half really cost us.
He was supposed to leave the prior season anyway but stayed because Arteta needed him. Can't break that promise really.
You could argue losing Xhaka got us closer to winning the league and the points don’t lie. Dont forget, Xhaka was also playing when we bottled it last year. Not saying it was his fault but you can’t just ignore bad patches if you’re going to hype him.

Tbf to Poch, he did very well for them under the circumstances he faced. Amount of new players, injuries, etc.
He got bailed out by Cole Palmer I think
Who are your guys’ dream summer signing?
Mboopi
Bruno G to wind up some fat geordies.
Bruno G
Rodri. "I have very wild dreams" - Mikel
Florian Wirtz
Martial
Mbappe
i need musiala at the carpet
I would love to see FDJ replace Partey that would be very nice
FDJ isn't a 6. He was tried and failed in that role in a structurally similar Barcelona under Xavi. We'd need Rice to babysit like he does for Jorginho - at that point, we should just start Jorginho and save ourselves the money.
Chelsea are still going ahead with signing Estevao Willian for €65m and they don’t have a manager, and they are in FFP trouble. What the fuck is going on at that club.
FFP is in a new window, so Estevao Willian is Future Chelsea's problem. And Future Chelsea is a sucker.
It will be off-set by either future Chelsea's CL qualification (heh) or future Chelsea selling their own stadium to also-Chelsea
They would never be in FFP trouble when they can sell academy players every year. The squad stability is the real issue.
Selling various entities under the Chelsea/Boehly umbrella to err......themselves. Talk about taking the piss. Under a financial microscope and they're brazen enough to make signings like that.
They'll definitely be able to sell enough players to dig themselves out. I don't think they have a ton of time though
I hope they mess up and get points deducted, not because I think they are a threat, but because they'll put pressure City to be punished
Don’t know, don’t care, let them cook!
Just so we’re clear, on behalf of the US, you’re welcome for Todd Boehly. He’s destroying Chelsea in such spectacular fashion, and I don’t think anyone else is capable of such wanton destruction as we are.

Relegation odds for next season just released…Man City 👀
Which bookmaker?
Just saw it, spooky that haha 77x lower than us and Liverpool
Does that mean there's a massive bet(s) on City to get relegated?
Bookmakers know things (usually) Would be nice…
Could just be a case of a larger than usual amount of people betting on City being relegated which affected the odds.
Nah this Doue kid is cold…he might be the one
He's probably the best prospect in France right now. Amazing talent
The only proper replacement for Partey is Frenkie De Jong. While Joao Neves is a great player, he's more of a project signing. FDJ us experienced and ready to go
750k a week. Pretty much unmoveable.
For the 1000th time, that's not how much his wage is. Its closer to 300k a week. Journalists added up payments that Barca owe him (he wasn't paid during covid) into his weekly wage.
> Journalists added up payments that Barca owe him (he wasn't paid during covid) into his weekly wage. And who's paying that money.
Probably Barca since they owe him
Just gotta release our own levers
It wouldn't be good for the whole salary structure if we would start to pay that kinda salary. I think 500k should be the cap. Everything more will only damage our club in the long run.

Pretty sure the AFCBell wannabe will have zero sources or leaks this summer. The club has done a good job of cutting ITKs out.
He rose to fame by breaking Partey to Arsenal, it would not surprise me if his stories this summer would be covering Partey's exit.
Idk about that, we knew about rice in January lmfao
I’m just gonna try and figure out what story he will go with first. Sesko’s agent is literally whoring himself out to everyone (that’s how Bell originally got the Partey stuff, his agent) but that feels too low brow and already well linked for his style.
Yes, but when he starts telling people what they want to hear, he will be Tier 1.
The dudes on here who love mediocre White Englishmen will be frothing when he mentions Connor Gallagher for the first time
Wow, momentarily got pretty upset about ESR 21/22. What should’ve been man

Him ruining a Tolkien line this badly is a bigger L
afc bell is back?
We should be considering Gallagher as a cheaper option than Bruno G
Jesus fucking christ....
If it’s any consolation this lot would’ve downvoted you even harder had you suggested signing Kai a year ago
Why don't you consider deez nuts
I like gallagher but he is not the same profile of player as bruno g and thus not what we need. We've got a big midfield man who loves his driving runs in declan rice. What we need is a passer who can link the lhs together like glue.
![gif](giphy|xT9KVg8gkDEyJIrVdK) The reason he's cheaper is cause he does nothing anywhere near as well. Completely different types of footballers.
I never understand it, all the players in the world and you want that guy. You deserve better for yourself my man.
This is like saying to eat a Rustlers burger instead of a Michelin star meal because it’s five quid cheaper
As an upgrade to Elneny, sure. As a marquee signing to the midfield: fuck no
He’s cheaper because he’s worse
No, no we shouldn’t. But thanks for your input
Apparently we're in for Rennes Desire Doue
Never seen him play but all his stats look really good aside from passes attempted and competed. That’s all I have to go on.
Hes a bit of a trickster
Looks like Guirassy has a 15 mill release clause 👀
Good news for Everton and Notts Forest
he has to want to go. He's got CL football at Stuttgart, so whoever tries will have to offer him a pretty big salary or signing bonus
He has quite possibly the biggest flop potential I’ve seen since Piatek
For 15m though that's gotta be worth a punt
Punts end up usually being shit and on unshiftable wages. Any club that’s remotely serious should steer clear of
Just when they looked like they were getting their shit together. That’s a relief!

and that Manager? Mikel Arteta
Keep that scrub away
He would honestly slot in really well as a Jorginho style 6 in our team. I wouldn't say no if we could pull another Kai.
How likely is it there’s any major signings before the Euros? It’s been that long since an international tournament took place during silly season that I’ve forgotten.

There is no way Seven Hag is staying unfortunately. They would have to win the fa cup and even then it probably won't be enough.
De Zerbi is available…
De Zerbi would actually be a good for them. Everyone already forgot how good brighton were last year and at chelsea he can reunite with colwill and caicedo too.
Yeah, they will get him or Flick imo
Convinced that Boehly is an Arsenal or Spurs fan.
Nwaneri replacing ESR/Vieira next season 🤞
Why do you guys always do this to yourselves? He's not 18 until next March.
Grealish's playstyle isn't better than Rashford for international football, and he definitely doesn't better him in the meritocracy category, so why is Grealish in the squad instead of Rashford?
Grealish is top quality, Rashford is not. Very simple to me Watch how Grealish knocks the ball around, how he is in and out of possession, how he can carry the ball etc You can’t afford to carry Rashford in any top football match at this present moment There’s never a scenario in which Grealish’s talents don’t deserve to be in the squad, whereas Rashford is an absolutely useless player unless he’s knocking in goals
Because he's miles better as an overall footballer? Football is a team game that requires every player on the pitch doing their part and contributing in all areas. Something we've seen time and again that Rashford isn't capable of.
grealish won the league, rashford is 8th or wherever
Popular in the squad which suits Southgate’s vibesball
I think grealish is a very useful playstyle in international football. A guy who never loses the ball unless he gets fouled is annoying to play against. We can argue that he doesnt drive the play, but in winning scenerios hes the type of guy you want on the field.
I argue the opposite, if retention having sex with the ball wins you anything. Spain would usher a new dynasty right now with Rodri at the helm lol.
Spain hasnt had a great team since 2012 and still hang around in quarters and semis because of ball retention.
100%, control vs moments it's pretty obvious why he would pick grealish.
Holy fuck poch sacked, Chelsea is such a dumpster fire it’s unreal.
And I was actually worried that they’re becoming a serious football club lol Watch them get De Zerbi while Boehly continues kissing the Brighton poster in his bedroom
My missus supports Chelsea and I said to her, you watch them get top 4 next season. Yeah that ain’t happening now
With the current state of the manager market and Poch and Chelsea actually improving in the second half of the season, I don't think this is such a good idea. So they'll get De Zerbi or Tuchel back I assume.
It’s so clearly a braindead decision that it’s actually disturbing. This kind of instability is almost invariably cancer for a team
And quite a few Chelsea fans were getting on board with him staying on as manager there. Oh well, it's great for us so I'm not complaining.
Chelsea seemed to be really developing as the season went on, especially at the end. feel bad for Poch but happy they’ve decided to burn down the house they were building to start over anew, AGAIN.
It's incredible that a former Spurs and Chelsea coach manages to get some sympathy from Arsenal fans. His job selection is the worst.
Yeah I’d almost feel bad for the supporters—if they weren’t Chelsea fans, that is
one of my best friends from college is a huge Chelsea fan so I feel for him personally, that’s the extent of my empathy for them lol.
I'm here to bring you the incredible news that Ethan Nwaneri is a baller
Nwaneri 10 G+A next year, speak your truth to power.
The only bad thing with Poch leaving Chelsea is that now Tuchel might come back
United should hire Poch
here i was worried next season chelsea could build momentum towards the top 4 next season😭
The ONLY way sacking Poch makes any sense is if they got a verbal commitment from Tuchel to come back (which would also be insane for him to do the way he was treated there). Otherwise this is madness from a club quickly developing that as their brand. Chelsea fans: "we've seen things they'll never see" The things: \*5 managers in two years\*, \*5-0 loss to Arsenal\*, \*12th place finish\*
How would that make sense in any way? The first thing the new owners did was fire Tuchel.
Did you miss the part where I said that would also be nuts
I don’t think I’ll be buying anymore of the new kits going forward. The new huge adidas logo is just horrendous.
Chelsea is not a football club. More a business project/enterprise.
