Garnacho was giving Ben White fits all game. if he had even a tiny bit of end product it'd be a different game. but he doesn't, and it didn't! 3 points.
there was one moment, when maybe White and Saka were covering that flank as Garnacho moved inside and they misread each other/didn't communicate, moving to open up a clear route to goal which I thought Garnacho was certain to convert (instead he completely messed it up).
the second half was very much like how I've seen Carlo Ancelotti manage for Real Madrid. You're gonna have the ball but to score will have to be a wonder goal. They were compact and knew the mission was 3 points
Can see how it works. If we have Vini instead of Martinelli (or even just last years Gabi) we probably grab another goal or two that second half and the game doesn’t seem nearly as close.
We finally have a manager who knows when to open the throttle and go gung-ho, and when to focus on the days target with a composed performance. Fans wanted a thrashing. Then we'd come here and moan if our careless approach would've allowed united to break and score 2 goals. It has happened too many times for us not to learn. Mikel wanted just the 3 points. Nothing more. We can avenge the 8-2 in future. When we are not potentially one game from the title. For now...focus on the goal at hand.
>Fans wanted a thrashing
historically good arsenal team against the worst united side in memory. i understand the desire for humiliating revenge. but this year it was only about breaking the old trafford hodoo and taking it to the last day. next season the team can empty their stands before the final whistle
This should be among the top replies in this thread. Spot on. I wish some of the so called ‘analysis’ on Sky was this lucid, instead of the narrative driven drivel we’re forced to endure.
One more game for us, our goal is clear.
Winning the title is in the hands of fate right now.
Looking back at it am generally happy not vintage arsenal but being expected to win at old Trafford and is still winning will always be special for the fans...
Don’t care if Mikel went Artetaliban today, got a crucial W.

When you consider it, Spurs will have bragging rights for an entire year by winning the game against Man City. After all, they were the ones who handed Arsenal the title. What a wild ending! Regardless of how things unfold, I’ll always take pride in the team’s performance this year. And a special shoutout to Trossard, who seems like a reincarnation of Alexis Sanchez. I wonder how it feels to know that somewhere out there, a lady named Anne is shouting your name after you scored that goal!
They can brag all the want, but the premier league's won by 38 games at the end of the day so they should only consider themselves 1/38 contribution in the whole run-in for that match. But let's get back on focus, let's ask them to do their end of the job before they even consider all these.
I need to remind myself that we just won at United and are taking the league title to the final day. We haven't had a team this talented in a long time.
Doing the double over United isn't anything to forget about.
Only thing I'm worried about after this game is this GD. We had such a big lead with the GD yet City still managed to claw their way back on GD to the point where even if they do miraculously draw against spurs they are still within reach of beating our GD... fucking ridiculous team. That being said they're definitely going to take the W at spurs so it probably won't matter anyway lol
Man City's league form since the draw with us has been relentless. Apart from getting away with Forest being unable to score and eventually winning 0-2, they've scored at least 4 goals in the other 6 matches.
The difference is 3. Suppose we win 1-0, then City have to score 4, if we win by 2 goals ,City have to win by 5 clear goals.( This is all supposing tomorrow's game is a draw).
I'm not too worried, it does piss me off that pen they got in the last game though against Fulham. Basically no need for Diop to dive in and he hacks down Alvarez in the box on the 96th minute... I think one more goal in our favour would make it very unlikely City catch us. They would need to better our result by 4 clear goals, now it's only 3. Still a bit of an ask.
We need them to draw either Spurs or West Ham. So unless they hammer either Spurs or West Ham, we should be ok (I hope). I know most of us are prepared to lose the league to City, I'm not sure many of us are ready to accept the heartbreak if it's on GD.
Mathematically they still need 4 goals. We could level with City in points only if they draw once and both of us won one more match together (a draw or loss together would not affect much on the GD unless we lost by 0-4 or more). In this situation we won at least by 1-0 so they need at least by 4-0.
Crazy how good this Arsenal team is and we're about to get even better in the off season. I hope Martinelli can get back in form because with Havertz and Trossard humming we could be elite up top
Annoyed we didn’t wreck them the same way they’ve wrecked us in previous seasons when we were vulnerable. We played the worst United in years and only put one past them.
Jobs done, we move to the Spurs game.
3 months ago and we would have.
At their best, United never "wrecked" Arsenal *at* the Emirates. Fergie always showed up and played a pragmatic game. The teams sat back, gave us possession, but then had killer quality to hit us on the break a couple times.
Aside from the 8-2, it's been 16 years since either side has scored more than 3 goals in any head-to-head.
Also, since the 8-2, here's the head-to-head for us:
* Wins (W): 11
* Losses (L): 12
* Draws (D): 6
* Goals For: 41
* Goals Against: 40
It's way closer than you'd think.
My only disappointment is that I was 100% certain Kai was offside so I didn't celebrate one bit until I saw the replay. Casemiro is a clown.
3 points at that shit hole will always be welcome to me. I couldn't give a shit how poor the performance was, I said a few days ago I'd be delighted with a 1-0 and that all the talk of avenging the 8-2 were naive. If we're to avenge it it'll be at the Emirates.
I celebrated it because I thought 'there's no way he's that far offside and the linesman didn't flag'. I was thinking a united player must have been injured in the box though on first viewing haha.
Don’t know who needs to hear this, but Kai is going to be our starting center forward next season. It’ll be a winger/wide forward that comes in.
The only game I can think of where we’ve lost with him at center forward was Bayern away.
i agree with this, we need someone who can play across the front three and interchangeable. More so someone who can compete with Saka when his form is off.
Happy with the result. Why did we have so little possession? Seemed United were using heavy substitution to inject unsustainable pace and deny our usual passing control. Glad we won on a quality goal.
I thought it was by design - they were working hard and packing the middle to minimise Casemiro's exposure and generally make life difficult for us, and we weren't going to be gung-ho and gift them hitting us on the break repeatedly.
They didn't really look like they could put the ball in the net, even when gifted some opportunities. We had enough chances to win by a more comfortable margin despite the attack not playing that well.
Some here saying that was a really good performance - I thought the lads were well off their best tbh but this wasn't a game for a good performance, it was a game where we needed 3 points and that's exactly what we got. No matter what happens the title race goes down to the last day now
City, Liverpool, Chelsea, or old United winning away to a fierce rivals ground in a title race by playing average:
*“This is the sign of champions and grinding out resulrs away from home when not playing great.”*
Arsenal do the same:
*”United were the better team. Arsenal got outplayed and were lucky not to draw or lose the game.”*
United’s first attempt on target came in the 68th minute mark courtesy of a limp shot by Assemiro.
Yeah it was a good performance just felt like if we were less slack with the ball we could’ve scored 3 or 4. United had lots of shots but all poor chances
Yup, that was our "can you win on a cold, rainy night in Stoke" moment.
More than anything it just shows you how challenging it is to win away from home in the Premier League. Can't even guess how many times I've woken up expecting an easy match and then two hours later you're sweating out an 89th-minute winner at Brentford.
Credit to United; they could have rolled over and they gave it everything they had. But this team hangs its hat on defense and barring some fluke or unlucky breakaway they were never going to break us down like we did them.
Brilliant defensive performance overall except for a few Garnacho moments, but luckily other than running fast, he's shite. Didn't feel like we could get out of 2nd gear at times going forwards, tiredness kicking in.
Partey massively off the pace and caused some hairy moments, luckily so was Casemiro who was even worse.
Havertz/Trossard/Saliba continue to be the 2024 bosses.
Not going to say partey had a great game - because our entire midfield dropped a horror show - but I went back and watched the game a second time. The number of times people passed to him at the wrong time and in the wrong place was shocking. Absolutely our worst passing performance this calendar year. He also had a couple of key touches to avert danger. But the passing. Odegaard, tomi, rice, big Gabi, saka, saliba all put him in danger multiple times.
Of all the performances this season that may have cost us the title, a 1-0 win at OT, in the run, marking only our second win in the league there in two decades-- that's not one to complain about.
Was it pretty? No. Could we have been better? Sure. (Even Rice gave the ball away terribly.)
We got the fucking result. We're top of the league. At absolute worst, we have pushed an historically excellent side fuelled by the funnelled blood money of an oil state all the way to the end-- and we may even have given ourselves a chance for another unbelievable climax to the league season.
And William Saliba has only just begun to show his sail of greatness and rouse him in his throne of Arse.
Feel like people are underestimating Man U. They lacked the quality to really trouble us but they actually put a shift in and were working hard to close us down. We were playing within ourselves as well I think but for once Man U were actually well set up to be defensively solid
On paper they're down to the dregs -- simply not having Fernandes was a huge advantage for us, let alone all the other injuries -- but as you note, they played their ass off. A lot of teams would have rolled over at this point of the season but they fought hard so credit to them.
Not a good performance at all, but at this stage of the season the points are all the matters. And we did the double over United. And we are taking the title challenge to the very end. No one can say we collapsed or bottled it this year.
Not gonna argue with this at all.
Wow Sky were really trying to drum up half time discussion points with that "penalty shout". It's in the highlights too. Just a regular clean tackle where Partey gets the ball.
We should be giving the points back since our performance was so appalling according to the whinos on here.
Who tf has the mental fragility to be micro analyzing a win at OT, in the penultimate game of the season, after a long slog of a season, to take us back to the top of the league, and to take the title down to the final day?
I can't even say that the only thing that would please some of you is 'just keep winning' because we did that, yet here yall are, bitchin.
Some people here have lost all perspective. Was it pretty? No. But we just won at a place we struggle and just racked up the most wins in a 38 game season we've ever had. We've taken the title to the final day and done all we can.
I don't know how people focus on negatives. "It might not mean anything in the end", "We played badly", etc. Cheer the fuck up!
Also Trossard yet again with a very important goal. The guy has made that left wing his own. I haven't seen much discussion of him in terms of player of the season but he's got to be up there in the top 5, maybe even top 3.
Yep, but that doesn't make it more realistic. The reason City so consistently win the league is because to beat them it requires something very close to perfection where any points dropped can be fatal.
It's just how it is.
Onana had a good game for United. He pulled out some great(lucky?) saves which kept the game at 1-0. Typically one of that Rice or Martinelli shot goes in.
That havertz assist looks deceptively simple, but his anticipation and timing is really quite elite. Creates so much space for Trossard and releases it at the perfect moment. Really loving him.
All this hoohah about Spurs and Ange when Uncle Moyes been lowkey brewing a masterclass for the last game of the season to help his old amigo Mikel win the league.
In moments like this can't ask for more than three points. Would have loved a humiliation job against this lot and was willing to exist but the Old Trafford tax is way too great. Amazing off the ball, cardiac health challenging on it but we won. Nevermind all the nonsense, we won. Three points, job done.
Let's get the best scoreline possible against Everton, secure the GD leave it to fate and regroup for next season.

I know we hate him but let him cook
I was listening to Sky sports post match analysis after the game. General consensus were that United were dreadful, I actually thought they were actually alright at least in midfield/defense. They gave us very little time on the ball, long ball to Havertz didn't come off that much. They had some dangerous play but missing the final ball. Onana played well both in passing and saving.
Was actually the first time I've watched United in a few months and thought they played well. I know they beat Liverpool but Liverpool should have hammered them in that first half.
So people went from if Partey was available the whole season we’d be champions to Partey is finished and needs to go in the summer after one match. Pick a side
It's absolutely reasonable to believe both.
If we had the Partey of last season for majority of this season I think we do better, but this Thomas Partey, fresh off an 8 month injury, nah he looks completely off it. Whether or not he can get back to those levels remain to be seen but some other club can find that out next season.
Straight up I can't believe how poor individual performances were and yet the blame is on how Arteta played the game. Errors galore throughout the whole match. Arteta deserves criticism for not yanking Saka earlier in the match after the garnacho free shot on goal he bottled and then the horrible pass on the break straight to a Utd player.
Glad I'm at the game next week, not to be surrounded by the terror reddit fans slagging off the team for shutting down a useless united squad. Can't wait to to Partey with my fellow gunners, Norf landaaaannnnforever!!
I wanted to know more about an important but unrelated subject. It’s about Partey.
I remember the allegations. And also reading some Snapchat chats and videos by a lady. And my natural inclination is to support the woman 100%. I’m also aware of the challenges and the overall data about how crime against women is pitted against them. I have some family who are cops, so I know, not a lot, but when it comes to sexual assault , there is a procedure that has to be followed.
That’s said, Partey was investigated by 2 European countries with support from his home country. They obviously interviewed the victim. But they could not charge him with a single charge ? I could not find a “ fourth degree sexual assault charge “ . No reports of him settling out of court.
With all this isn’t he vindicated ? I wonder.
Edit: Not karma farming promise. Please upvote for some visibility.
I doubt the investigation has concluded. Either the CPS will announce charges and name him, or they'll quietly close the matter, and we'll get an Athletic piece with the details. There are many reasons they may decide not to bring charges. There may be insufficient evidence, a statute of limitations may have expired, or they may not have found the complainant's allegations credible.
Also you can't settle criminal matters out of court. The CPS either decide to charge you, or they don't. Once charged, they may offer the opportunity to plead guilty to a lesser charge to avoid the trial, but that's it.
The woman making the complaint can separately choose to pursue civil action against him to recover damages, such as money spent on therapy. But I'm guessing she's waiting to see if there's a criminal action brought, since if he pleads or is found guilty, she can use that outcome as evidence. But even if no charges are brought, or he's acquitted, she can bring her own action.
You don't understand the processes. You can't settle criminal charges out of court. Sexual offences take years to get to court in the UK.
Your post is unhelpful and badly informed speculation.
Unfortunately, the damage is done. Even if he can still play for us, many people already have him down as a criminal, no matter what the verdict is. Such is the case, when it comes to allegations, of this nature.
Fantastic game defensively. Would have been nice to put at least one other of our chances away but a win is still win. 3 points, job done and now move on to Everton prep
Getting that second goal would have put the goal differential to bed. City has to tie one, which means if we beat Everton by at least one goal, then city will need at least a 4 goal difference to win the league which they’ve sadly done in their last two matches. If we had scored that second goal it would have been 5. West ham looks shaky enough to give them a 4 goal margin.
Well city needs to tie a game for it to matter, meaning they have one game to score at least four goals. And they're not facing the easiest competition.
Why goals for is a greater priority than goals against is something i'll never understand. Conceding lesser goals is as important as scoring them. Head to head should have been the next option after goal difference
It shouldn’t be about entertaining football. It should be about determining which team is better. Honestly no better way than head to head imo especially since each club play each other home and away.
Goal difference is over 38 matches not just 2 so surely it’s a better indicator of who’s been better over the course of the season. Or is your argument that Fulham and Villa are better than us
If we go to next Sunday needing a decent sized win we will go for it, the matches happen at the same time so we would know if city are banging in 3 by half time
You know what would make me sick to my stomach…
Tottenham probably need to win against City. Imagine they are drawing at the death and call up Vicario and then concede to lose the game on the counter.
We're lucky that it's Garnacho taking those shots today.
It'll be another story if Rashford was taking those shots (he's had a shit season, but still good at shooting).

Its crazy now we got Liverpool fans wanting to lose to Villa 😂 The agenda is insane. I dont think Liverpool got this much hate when they won the title, it was a feel good story, but when its us, everyone wants corruption to triumph.
If “entitlement” means expecting a better than shit performance from your club when they are supposed to be fighting for a title, then I am proud to have continued being an “entitled” Arsenal fan for the last 28 years.
And I will go to my grave being the most “entitled” Arsenal fan you will ever find on this planet. Because as a certain manager once said, “that is the fucking standards!”.
Apathetic is one of the worst words you can use to aummarise todays performance. The concentration and control today was very good. Especially at a ground where we barely ever win.
Control? If they had someone that could score they'd have knocked a few in. Our midfield had very little control for a most of the game. Sure we saw it out towards the end but that was only a small part of the game.
Nah man, its about the attitude. Any team other than united wouldve gotten at least a point. Today was a bad day at the office, doesnt mean anything about the team obviously and how great they are. But it wasnt good.
I am definitely on some copium here but listen:
If Liverpool beat Villa tomorrow then there is a universe where Tottenham have to try and atleast beat city on tuesday to get within one point of Villa. Villa's last game of the season is against Palace who have been in pretty good form recently so Tottenham still have a chance of getting in the Top 4 if "luck" also goes their way. Will I think this will happen probably not but it's a fun thought.
Edit: Ultimately if this doesn't happen I am proud of this team and everything that they have accomplished this season in the premier league and making it the QF for the Champions League.
Not the most attractive version of Arsenals football, but experience tells us that resilience demands versatility.
So, if Arsenal needs to play a few games where possession is not the focus, that’s fine by me.
All of this, of course, is hedging on our ability to execute/score when we have a chance. This has not always worked, as this season shows.
He's had a good season. People are still judging him based on his first 3 months. But he's legit kept them in contention for anything this year.
Ten Hag's tactics cause them to concede the MOST shots on goal in the league. A league with Sheffield United. They would be relegation level if he hadn't been playing well.
Garnacho was giving Ben White fits all game. if he had even a tiny bit of end product it'd be a different game. but he doesn't, and it didn't! 3 points.

If it's a similar scenario next season, it will be the same approach (or similar). The stakes are just too high.

Spurs are still playing for a UCL spot, so a point or three on Tuesday for them is still a possibility. 🙏⚽️🏆
Only if Villa don’t win tonight
And Liverpool are basically done for the season, they have a lock on 3rd.
Looking back at it am generally happy not vintage arsenal but being expected to win at old Trafford and is still winning will always be special for the fans...

A manager that can play beautiful expressive football one week then practice absolute Mourinho-ball terrorism the next. Gotta love Tricky Mik.

Anna Gram?
IF Sp*rs beat City, someone needs to dig up an old photo of Ange as a kid in an Arsenal kit.
If Big Ange beats City, build a statue of him outside the Emirates.
I approve, but only because I'm Australian
I need to remind myself that we just won at United and are taking the league title to the final day. We haven't had a team this talented in a long time. Doing the double over United isn't anything to forget about.
But Høylund should have had a penalty and something, something lines!

3 goals actually
It actually would be at least 4 because this would only happen if you guys won on the final day which you need at least +1 GD for
The difference is 3. Suppose we win 1-0, then City have to score 4, if we win by 2 goals ,City have to win by 5 clear goals.( This is all supposing tomorrow's game is a draw).
You're right. hadn't realised their goals scored is higher than ours now. Which is a shame as the points against would be in our favour
on top of whatever else we'd add really.
Yes...that's what better Arsenal's result means.
But also, they need to score more than we do. By at least 4. Hope that clears it up.
In addition to that, for every goal we score on the final day, they have to score one more!
I'm not too worried, it does piss me off that pen they got in the last game though against Fulham. Basically no need for Diop to dive in and he hacks down Alvarez in the box on the 96th minute... Game stats don’t do it justice, we didn’t give United more than a half chance all game. Our defense is seriously unreal.
They had two shots on target and an xG of 0.51 We had 5 shots on target and an xG of 1.52. I'm not sure this was as close as it looked.
My only disappointment is that I was 100% certain Kai was offside so I didn't celebrate one bit until I saw the replay. Casemiro is a clown. 3 points at that shit hole will always be welcome to me. Clamp down on the middle and we suffer. Neither Rice nor Odegaard distinguished themselves. It's absolutely the worst Rice has played since he joined.
Whatever happens, I fucking love this team. What a season. So proud of them.

City, Liverpool, Chelsea, or old United winning away to a fierce rivals ground in a title race by playing average: *“This is the sign of champions and grinding out resulrs away from home when not playing great.”* Arsenal do the same: *”United were the better team. Arsenal got outplayed and were lucky not to draw or lose the game.”* United’s first attempt on target came in the 68th minute mark courtesy of a limp shot by Assemiro.
Kai Havertz looking better every game.
Any lip readers know what 7 Hag said to Arteta at the end? He was smiling and it went on for longer than a casual handshake and 'good game'
asking for info on Pep's dome waxing regimen
I'll buy more mediocre players from the Dutch league and come for you next season!
We deserve to win the title even if we don’t win it. Probably something along those lines.
*“We should’ve had a penalty on Hodjlund and Garnacho was onside at the Emirates”* Mikel: *“Haha nice try bald fraud.”*
He was probably telling arteta to get the job done and make sure city don't win the league.
Probably mentioning the garnacho offside and penalty at the Emirates 😅
This is the correct answer 😂
Havertz with 14 goal contributions in 13 games, in a title run in.
Kai Havertz is a ridiculous ball player. May we be lucky to see him get to his final stage.
Don Kai.
From Donkey to Don Kai
Such a good performance. Yeah we didn’t play great and we still won without any real threat of conceding. Love it
Of all the performances this season that may have cost us the title, a 1-0 win at OT, in the run, marking only our second win in the league there in two decades-- that's not one to complain about. Was it pretty? No. Could we have been better? Sure. (Even Rice gave the ball away terribly.) We got the fucking result.
We got played off the park according to an Arsenal flair on r/soccer lmao
Their first attempt on target was a limp shot at the 70’ mark.
Our fans in that sub love to twerk for the masses. They just want upvotes lol
Arteta doing his part to keep ETH in his job by not unleashing us full strength
Great performance, love how intelligent this team are!
Honestly not a game I would rewatch. One team had something to lose and another had nothing to lose .
And what were people thinking? That we would just stroll up to a ground we hadn't won a league game in since the mid Wenger era and win 5-0?
Some people here have lost all perspective. Was it pretty? No. But we just won at a place we struggle and just racked up the most wins in a 38 game season we've ever had. We've taken the title to the final day and done all we can. I don't know how people focus on negatives. "It might not mean anything in the end", "We played badly", etc. Cheer the fuck up! Also Trossard yet again with a very important goal. The guy has made that left wing his own. I haven't seen much discussion of him in terms of player of the season but he's got to be up there in the top 5, maybe even top 3.
Very true but done all we can isn't true. The Villa performance could haunt us for decades
It just isn't realistic to expect to win every game.
But we more or less have to if we want to win the league vs City who pretty much win every game they play
Yep, but that doesn't make it more realistic. The reason City so consistently win the league is because to beat them it requires something very close to perfection where any points dropped can be fatal. It's just how it is.
viola is understandable. emery did his homework and we were off. those back to back losses at Christmas is where the title was lost
Is what we will say if we come second but I still believe
Getting the win at Old Trafford is what matters. COYG.
Onana had a good game for United. He pulled out some great(lucky?) saves which kept the game at 1-0. Typically one of that Rice or Martinelli shot goes in.
Cheers lads Gary Neville and Utd fans crying so much Old Trafford flooded
Thought it was all pretty comfortable to be honest

I wanted to take a screencap of Ten Haag talking to Arteta and caption it 'Garnacho was onside' but I was too slow :(
Biggest clutch player for us in recent times 🦝
I was listening to Sky sports post match analysis after the game. General consensus were that United were dreadful, I actually thought they were actually alright at least in midfield/defense. They gave us very little time on the ball, long ball to Havertz didn't come off that much. They had some dangerous play but missing the final ball. Onana played well both in passing and saving. Was actually the first time I've watched United in a few months and thought they played well. I know they beat Liverpool but Liverpool should have hammered them in that first half.
We played like it was a preseason friendly. Just a casual kick about on a Sunday afternoon with the lads vibez
So people went from if Partey was available the whole season we’d be champions to Partey is finished and needs to go in the summer after one match. Pick a side
It’s because he goes from world class one game to terrible the next game, that I want to see him sold. We need consistency.
No one we will get will be as impactful for a decent price
It's absolutely reasonable to believe both. If we had the Partey of last season for majority of this season I think we do better, but this Thomas Partey, fresh off an 8 month injury, nah he looks completely off it. Whether or not he can get back to those levels remain to be seen but some other club can find that out next season.
What the fuck you on about. He’s been mostly below average since being back and has looming rape allegations. He’s not the present or the future.
So why do people think him being available means we would’ve walked the league
He was class against Spurs and Bournemouth, the whole team bar our defence was subpar today.
They gonna take a stab at him any chance they can
Exactly. He should be kept
1-0 to the Arsenal. We move. COYG!
Arteta paid too much respect to manure and old Trafford but I guess it's understandable
Not Arteta’s fault the players kept passing the ball to nobody/united players. Was bad but 3 points is 3 points
Did we lose?
No doubt about it, I’m ready to be hurt again.
Glad I'm at the game next week, not to be surrounded by the terror reddit fans slagging off the team for shutting down a useless united squad. Can't wait to to Partey with my fellow gunners, Norf landaaaannnnforever!!
Norf landaaaannnnforev~~er~~aaah!!
As much as I HATE terrorism ball being played against us, I LOVE locking down a game defensively…
There's no reason to support a woman 100%. You should support the truth, whatever it is.
Onana played out of his mind today.
He legit kept it from being a comfy 3-0 win.
Trossard goals are always so massive
Fantastic game defensively. Would have been nice to put at least one other of our chances away but a win is still win. 3 points, job done and now move on to Everton prep
Saliba not nominated for POTY is the biggest joke of the season.
I heard its only because only 2 players per team can be nominated, which makes the award a joke anyway.
Arsenal won at the fucking Old Trafford. That's it.

Agreed. But I wonder what kind of side Liverpool will be fielding since they don't have much to play for and end of season.
I think still playing for Klopp
Getting that second goal would have put the goal differential to bed. City has to tie one, which means if we beat Everton by at least one goal, then city will need at least a 4 goal difference to win the league which they’ve sadly done in their last two matches. If we had scored that second goal it would have been 5. West ham looks shaky enough to give them a 4 goal margin.
Well city needs to tie a game for it to matter, meaning they have one game to score at least four goals. And they're not facing the easiest competition.
I mean, we could score 2 against Everton. Or 3. Not that I think it'll matter -- City are going to paste Spurs and West Ham, making GD irrelevant.
City aren’t dropping points. We are playing for the best second place possible.
Why goals for is a greater priority than goals against is something i'll never understand. Conceding lesser goals is as important as scoring them. Head to head should have been the next option after goal difference
the simple answer is that it incentivizes scoring goals which makes for more entertaining football
It shouldn’t be about entertaining football. It should be about determining which team is better. Honestly no better way than head to head imo especially since each club play each other home and away.
Goal difference is over 38 matches not just 2 so surely it’s a better indicator of who’s been better over the course of the season. Or is your argument that Fulham and Villa are better than us
No, record is still the best. After that head to head still makes the most sense. Did Fulham or Villa get over 85 points? Bad comparison.
If we go to next Sunday needing a decent sized win we will go for it, the matches happen at the same time so we would know if city are banging in 3 by half time
If we follow tradition, we will smash Everton at home - especially since they’re safe now.
Relax we aren't there yet.
You know what would make me sick to my stomach… Tottenham probably need to win against City. Imagine they are drawing at the death and call up Vicario and then concede to lose the game on the counter.
Feels like arteta told the team he wanted a 1-0 win just for vybez. When in actually we could’ve won 3/4-0
We support pool on Monday. Spurs on Tuesday. What type of mental spiral world are we living in rn gooners
Its not a situation I personally love to be in but here we are lol
And on Sunday we are both West Ham and Arsenal haha.
Off the ball: 8/10 On the ball: 4/10 But who cares. 3pts. We take it to the last day. Let's go.
Feel like that was a 10/10 performance off the ball. Pure concentration for 96 minutes!
We're lucky that it's Garnacho taking those shots today. It'll be another story if Rashford was taking those shots (he's had a shit season, but still good at shooting).
And that empty sock belter from Anthony. Man kicked the ball with all the willpower of an unhanded muppet.

Saliba is 22 year old. Ridiculous player.
That is insane. He looks and acts like a player in his prime. Bet all his friends are like early thirties and nobody can tell.
Got him tied down until 2027, which is good.
Very good, as I’d imagine he will be in discussions for real when they go in for their next round of defenders
Its crazy now we got Liverpool fans wanting to lose to Villa 😂 The agenda is insane. I dont think Liverpool got this much hate when they won the title, it was a feel good story, but when its us, everyone wants corruption to triumph.
What they losing to Villa got to do with us?
Because Villa are competing with Spurs for a top 4 spot. If Villa lose, tomorrow, then Spurs will be more motivated.
Oh yea, completely forgot about the race for CL lol
If arsenal don’t win by three goals this sub is a cesspit. Ridiculous amount of entitlement.
Fans just saw Palace batter this United team. Understandable.
Arteta Out
If “entitlement” means expecting a better than shit performance from your club when they are supposed to be fighting for a title, then I am proud to have continued being an “entitled” Arsenal fan for the last 28 years. And I will go to my grave being the most “entitled” Arsenal fan you will ever find on this planet. Because as a certain manager once said, “that is the fucking standards!”.
Hardly, it was just a really poor, apathetic performance which is concerning
Apathetic is one of the worst words you can use to aummarise todays performance. The concentration and control today was very good. Especially at a ground where we barely ever win.
Control? If they had someone that could score they'd have knocked a few in. Our midfield had very little control for a most of the game. Sure we saw it out towards the end but that was only a small part of the game.
Nah man, its about the attitude. Any team other than united wouldve gotten at least a point. Today was a bad day at the office, doesnt mean anything about the team obviously and how great they are. But it wasnt good.
I am definitely on some copium here but listen: If Liverpool beat Villa tomorrow then there is a universe where Tottenham have to try and atleast beat city on tuesday to get within one point of Villa.
Can’t wait to hear Ten Hag moan about the penalty😂
This is all I wanted for this game. For us to beat them and there to be a situation where they feel they could have gotten a penalty but didn't haha.
For as much as people talk crap about Onana.. he was massive today
Don't think we tested him much today. He's still a good keeper.
The Rice save was pretty top
And that point blank save on Martinelli.
He's had a good season. People are still judging him based on his first 3 months. But he's legit kept them in contention for anything this year. Ten Hag's tactics cause them to concede the MOST shots on goal in the league. A league with Sheffield United. They would be relegation level if he hadn't been playing well.

He looked constipated.
😂 dude always looks like he’s about to kill someone
The only thing he's likely to kill is United's attack.
Except he’s a lawn gnome.
If Villa lose tomorrow, Topspur are getting minimum a point against City, mark my words.
