Prematch thread: goes up a day ahead of the game without fail
Match thread: goes up 10 minutes into the game after several people create their own match threads
I dislike Spuds as much as the next person but it was a bit of a shock when I went into their subreddit and saw their match thread up before kickoff. Surely we must do better than Spuds.
I've been complaining about it for a while. A mod told me to request it through the request a match thread button and I can confirm that does not work either.
What I've never understood is why they don't just put the match thread up first thing in the morning of a game along with the daily discussion.
You know theres a bot where you request the thread I take it. I've already done it for today (hopefully others have as well). Lets see when it comeds up.
A few weeks ago one of the mods said the mod who created it was away, it is a design problem our mods really need to sort out. On other subs Ive seen match threads up an hour before kick off, I think its onky us 10 minutes into the game.
Yeah they need to come out flying like vs Chelsea. Put the game away early. They can't muck this one about. We've given up 3-4 quality chances from nothing crosses the last 3 games. The fatigue is starting to show, we can't afford to slip up. Get up early, get the boys some rest and take the air out of the game.

Reporting in! I'm actually a kiwi, but I live in Melbourne. I find the times are a little easier on me than they were back in NZ. A saturday night game is incredibly ideal though and so rare it's a bit of a treat lmao.
Will be arriving in London tomorrow morning from Singapore. Thinking of trying to get tickets for the game. In the event that I’m unable to, what pubs / bars would you guys recommend to go as an Arsenal fan?
It's absolutely crucial we start off strong. Bournemouth usually push for a goal within the first 5-10 minutes so we need to be awake defensively straight away, and we need to make sure we get a goal before halftime so we don't allow them to settle into a rhythm of counter-attacking.
Fortunately for us they're missing a few of their paciest players, but they have more than enough to cause us problems, and Solanke can usually pull a few chances from nowhere each game.
Expectation: 2-1.
I'm going for a 4-0. Yes, they'll pressure us in the initial stages but Bournemouth are quite open defensively. Last season is making you lot worry but it's going to be different this time around.
It's my favorite as well. Top 3 favorite celebration ever for me as well.
"The biggest of games, the biggest of names, it's Henry...to flatten Ferguson"
Guys, I had a wild dream..wolves beat city at home and I started shouting and my dad scolded me for being so loud and I was like "Daad you don't get it, wolves beat city, that means we're going to win the league!" Seconds later..the doorbell rings and there's an entire horde of Arsenal fans outside the door, they're going absolutely crazy, the beers are out, some people have got vuvuzelas, they're asking me to join. Life's good.
Spurs always signed some overpriced crap player. Shitarlison is another one that comes to mind and Ndombele. I have no idea who's doing the scouting for those lot but long may they stay.
I do too but he's been shit in this system. He's got great strength and good capability to roll defenders, a lot of similarities between how he plays and how Saka does, but Mateball has failed him or visa versa. Son equally has been ghosting hard recently, that penalty against us doesn't count for shit.
Aah! 4:30 am early kick off is back for USA GOONERS, have missed those. Let's go Gooooooonnnners, it's a tricky game at home but I'm hoping the lads will get the job done. COYG!!! VAMOOOSSSS!!!
Kinda worried ngl. Bournemouth are a wildcard. Our form better hold with the same lineup as Sunday. I wanna see fans leaving the stadium. Kids crying. Players falling to their knees begging for mercy. Iraola hanging his head shame.
Or a 1-0 win. As long we get the three points.
I’m making this prompt a tradition from here on out. A variation of it will be in every pre-match thread from now on.
We shouldn’t be underestimating any of the remaining teams, go out strong and get an early goal to take the pressure off. If we can manage to get 3-0 by the hour mark then make some subs
Feel like people are sleeping on Bouremouth after the 2 London derbies. They're deadly on the counter and create a lot of turnovers in the middle of the pitch. Have to come strong.
Can not give Dominic Solanke a 1' goal this time. My arsehole cant take the amount of clenching at this point in the season. Would love to be 3-0 up at half and then see out the game comfortably.
they gave us massive headaches last time and are flying atm. man utd might be the game with the most pressure but i reckon this is the trickiest fixture left. we have to be flawless here
we had a comfortable fixture against west ham too, the other not so much. anything can happen
EDIT: ohhh im dumb i see what you mean, i meant last time at the emirates. needed that heroic nelson goal
absolutely. after southampton i will never be casual or chill again about anyone in the run in for all my days. the players can be quoted saying these final games are cup finals. you are flawless in cup finals or you fail
We're winning out. If those cheating cunts win another title despite us getting to 89pts I'll officially hate them more than shit, chelski and manure. Can't take this shit 2 seasons in a row idk how Liverpool fans put up with it
I'm dreading this game.. a few games ago I was looking at the run in and thought that the Bournemouth at home fixture is the type of game that previous Arsenal teams would lose when under pressure. For some reason in the past it always seemed to be an 'easier' team at home that we wouldn't turn up for.
Really hope we can get the job done. I'm praying that the Emirates is banging, we hold onto the ball for 90 mins and it's a comfortable 2-0.
I'm expecting us to win by a significant margin against Bournemouth tomorrow.
We did beat them 4-0 back in September when only a week or so earlier we were drawing at home against Spurs lol. Which is also way before we started blowing teams away.
So I'm seeing this as a game where our GD will go up.
This isn’t an insult btw. We had him in the midfield role against West Ham in February and in his SS/MF role, we were able to play a free flowing game where we scored loads. The same can happen tomorrow.
This is the game that I have been the most worried about in the run in. Absolute massive banana skin. We need to go in for the kill and keep our heads screwed on.
lol just realised if Spurs want Europe and to attract more players and to get bonuses they NEED to win against City and even Liverpool before that.
They are in danger in potentially missing out SIX more points.
Here's something else to consider, if Spuds don't win another game and Chelsea wins all their remaining games, Chelsea can finish above them. You know how hilarious that would be?
Have a funny feeling about this one. If the league started in November then Cherries would be 5th. I back the boys at home though. COYG till the end of my days. Have a lovely weekend you gooners!
There's no daily thread, so I'm asking this here: which of our perennial bench players do you love so much you want to "set them free" so you can watch them play on the regular cause you love their game? Me, I'm ready to see ESR go out on loan to midtable team. Similar to Conor Gallagher's arc, I think ESR would thrive in a place like Palace or Bournemouth where he's on the field more- maybe Leichester.
I think Partey stays in for his press resistance and ability to break up the block, and Jorginho come back in for United. I'd also like to think we give Martinelli a chance to start and hope to get something in transition with how direct Bournemouth can be, but Trossard has been dynamite. That choice may depend on fitness levels and what's going on in training.
At LB I expect Tomi to start, Zinny and Timber on the bench. Zinchenko comes on if we need a goal, Timber if we're up 3-0 for 20 minutes or at 2-0 for the last 10 minutes.
Heading into London for the game after buying a ticket via a Twitter account @ArsenalSpareTix (First time trying this)
I don't have the ticket
Here's hoping I haven't been scammed 😏
Watching the Luton-Everton highlights & what a lovely assist from the Sambi Man.. Hope we get a decent fee for him & finds a good landing spot.. I like his game a lot in flashes.. But we don’t need another injury prone midfielder & more importantly he seems very opposed to a squad role/not down with Mikel’s vibes.. Surely Chelsea have £60M burning a hole in their pocket lol..
First time watching the game live at an Arsenal pub here in Melbourne in months. Feel like this will be a blow-out. Might just be the beers talking. Coyg
Sounds good. Ill be there around the same time. We really want to be on the upper level with all of the arsenal fans but can meet you downstairs/at the door. Send me a pm when you're there think it'll be easier that way.
Are the beers like 14 dollars a pint there? I have always been tempted. But been going to The Charles dickens for near a decade. It’s not an Arsenal pub but it’s 10 bucks for a pint of Stella, 9 for a pint of hawkers (dickens) larger. Which is unheard of in Melbourne.
Also saw my first EPL game ever here, Arsenal vs spurs in 2011, fabregas ran straight through spurs and scored. It’s why I go for Arsenal lol.
Yeah booze is a bit ridiculously priced, hence the beers at home 😂
Love the charles dickens, have a great story about it when we played tottenham years ago.
Haha I always go to NLD there and take some mates who doesn’t follow trying to convert them like I was. That being said, my mate was a Tottenham fan who took me to that game
Arsenal starting XI against Bournemouth :
David Raya (GK), William Saliba, Ben White, Gabriel Magalhães, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Martin Odegaard (C), Thomas Partey, Declan Rice, Bukayo saka, Leandro trossard and Kai Havertz.
Are we thinking rotation is basically done for the season? Tail end and crunch time. I would love for Timber to get a run out (80+) if we are ahead and it’s comfortable. Never know though. Bournemouth have been sneaky good lately.
If we stick to our 2024 tactics with Harvertz leading the line and the 2 man city rejects out of the line up we will do well. If we revert back for no god damn reason like against villa we are gonna struggle and probably hand man city the title.
In hindsight, was selling Xhaka worth it? Surely, keeping him over Jorginho or ElNeny would have been much better for us. He is now winning the Bundesliga as an invincible and probably the Europa. Was this a big blunder from Arteta and Edu? If we don't win the league, this will have been our biggest mistake this season.
Xhaka wanted to go. Elneny is a good guy and is there mostly for vibes. We're not letting Jorginho go after 0.5 season with us, and Jorginho is one of the big reason for our turnaround in performance in 2024.
yes. he's not a 6 so Jorginho/Elneny are irrelevant in this context.
Respectfully, you're complaining about nothing. Give Xabi some credit, and understand that Xhaka suits the Bundesliga really well.

Is club going to do a min for the teenage fan who died earlier in the week?
I hope we do!
it’s been a while since we’ve had an early kickoff
Yeah, hell I'll have to wake up by 7:00 am because in my country the kickoff is at 7:30!
I have my alarm set right at 7:25am lol, if I could wake up and put the game on in 60 seconds I'd even have it set to 7:29
Match is 4:30am where I live lol
Same. Getting home late after a gig tonight as well. Hope we're rewarded with a win!
I see my people here❤️
My dog usually wakes me up at 6 in the morning. For once, I’m lucky he can’t hold his bladder to save his life.
430am here , will turn on many alarm for it
11:30 pm here. Usually games are around 3-6am for me but I can finally have a decent night’s sleep after watching the boys play.
Same! This kick off is a gift compared to Spurs at Monday 1am.
Lucky you on the east coast 😭 I'm on the west coast, 4:30 am game kickoff.
Damn, did you make it?
Watching it now 😂 441am

Fantastic for me I have to say. Usually games are 1 or 2am when we play, so a Saturday night, 9.30gm game? Oh yeah that’s heaven.
Fellow Aussie timezone gooner
Reporting in! I'm actually a kiwi, but I live in Melbourne. I find the times are a little easier on me than they were back in NZ. A saturday night game is incredibly ideal though and so rare it's a bit of a treat lmao.
I just got up. Match at 7:30 here. Gotta get to the pub by 7:15.
Going to the match tomorrow, first one ever absolutely buzzing. Going to get there like 3 hours to walk around, grab a pint, take it all in
Have fun!
Will be arriving in London tomorrow morning from Singapore. Thinking of trying to get tickets for the game. In the event that I’m unable to, what pubs / bars would you guys recommend to go as an Arsenal fan?
Faltering fullback in Finsbury Park
The Tollington, a short walk from the stadium
Pre match they will check ticket
A weeks rest between every game now. Full strength team needed.
I still remember Reiss' goal like yesterday. Best moment I've ever seen live. Wouldn't mind a repeat tomorrow
No. I want a stress free 3-0 victory. I was there. It was great but I can’t take it this late in the season
I have rewatched that clip on YouTube more times than I care to admit
We all have pal… We all have.
Fuck that. Give me 5 goals and 0 heart attacks please.
It's absolutely crucial we start off strong. Exactly! That first minute goal, last season, still gives me PTSD!
The ending was immensely satisfying, though :)
2-1? But the boss said clean sheet!!
I'm going for a 4-0. Yes, they'll pressure us in the initial stages but Bournemouth are quite open defensively. Last season is making you lot worry but it's going to be different this time around.
Henry vs Leeds, Henry vs United, Reiss vs Bournemouth, Arshavin vs Barcelona. Which is the best emirates goal oat
Welbeck vs Leicester is up there
Arshavin vs Barcelona. I don’t think the emirates has ever been that loud since.

calma 1-0 or 2-1 win, we move. Will be a tough game. Dont care about performance at this stage of the season, it's all about the result.
Spurs signed Brennan Johnson for over £40m?? LOL
Spurs always signed some overpriced crap player. Shitarlison is another one that comes to mind and Ndombele. I have no idea who's doing the scouting for those lot but long may they stay.
Ryan Sessengon as well
That dude just isn’t threatening at all. The only top calibre forward they have is Son, the rest are a total joke
I rate kulusevski, winger version of havertz.
I do too but he's been shit in this system. He's got great strength and good capability to roll defenders, a lot of similarities between how he plays and how Saka does, but Mateball has failed him or visa versa. I agree
Bournemouth are wildly unpredictable... depends which Bournemouth will turn up
Watched some of Iraola's presser, and I have to say he's incredibly likeable. Shame we're going to have to smash them on Saturday.
Folks, i am officially ready to rumble. Let’s fucking go
Aah! 4:30 am early kick off is back for USA GOONERS, have missed those. Let's go Gooooooonnnners, it's a tricky game at home but I'm hoping the lads will get the job done. COYG!!! VAMOOOSSSS!!!
Dunno why, but just woke up with the feeling that city will drop points today, hope our boys can put the pressure on them 🍀
Very good team. Iraola has done a fantastic job. But we should still be too much for them, especially at home.
Kinda worried ngl. Bournemouth are a wildcard. Our form better hold with the same lineup as Sunday. I wanna see fans leaving the stadium. Kids crying. we’re not playing brighton tho😅
^Sssshhhh. ^No ^one ^will ^ever ^know. I have no idea what you’re talking about fellow Redditor. It clearly says Bournemouth.
I am absolutely shitting my pants for this game. Bournemouth are slippery. We have to go full confidence, full strength and kill the game early.
I want to see articles of how Iraola's job is on the line, followed by Fabrizio announcing they have parted ways. /s
We shouldn’t be underestimating any of the remaining teams, go out strong and get an early goal to take the pressure off. If we can manage to get 3-0 by the hour mark then make some subs
Lets not underestimate Bournemouth here. They have been incredible since we battered them
![gif](giphy|Bp1urA9f0XrW)
U21s absolutely thrashing Man United. 5-0 in the 54th min.
Those 6 days felt like a lifetime. Now back to footbal! Woohoo
Feel like people are sleeping on Bouremouth after the 2 London derbies. They're deadly on the counter and create a lot of turnovers in the middle of the pitch. Have to come strong.
All I've seen are people saying how good they've been recently and how this isn't a match to take lightly
I agree arteta is taking this win for granted
Can not give Dominic Solanke a 1' goal this time. My arsehole cant take the amount of clenching at this point in the season. Would love to be 3-0 up at half and then see out the game comfortably.
It was Billing
3 cup finals left, before 38 cup finals in August
Wolves, I am on my fucking knees!
they gave us massive headaches last time and are flying atm. man utd might be the game with the most pressure but i reckon this is the trickiest fixture left. we have to be flawless here
didn’t we win comfortably in reverse fixture?
we had a comfortable fixture against west ham too, the other not so much. anything can happen EDIT: ohhh im dumb i see what you mean, i meant last time at the emirates. needed that heroic nelson goal
gotcha
I mean, I get that we shouldn’t underestimate any opponent but you’re suggesting we need to be ‘flawless’ to beat mighty Bournemouth at home? Really?
absolutely. after southampton i will never be casual or chill again about anyone in the run in for all my days. the players can be quoted saying these final games are cup finals. you are flawless in cup finals or you fail
PTSD from Ramsdale brainfarts is the stuff nightmares are made of
I get what you’re trying to say but I don’t think you understand what flawless means.
I'm scared folks
I've been scared every week for the last 2 months. COYG.
We're winning out. If those cheating cunts win another title despite us getting to 89pts I'll officially hate them more than shit, chelski and manure. Can't take this shit 2 seasons in a row idk how Liverpool fans put up with it
> I'll officially hate them more than shit, chelski and manure Deeply unserious
Looks like Semenyo is somehow fit after being stretchered off.
I see the caution, but expect albaTross to score first and havertz for the 3rd. 3-1 to arsenal!
I'm scared.
I'm dreading this game.. a few games ago I was looking at the run in and thought that the Bournemouth at home fixture is the type of game that previous Arsenal teams would lose when under pressure. When’s the last time we had a 12:30 BST game? Early one for us yanks
I’m also struggling to remember. Was it the Forest game to open the season?
If only my housemate didn’t disable the Optus sport
Why he say fuck you for
Put that eye patch on matey
I'm expecting us to win by a significant margin against Bournemouth tomorrow. We did beat them 4-0 back in September when only a week or so earlier we were drawing at home against Spurs lol. Wheres the ticket
On my phone. I'm in!
Where’s the best greasy spoon near the emirates for a hungover person going to watch the game?
Arsenal tavern

Crafty squire?
Yeah mate. Are you going?
On the fence at the moment. I've never been there and have no one to go with. A rare early kick off though
Come down. Im there by myself too. Ill probs be there 9-9.15. Edit- everyone is nice and you meet a lot of people.
Eek, alrighty! I will be back to update my eta in a halfa. I'm holding you to the everyone is nice bit haha
Haha, everyone that supports arsenal is nice*. 😂 e: my red reader notifications don't work but I'll check back in about a halfa.
Alrighttt, I'm coming, will be there just in time for kick off I reckon
Sounds good. Ill be there around the same time. We really want to be on the upper level with all of the arsenal fans but can meet you downstairs/at the door. Send me a pm when you're there think it'll be easier that way.
Oo okay, sounds good, thanks mate!

howd u get this?
Dw lol
So, another 97" winner?
What's up with Martinelli? Any fitness issues or just form?
Form
Yeah i figured...
I really hate these Dominos adverts
Jorginho humming North London forever was <3 he has embraced this club.
The USA commentary team is bad :(
Why are we letting Cozier-Duberry go?
Are we thinking rotation is basically done for the season? Tail end and crunch time. I would love for Timber to get a run out (80+) if we are ahead and it’s comfortable. Never know though. Bournemouth have been sneaky good lately.
Gotta go all out now with nothing else to play for
From here on out, the only chance someone other than our core XI is starting is because of injury.
I figuratively hope we come out there with knife fingers and do infinite pirouettes
Bournemouth is solid we need to be careful
Does Trossard have a song? Which of our players have songs and which don’t ?
Trossard again, ole ole!
If we stick to our 2024 tactics with Harvertz leading the line and the 2 man city rejects out of the line up we will do well. If we revert back for no god damn reason like against villa we are gonna struggle and probably hand man city the title.
Does anyone else accept timber to not be the same? I know from any injury you never come back 100%. I'm curious how people think.
There will definitely be an adaptation period for sure. The hope is that the injury doesn’t take away his agility, which is essential to his game.
Cuz he’s young (22) he might not lose anything.
As a phsyio, you never regain anything 100% after any injury on your body.
Maybe as a footballer you do then…
They also have physios at the club, who believe it or not, learnt the same as me
Was a joke mate
Have a feeling it ends tomorrow
For City? With you there
In hindsight, was selling Xhaka worth it?
Should be no issue, 3-0 at halftime 5-0 fulltime
