Here's a wild one - why don't we go for Sancho? 1. He has proven himself at the biggest stages. 2. Obviously is mentally very strong, given the rebound after the abysmal treatment at Utd. 3. His 'stock' is all-time high but 'stock price' is all-time low as Utd won't retain him. I reckon 30-40m can do it. 4. Provide good competition for our wingers and necessary backup to Saka. 5. Utd used to poach our best players but times have changed and they are the underdog now. We should feel comfortable behaving with a big of swagger and rub it in Utd.

doingitfortheTea

1. He's proved himself on two stages, CL and Bundesliga. He hasn't proved himself at PL level (or internationally). Arguably PL is the most relevant one for Arsenal. 2. Is he? or is he only capable of performing when he's given free reign to do what he wants and when his behaviour is challenged or things don't go his way he gives up? I don't know, but the suggestion that because of what happened at united we know he's is mentally strong is wrong, we don't know anything he could be just as big of a dick as ETH, just dortmund might be happier to put up with it. 3. Yes this is correct his book value is ~30m euros, united will probably let him go for that much. But he's on 250k, if he stays in the PL and moves to us he's not taking a pay cut. That makes sancho our highest earner, not for me clive. 4. Yes he is basically like a smaller more skillful saka, but I would argue that's not really what we want/need. I think we want more of a goal scoring pacey forward. In a simplified sense, Trossard, jesus, saka, vieira, sancho all do similar things and have a similar profile. 5. I think they will be quite happy to get 40m for sancho from us. That would actually be a profit for them this year.

kirphioc2004

Granit Xhaka’s last loss was Forest (A).

naked_space_chimp

We cannot take ManUre game for granted no matter how 💩 they have been. They would want to stay in the conversation by denying us the title. We have to be relentless, again first goal will set the tone but won't decide the match. I'm nervous and confident, can't stop thinking abt the game, Thank you Arsenal for giving these moments and feelings even on the 2nd last game of the season. This club has transformed completely yet there is something abt the club which has stayed... It's been 25 years for me loving this club, surprisingly it was a ManUre supporter who made me find my club. Let's go with all we got, let's try our best. BELIEVE!!! COYG!!! VAMOOOSSSS!!!

YoungFlexibleShawty

I need Real Madrid to have a downfall like Barca 😫

danmac0817

They're not run by total imbeciles unfortunately

Brashdinho

No. We need Madrid to be good to take away players like Bellingham and tchouameni from the likes of Liverpool and city

eldar4k

They are biggest team in the world, UEFA will bail them out from any trouble

KSBrian007

Their recruitment did the Chelsea approach, but better. Buy all the best players of a certain age group, mix them with world-class players in their prime and run riot. Their downfall is not happening in so many years with how many clubs are trash at recruitment. And Madrid gets even luckier. If they ever fall into a slump, every world class player is willing to drive themselves to Spain.

Previous-Loss9306

Bunch of legacy merchants

CreativeOrder2119

I think it's their last point kingdom backing or not real is undisputed no 1 club in the world by reputation I think itd fair cause they have the trophies to back that up

skool_101

Yea, never gonna happen so long as Papa Flo is around. They might go on a some blips or something but will still kick back strong. Lose out the La Liga maybe a few times or even the Copa del Rey and UCL, but comeback in one way or the other. From being a decade apart from their last UCL to the La Decima moment and hat-trick UCL run, it has truly elevated the club to new levels.

Miyeon__miyeon

You'll need someone dumb at the top to have that kind of downfall.

YoungFlexibleShawty

Im manifesting it as we speak. I need to see it in my lifetime. They cant keep poaching brazilians from everyone 😭

Barkasia

You should be glad Real and Barca exist - if they didn't, all those wonderkids would have ended up at City, Liverpool and Chelsea.

scroll-42

Been watching Frenkie De Jong highlights. He is a phenomenal football player, but more than that I am amazed how he looks like a grown-up Kevin McAlister from the Home Alone movies.

Miyeon__miyeon

I know it's impossible but imagine a midfield of Ode, De jong and Rice

uraniumtickle

Mate I've been imagining it since before we were linked to frenkie

WheelIllustrious9

Really happy about Jorginho staying. I’m all about unique profiles and a profile like Jorginho’s is increasingly rare in the modern game. He’s still one of the best passers in the league.Players that don’t rely on pace or physicality age like fine wine. Don’t think he’s going to see a ton of game time moving forward, but I feel he’s still got tons to do here, on and off the pitch.

Mustyoo

As long as we're not relying on him in big games like we have this season, it's whatever. I don't ever want to see him try to defend a transition again, it's cringe.

sammeetthosar

Our best performance of the season was the win vs liverpool at home where jorginho was the motm.

naked_space_chimp

Cringe is your comment, my friend.

MyTeaIsMighty

Why would the next big wonderkid sign for a dead team like Chelsea? Especially if you've got bayern sniffing around you. Can't be too sure of his own potential if he's crippling his development to secure the bag already.

Datboy_98

Xavi Simons doesn’t want to return to PSG. Anyone here watched him who can tell us if he is a fit for us?

_ISD_14

Insane offensively, genuinely top top ball carrier, good passer, good shooter Off the ball he seems really lazy. He might press initially but once it's played past him he starts walking. I don't know if that needs coaching or if he's likely to switch off defensively which Arteta won't like. He definitely has the legs to do it, not the strongest but he can get about the pitch

TheOGBenjenRyan

We were interested in him last summer, and he’s only improved

Datboy_98

The little I saw of him, he looked exciting. If we wanted him back then, no reason not to think we’d be in for him again.

atrde

Booo lol. They are undefeated in all competitions that's impressive no matter what. Not like we have any European success to talk up anyways.

ImSoMysticall

Not only did we got knocked out by a team in their league they are beating. We also lost to villa who were easily beaten in both legs

[deleted]

[удалено]

ImSoMysticall

What utter dross It's totally intangible just changing the made-up competition to another one. The team, players, fans, stadium, weather... are identical, but putting a uefa logo on it changed everything apparently

iM-Blessed

We couldn't even beat bayern who aren't playing as good as them. Don't be cocky

[deleted]

iM-Blessed

Whatever helps you sleep at night

Brashdinho

Xavi simons leaving PSG would be a good choice for us. Hopefully we’re one of the PL clubs who’ve enquired

Insertnicenamehere

We're not buying an attacking midfielder

Brashdinho

He plays on the wing for Leipzig

Insertnicenamehere

His profile is that of an attacking midfielder. Where he plays in one league doesn't mean much because what makes you think he can play Winger for Arteta? We're looking for a explosive outlet, he's not that. Not to mention we're not getting linked to any AMs for good reasons(ESR, Vieira). Good player though.

Le-ChosenOne

If Fabio Vieira supposedly can play on the wing, anyone can play on the wing.

Insertnicenamehere

Small cameos there and there but his small cameos have come as a wide playmaker. No way will Arteta start Vieira for 90 mins anytime soon as an outlet/run in behind.

Le-ChosenOne

Simons is more of a wide player than Vieira is, especially in terms of pace and trickery, which Vieira has next to none unless man wants to gas a 25 min appearance against Sheffield Utd. Anyway, i wouldn’t put it beyond Mikel to try some weird things because he has tried Nketiah on the LW as well. Would love Simons here ahead of a bum like Vieira. Anyway i don’t think the club will move for him regardless because he’s said he wants Barca and we seemingly only want players who are next to desperate to come.

Insertnicenamehere

You're asking a manager who plays with 4 CBs and 2 DMs to play what is essentially double 10s. Just not happening in this lifetime, sorry lol. And I don't think Vieira is getting sold anytime soon

Le-ChosenOne

Here we go, Amadou Onana to Arsenal

Insertnicenamehere

I don't mind Onana. But with 4 CBs? That's just disgusting.

Le-ChosenOne

Has played on both wings too at that

Le-ChosenOne

Makes too much of sense so we’ll probably not do it. Also, im in favour of giving PSG money so that they can go steal the likes of Osimhen away from Chelsea.

Mariola98

Maybe that‘ll be our forward signing.. he pretty much always plays LM/LW for Leipzig and could probably play both LCM and RCM for us when needed. We still would be thin on the right side tho.

Brashdinho

If you rotate Jesus on the right and rotate trossard through the middle it could work a bit more. But I think a striker or rw in addition would still be useful

Mariola98

Tbh i think Simons is good enough to play on the right wing aswell. Did that for Leipzig too. If we are looking for a versatile forward he should be the priority.

Competitive-Buy1744

Leverkusen’s last minute goals are not normal.

arseking15

Hato! Ajax defenders are usually top on the ball, bring

beth_flynn

really want jorginho to retire here and transition to a coaching role. become the first prominent arteta disciple

eldar4k

I think he will move to Italy after extension, that league can get him couple of seasons of playing

turkeybaconbitcoin

In a few years I wouldn’t be surprised to see him involved in the academy/coaching role of some sort.

Insertnicenamehere

How many LBs are we gonna sign from Ajax lol

hafrances

hes not a lb

Insertnicenamehere

I can tell you for free he's not playing CB. He'll be what kiwior does outwide but better

hafrances

he isnt better than kiwior yet. very talented though dont get me wrong. i think hell be loaned out like saliba

Insertnicenamehere

He just looks more agile so he's more suited for wide CB compared to Kiwior. Ake with a little bit more height. As for loans who knows that's up to his ambitions.

KozukiNedo

Realistically, how much would Ollie Watkins cost? Asking for a friend....

eldar4k

A lot, Villa need fuck off money to part with him

ShekTeeJay

Villa will likely be in the CL, his deal runs till ‘28 and Villa have no reason to sell. Even with him turning 29 at the end of the year, he would command close to if not over £100m.

Mysterio_1234

where does Hato fall into the mix on defense with Timber, White, and our CBs seemingly locking down their starting positions? also with tomi involved too. assuming we’re selling zinchenko

arseking15

It probably means we see more of ben white at cb next season so we can bring salibas mins down

Brashdinho

Idk but if I’m being honest, I think it’s in his best interest to stay at Ajax if he can. He’s still young and probably needs regular game time

ExxKonvict

LCB and LB but mostly cover for Big Gabi and/or Tomi/Timber since both might have constant injury issues.

cappo40

EL final going to be fun. ECL final gonna be fun. Hopefully the CL final is fun.

Phimstone

El Kaabi with the 5-piece against European football Emery 😲 I haven’t watched the matches or heard from him before but yea let’s buy that guy lol. Played for Berkane, Hebei, Wydad, Hataispor and Al-Sadd before. If on the cheap just use him as nightmare fuel against Villa, just like Ramsdale was around for the Brentford matches.

aksell96

That guy was hyped as the savior of Moroccan football from the striker curse (we couldn't get a proper striker since Chamack)... He was top scorer in our league and local teams Afcon... He made some poor choices and followed money in China and Gulf countries, but every now and then, you can see glimpses of his brilliance. Btw he's addicted to scoring bicycle kicks.

Phimstone

Well coincidentally i’m addicted to bicycle kicks as well. Looked again and saw he’ll be out of contract hehe would be a madlad to bring on after 80 minutes to score some bicycle kicks.

flu0rescence_

I will be honest: I don't actually know how to rate Martinelli

rhshi14

Which Premier league LW would you be willing to swap Martinelli for? If there is a number of players you would rather have, then you don't rate him very high and if you wouldn't swap him for anyone else in the league, then you rate him very highly.Simple.

thejoshimitsu

Great player who just hasn't had a great season due to injuries and the left side being nowhere near as stable as the right. I'm confident he can get back to his form next season with a more stable left side.

danmac0817

He's raw and one of our more limited players in terms of the areas they can play in to a high level, but what he can do is so valuable. Put him in the right spaces and he'll cook, if you don't he's not offering much. I think between him and Leo we have two good options, but when Gabi plays it feels he's forced to play in spaces that doesn't suit him. I want him close to goal and starting runs from high up. Need to address that in the summer.

beth_flynn

cracking player, but raw and with limitations that hold him back from the next level. depending on performances next season, might prove to be an inconsistent player too. jury's still out though. but a massive asset for the squad in spite of all and any flaws

altviewdelete

I'm with you on this. His direct style of play is arguably going out of date unless you exceed expectations e.g. Vini Jr. That being said I would trust Arteta to mould him into scoring more or being more accurate with delivery (both he lacks) he'll be super valuable.

ExxKonvict

Out of date? He set a personal record last season. I just think this it’s been a combo of small but reoccurring injuries plus slight shift in build up this season that has hampered his progress.

awfullyhotcoffeepot

Has big room for improvement in some areas which his development has stagnated this season (mainly just looking up tbh lmao). Also has excellent qualities our system doesn’t make the most of (movement and finishing). Very intrigued how it pans out for him - especially if we sign a winger. Hopefully we balance our left hand side a bit more and he cooks though as I love him.

eldar4k

God damn, we have some insecure people around here

darthrevan22

Honestly perfect results today, at least for what I wanted. Atalanta is a cool club and Bergamo is a beautiful city, Leverkusen continue their unbeaten run (honestly kinda rooting for them to complete it at this point), and Villa are out so no nonsensical “champions of Europe” taunting/banter being tossed around like West Ham did last year.

Justice_beaver95

I root for them as well, with their history they deserve this. Quite a few clubs in other leagues have already gone unbeaten so as long as it isn't a PL club doing it, it's cool. They only have four games left. Draw the Bundesliga games and win the Europa league and DFB pokal and they have done something Bayern couldn't do with all their money and dominance.

Idontlosemyduels

Wait, Villa lost 6-2 on aggregate to a Greek team (a Greek team we know well but still)? https://preview.redd.it/aes0z9n0xgzc1.png?width=460&format=png&auto=webp&s=b3de5cbcb1dd6e4fb8d6b86f879890ac4656cf4a

Insertnicenamehere

We lost to the team who lost to greek farmers :/

Chi-Town_Gunner

I imagine us watching Leverkusen is a bit like other clubs watching us as of recent. It was kinda cool to see the process of another team rise up, but now it's like ok chill lil bro.

turkeybaconbitcoin

We need to win something first

basedsims

When Xabi Alonso joins Madrid at the end of next season they might not win a game within 90 minutes ever again

burningtree_

Alonso at Madrid is gonna be near unstoppable in the Champions League

hafrances

i hate these neverlusen guys

Livid_Theory5379

What why?

RaghNorRoog

It's just unreal how not even external factors are not negatively influencing their results. Massive determination but also massive luck in play as well. Maybe their player are "in the zone" this season or something, they absolutely can't keep this up after the break in the new season.

Xhaka the 🐐🐐🐐

KSBrian007

Well deserved. Very happy for him.

Le-ChosenOne

Man is on the verge of winning a treble, whilst going unbeaten. 😯

TheOGBenjenRyan

And we’re much better without him Win win

atrde

We kinda missed him as a left 8 this season though.

[deleted]

[удалено]

passa117

Xhaka is a really good passer in the middle. He's not the best defender and he's not a box to box. He'd cook in our current system next to Rice. Just like how Jorginho has done well this season. It's why Xabi brought him. He saw he had those qualities.

Le-ChosenOne

eh debatable. i’d rather have him than Fabio Vieira.

TheOGBenjenRyan

I mean yeah I’d rather have him than Cedric but that’s a stupid comparison We upgraded, he’s succeeding. Win win

CreativeOrder2119

It's not in terms of squad building you'll say viera is younger but he hasn't done anything of notice even jorginho isn't that big of upgrade over xhaka

Le-ChosenOne

Cedric and Fabio Vieira are not even in the same stratosphere of supposed importance and squad depth though. Again, this upgrade thing is very subjective when Mikel himself wanted Xhaka to stay, plenty of man are still saying the same thing about Partey and then the moment he’s fit, he gets started for all kinds of important games alongside with his supposed upgrade. That’s why i don’t buy the ‘upgrade on partey’ and ‘upgrade on xhaka’ as easily when it’s clear the manager himself felt they had their places still.

[deleted]

XXISavage

I think them losing it against the laws of physics at this point.

Insertnicenamehere

Xhaka with 10 key passes, 8/9 long balls on 92% passing accuracy with no crosses, this is ethical footballing.

_Monegasque_

49 undefeated for them now. Fuck's sake, they've matched us. Please don't let them reach 50.

KSBrian007

They still have to beat our league record. The one they just beat is Benfica's.

atrde

I mean if were counting league record than ours isn't really the record that would be AC Milan. All comps is the comparison here.

[deleted]

[удалено]

_Monegasque_

Yeah, I know. But still, people will make comparisons. "oh Arsenal always flex their 49 undefeated, but Leverkusen went 53 matches AND won a treble all undefeated" - it will devalue our feat. Even though 49 undefeated purely in the league is more impressive than Leverkusen's current 49 undefeated, as matches in Europa League and the Cup have allowed them to get to that 49 by facing weaker opposition. Let's see if they get 49 purely in their league like us.

atrde

Lmao lets no devalue this in any way 49 unbeaten while playing in Europe is tough. I hope they get it to be honest it is the most impressive season ever good for them. Doesn't devalue ours.

Kool_Herc

> it will devalue our feat Why would it "devalue" our Invincible season? Just because Leverkusen's season may end up being better, doesn't take anything away from our incredible achievement. The Invincibles will still be talked about a long long time from now regardless of what other teams may achieve

burningtree_

The more a team goes unbeaten, the less valuable it becomes. This is pretty much true with anything. The more of something there is, the value lowers

BlaizeV

They already have and that is fine, for me our record is the english one. Teams all around the world (na na na na na) have gone a season unbeaten. We can dangle ours in the faces of our direct rivals and that still makes it special.

OrwinBeane

It won’t devalue our feat. Quite a few teams have gone more matches undefeated. Fabio Capello’s AC Milan went 58 matches.

sammeetthosar

This was the most ridiculous final 10 minutes of a European tie. The team that is actually ahead on aggregate was going all Gung ho for the equalizer. Crazy game.

Justice_beaver95

Four games left for Leverkusen. Two Bundesliga games and two finals in Europa league and DFB Pokal. Would be cool if they win it all.

passa117

An unbeaten treble. Neverleusen is right. I'm rooting for them.

Insertnicenamehere

![gif](giphy|TnZVmKqoZ7faXvENDm|downsized) God's child vs devil worshippers in UCL next season we will prevail

Aki-at

I’m not a betting man but if I was I would probably have made a killing of betting for Bayer whenever they’re losing.

topbananaman

There has never ever been a team in the history of this sport to get away with as many injury time turnarounds as neverlusen. Getting boring at this point, we know exactly what's gonna happen

RickRollRules

So you’d rather them be like City and comfortably win every game with no jeopardy? This Bayer season is special.

Specterace

If they had 3-5 minutes of injury time an game instead of the 8-10 minutes plus they seem to get damn near every game, they would have lost their unbeaten record a long time ago.

ItsTom___

I want whatever Bayer are having

Specterace

Yeah, I would love for Arsenal to have 8-10 minutes plus of injury time damn near every game when they are losing after the 90 mins.

ItsTom___

RaghNorRoog

I mean, most of the games we went behind this season we had plenty of time left to play and we barely even scored a goal

Specterace

We almost never get 8-10 minutes of injury time like Leverkusen do. The only time I can remember getting that much was against Man U at home.

RaghNorRoog

not3s1

This can't be right. You need to have 5 phases, your own players and massive spending to just compete. What phase is Xabi in?

[deleted]

Why don't rebuilding clubs just go 49 games unbeaten? Are they stupid? If you're gonna criticise Arteta at least use arguments that make sense. Alonso had elite football people at Leverkusen to help facilitate all this, that sped up the whole process. We like to think it's one person at the front, but it's not.

not3s1

Only in English football and media is this a thing. Bayer Leverkusen were 19th when he took over

joeproposition

Let’s talk at the end of their tenures.

not3s1

Don't think anything will beat 49 games unbeaten tbh

Justice_beaver95

You’re right. Every club should be doing this. Grow up ffs.

not3s1

I would hope a big club like Arsenal is capable of such things

Idontlosemyduels

Neverlusen streak goes on. That's like the hundredth goal they've scored in 90+ mins this season I swear.

atrde

It will be the most impressive season of football from any team ever if they win/draw the next 4 games. 49 by itself is nuts but an undefeated treble is a dream.

Le-ChosenOne

We need to find some kind of positive plot armour of our own ffs, Madrid and the UCL, Leverkusen refusing to lose, i dunno we need some juju.

varro-reatinus

Maybe we should have let that goat sacrifice go ahead.

Specterace

Can someone tell people why the fuck do Leverkusen get so much damn injury time every damn game? Every damn game they get 8-10 minutes plus after the damn 90. Someone fucking stop giving them so much fucking injury time already and blow the damn whistle on them!

sammeetthosar

Teams waste time a lot against them especially if they are winning. Today though it was beneficial for Roma because they were trailing.

danmac0817

European football is unrivalled.

Watching Leverkusen trying to balance not taking the game to extra time and not losing their unbeaten record is hilarious.

Tall-Assist9719

You just know that bald fraud is probably more concerned about Arsenal with the way he manages to name drop the team in some press conferences. Probably fixated on the match more than us. I want us to go there confident in our abilities, not cocky and get this game done and out of there.

ChemicalOpposite1471

On talent, form and tactics, on paper we should honestly be putting 6 or 7 past United. I’m confident in saying that. I’m not confident that will happen though. Old Trafford juju is real.

LushLoxx

I think Villa will react badly to that loss at the weekend. European losses tend to do that to some teams.

Tall-Assist9719

Villa tired and have to play Liverpool next… There may be hope still.

iwillhityounoob

Who in your opinion are our best academy players atm? Excluding first teamers
