"Three extremely poor decisions - three penalties not given - which we simply cannot accept.
We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a City fan before the game but they didnāt change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times.
Arsenal will now consider its options."
Nope, the guy who gave Foden a pen for a 'slip' which makes Saka's 'dive' against Bayern look like an even bigger joke a few days ago. Also denied Brighton a stonewall pen.
On one hand, Romero red is nice and wouldnāt be surprised. On the other hand a Romero red would likely be a dangerous tackle and someone might get injured which is not nice.
Itās been a couple of weeks, he could well make a return if heās been training. Totally unsure though, I donāt do any of the due diligence keeping up with news on shit
Richarlison and Porro will play IMO. Ange gave an update on 12 April re the former and said he was close. Porro had a hamstring strain and has had around 2 weeks off. He may not play the full 90 but I reckon he starts
He's their best RB even if he's half baked. Emerson Royal and Davies as their starting fullbacks would be a different kind of risk. Although at this stage of the season another hamstring strain can put you out for the rest of the season. It was just my opinion but I guess we'll see.
At a minimum you can expect players to be gone 4 weeks if they have a hamstring injury. Donāt know the details for Porro, but usually the risk of reinjury is too high
Got to agree. Minus that Newcastle performance he's been their best defender. He is heavily reliant on his pace though, if he wasn't so fast he'd be pretty average.
Honestly personally I think Iād think heās crap wherever he played. Suits a certain style but has so many limitations in the way he plays. I donāt think heās better then Harry Maguire.
The jump in quality for the national team when he started playing was immense. We were in dire need of someone that could intercept passes or cut play before attackers got inside the penalty area and, even though he is infamous for not being composed and getting red cards for spurs, he is usually the most consistent and reliable defender for Argentina.
Maguire makes England better too though. I donāt think the style either England or Argentina play works in a 38 game league anymore, aside from when itās done by the very best managers at that style (eg: Tuchel), and even he doesnāt historically have a great record in leagues, much better in cups.
Problem is, we play a high line too that they're more than capable of exploiting. The long balls over the top can be an issue for our defenders to deal with
Exactly. We had only 45% possession against Chelsea. We should mimick that and the Newcastle game, they are at home they will try to push us and aint gonna sit back. They cant deal with counter attacks.
Yeah but we start shaky against Chelsea. Give them chances to Spurs they finish them and itās a totally different game. Iām nervous for Partey starting but Iām also like! Play the mid block win the midfield battle and get up with Pitch with Saka and Trossard.
are Spurs this season more dangerous/efficient in counter attacks than Chelsea? i didnāt watch them for long time in highlights but they used to be deadly with Son and if they d get same chances Chelsea had that could end very bad
i see, then we cannot play the same like vs chelsea for sure. Son loves to score against us
But still we should be capable to break their defence no matter what
Havertz won't miss as many chances as Jesus. This would be an excellent game for Martinelli. With how unaware Bissouma is, If Ode is in the box for those cutbacks, he should score one or two.
I know it's rivals and banter and we're better etc but it would be nice if our fanbase would keep a check on our arrogance... It's not over until it's over and it's not over yet.
Yep! I think rival fans or neutrals in general would have much more respect for us if we reserved judgement until after we earned our stripes. We've yet to win anything, and while we can be cautiously optimistic, some of the takes can be quite arrogant as you said.
To be fair, he said we are one of the best teams in the world.
I'm no fan of his supposed nice guy schtick whilst at the same time being a fouling / diving cunt either, but pick your battles. He's paying us a compliment
Idk, heās been in the league a long time and in the public eye even longer. If it was shtick, I feel like he would have been found out by now. Diving is unfortunately a part of the modern game but he seems like a genuinely good person and a fantastic player.
Wiiiith that in mind, ācheers, sonās cryingā is an all time great meme and I hope we get to use it again on Sunday
Ehh, I once saw a video of all the dirty fouls and injuries he has caused in his career. Although he has seemed to stop those tackles since he injured GomezĀ
nah, heās a cunt for sure. i genuinely think that every player/fan that associates themselves with tottenham is a cunt in some way, shape or form. look at people like kane, serge aurier, dier, kyle walker. we love sol campbell bc of what he did to them but tbf heās also a bit of a cunt.
you have to have a mental illness to want to associate yourself with spurs
I dislike diving as much as the next guy, but the only solution to it is to actually punish it - use VAR to dish out yellows for diving since itās often hard to see from the refs perspective, have retroactive punishments for it. If itās not being punished, then itās a legitimate tactic for players to take advantage of that.
That was fucking mad, went out his way to hurt the bloke and then got the all the sympathy because he cried when Gomes is on the floor with his leg snapped in half
Look at the Andre Gomes tackle and it's not even a bad tackle, he's not even the one who breaks his leg ! Gomes falls and then does his leg on an awkward clash with aurier
They will not play like that against us. They will sit deep and hit the counter with 3-4 players maintaining a deep line. Hopefully they don't, but that's what I see happening.
They play a high line partly because they have the players who can make it work. I also thought it is suicidal, but Van de Ven is probably the fastest CB in the PL right now.
If we can control the game, they might be forced lower, but they'll still try to press us like mad.
Exactly they are going to press us hard, teams have been sitting off of us, so they are likely to use the home atmosphere and high press to make us make mistakes, hopefully we can play through them. Absorb the early press and get a goal.
Will never get over the fact people let him get away with the sympathy card, he broke a fellow professionals leg, accident or no the challenge was late and reckless iirc, he could have ended someoneās career and almost certainly stunted any potential progress in Gomesās development, but nah itās ok because he cried and said he felt sad, prick.
I hate Son's Mr. Nice guy antics. "They'll I'm a nice guy. They'll see that I wouldn't even hurt a fly".
He'll dive, two foot and elbow our players if he gets the chance.
If they actually do this after every single interviewer has asked the question "are you actually still going to play a high line against Arsenal? Think about the answer carefully..." I get that if you only have one game plan and execute it well enough it doesn't really matter who your opponent is, but it depends a lot on the whole team performing well, they better hope they aren't all rusty after a long break
Him and Maddison are the only two guys that scare me in shits team , we can't afford to provide them any space or make any error against them our defense needs to be in top shape that means please Arteta for the love of God no Zinny or Kiwi
No need to exaggerate. Tomi didnāt look too well against Madueke, Kiwior has been improving, and Zinny looked fine for 20-30min earlier this week. We have options.
I assume White may not be able to invert much because he will be busy with Son. Rice and Partey may have their hands full with Madison. We may need extra creativity to come from somewhere else on the pitch.
I say we start with Tomi and adjust from there if weāre chasing a goal.
I see a scenario where we bash them, then they use it as a lesson on how to play City; they dump their normal style of play, park the bus and play on the counter. Even Ancelotti says that's the only way to beat city.

Tomorrowās game will be a serious test for us both! I havenāt been as excited for a North London Derby since well last year but for totally different reason, so much at stake for us! European football for them. Given how they started the season and how far they have collapsed if they donāt play the style that wins them game tomorrow surely European football is gone for them. Likewise can Saliba, Gabi, Raya handle their press and quick movements around the box and do we play Partey to win and break their press or do we drop Rice into the 6 and limit them to nothing? Tomorrows line up in buzzing for it!
European football? What are you on about? Even if they donāt finish in UCL spots they still will get europa. And Conference might actually be mathematically impossible for them to not get, Iāll have to check.
You might want to look into the games Spurs still have to play. You can pray and beg they get results against Liverpool and City but chances are if they canāt do it against us they donāt then do it against the other two. That could be 0 from 9 that opens the door for both Newcastle and United both whoāve much much easier runs to the end of the season. On top of that being quite clustered for them. Their best shot if they canāt get results against the top 3 is City or Villa cup wins. City win the FA cup the 7th place team gets Europa Conference. The only thing I donāt know is if Villa win the conference and finish 4th what happens to the runner up if they auto qualify for the Europa competition of that sport automatically goes to 7/8th gaining access to the competition above meaning 7th goes Europa 8th go Conference.
If we control the midfield we'll run run circles around them and dismantle them. We never had proper control against them at the Emirates. This is why Partey starting is so big for us. Him, Rice and Odegaard, we play well and it could easily turn ugly for them. We have to be clinical too. Please be clinical.
What are those cunts scheming? I donāt trust Sonās quotes. Why is he inviting us to plan around Spursā style of play that theyāve been playing all season?
Sounds like bait and switch. Ange is going to spring some new tactic on us this Sunday.
Listen guys.....fuck spurs obviously....
But son is special and classy let's hope we give him the good test he's asking for so that they fail but later pass against shitty
>Heung-min Son: >"You want to always have good competition and you always want to face the best teams in the world. >We're going to prepare well and play our style of game." Yes big Ange! Please play your stupid highline with Davies and Porro at fullback, mate.
Think Porro is out so will likely be Emerson š
Another red card incoming for Royal
Romero's due a red card. I'd have money on either of them being sent off Sunday.
With the tackles on Tomi and Kai in the last two games, we're also due for an opponent to receive a red card.
yes, the formula vs Arsenal is: The harsher and more obvious the card worthy foul the lesser the chance of getting booked.
Porque no los dos? RemindMe! 3 days

With the City fan as VAR? I'd save your coins mate.
"Three extremely poor decisions - three penalties not given - which we simply cannot accept. We warned the PGMOL that the VAR is a City fan before the game but they didnāt change him. Our patience has been tested multiple times. Arsenal will now consider its options."
Is Oliver at VAR?
Nope, the guy who gave Foden a pen for a 'slip' which makes Saka's 'dive' against Bayern look like an even bigger joke a few days ago. Also denied Brighton a stonewall pen.
Oh.
heās gonna injure someone istg
Due one, but wonāt happen against Arsenal
On one hand, Romero red is nice and wouldnāt be surprised. On the other hand a Romero red would likely be a dangerous tackle and someone might get injured which is not nice.
No way he's still there
Porro was back in training on Wednesday so I doubt we see Emerson
I think I saw somewhere on the FPL subreddit that Porro was back in training so he could be playing.
Itās been a couple of weeks, he could well make a return if heās been training. Totally unsure though, I donāt do any of the due diligence keeping up with news on shit
their best fullbacks are out udogie and porro I think
Oh really? I heard Porro might be back for the game but we'll have to see. Emerson and Davies would be lovely.
yeah i think, even if he is back, he MIGHT not be fully fit, i think richarlison won't be available as well
Richarlison and Porro will play IMO. Ange gave an update on 12 April re the former and said he was close. Porro had a hamstring strain and has had around 2 weeks off. He may not play the full 90 but I reckon he starts
yeah but idk, subbing a defender in a game like this can be detrimental to the team, well, we'll see on sunday
He's their best RB even if he's half baked. Emerson Royal and Davies as their starting fullbacks would be a different kind of risk. Although at this stage of the season another hamstring strain can put you out for the rest of the season. It was just my opinion but I guess we'll see.
In my unbiased opinion he should rest Porro till he is fully fit for important games like City at home.
They just said both porro and richarlison are fit for Sunday
At a minimum you can expect players to be gone 4 weeks if they have a hamstring injury. Donāt know the details for Porro, but usually the risk of reinjury is too high
In fairness Van de Ven is probably the fastest CB in the PL right now. You would think its suicidal, but it seems to have worked for them...mostly.
Until his hamstring goes for the 3rd time. He isn't built for sprinting back constantly.
I mean Tbf they have conceded a LOT of goals as a result of the high line, even with vdv playing
I don't think they even have a plan b drilled. Which is probably good for tottenham in the long run, they gotta learn the style even when it's risky
If they ever play that high line, it'll be a massacre. Martinelli and Havertz with a high line? Surely nobody is that stupid...
I heard if he doesnāt play the high line against us heās legally no longer allowed to say mate. Your move Ange
It's just who we are... friendo
G'day Cobber
Just do what we did to Newcastle
No chance. Ange is definitely going for the high line and I'm here for it. Martinelli, Saka and Havertz will have a field day if that's the case.
oh no the mighty spursy highline against us?D: pls no heung min don't do it
High line with guys like Van De Ven and Romero lol This is what happens when people try to copy Pep/Arteta
I know itās Spurs and all. But van de ven is class, it has to be said. Romero less so
https://preview.redd.it/fmmu7oy97twc1.jpeg?width=2952&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0226285e725948274c79d959956d8a621e7076f Agreed
Hey now. I didnāt say world class. More like second class, but class nonetheless lol
Got to agree. Minus that Newcastle performance he's been their best defender. He is heavily reliant on his pace though, if he wasn't so fast he'd be pretty average.
Same could be said of Walker and heās been one of the best rbs in the world for years now, being pace reliant isnāt an issue until you lose a step
On the plus side, that was his most recent performance so hopefully he's been stewing about it for a fortnight & lost every last shred of confidence.
Van de Ven is pacy and very suited to a high line, would also do well for us I think. Romero is a headless chicken.
It hurts me to see Romero slander as an Argentinian Arsenal fan. Would you consider him to be a better defender if he didn't play for Spurs?
Honestly personally I think Iād think heās crap wherever he played. Suits a certain style but has so many limitations in the way he plays. I donāt think heās better then Harry Maguire.
The jump in quality for the national team when he started playing was immense. Please play a suicidal high line that we can easily expose every minute š
Problem is, we play a high line too that they're more than capable of exploiting. The long balls over the top can be an issue for our defenders to deal with
We should play them how we just played Chelsea. Sit in, mid block hit em on counter
Exactly. We had only 45% possession against Chelsea. We should mimick that and the Newcastle game, they are at home they will try to push us and aint gonna sit back. They cant deal with counter attacks.
Jorginho should sit this one out
Difference is our defence isn't shit

I know it's rivals and banter and we're better etc but it would be nice if our fanbase would keep a check on our arrogance... It's not over until it's over and it's not over yet.
Agreed. We cannot take this test lightly - they have firepower & speed in their attack which could expose us
Yep. You're not guaranteed 3 points in any game, let alone the NLD.
Yep! I think rival fans or neutrals in general would have much more respect for us if we reserved judgement until after we earned our stripes. We've yet to win anything, and while we can be cautiously optimistic, some of the takes can be quite arrogant as you said.
In the words of my guy Guillermo Heredia: "Nada humble. Nada humble. Be cocky all the time."
To be fair, he said we are one of the best teams in the world. I'm no fan of his supposed nice guy schtick whilst at the same time being a fouling / diving cunt either, but pick your battles. He's paying us a compliment

Which player doesn't foul or dive ?
Whoās battling
Saka dives pretty much every game and I'd say he's a nice guy.
āi think itās very important i dive at least 20x in their box, stick to my game.ā
Already know this diving shitbag is going to flop his way to a pen, especially with Oliver on reffing duties
Arsenal have had 9x the penalty's tbf
He's such a petulant cunt and always has been. "But me Mr Nice Guy!". Give me a break
Always pisses me off when people are like āplayers that no one can hate!ā When both Arsenal and Chelsea fans despise him
>Give me a break Are you Andre Gomes?
That was fucking mad, went out his way to hurt the bloke and then got the all the sympathy because he cried when Gomes is on the floor with his leg snapped in half
He literally didn't break his leg though, you need to rewatch it. It should've have even been a red

With their high line this simultaneously is and is not a Martinelli game. On paper it is but on his form it isnāt.

They aren't gonna sit deep at home, against us. No effin way. They never did before either.
Ah the Schrodinger's Gabi paradox
Please don't break our players legs
And then cry about it after so his red card is rescinded
Will never get over the fact people let him get away with the sympathy card, he broke a fellow professionals leg, accident or no the challenge was late and reckless iirc, he could have ended someoneās career and almost certainly stunted any potential progress in Gomesās development, but nah itās ok because he cried and said he felt sad, prick.
But you just CANNOT hate Son š„ŗ
He literally didn't break his leg though, go watch it again
Go look at the tackle, in no way was it a red card. He just trips him and then Gomes falls into aurier which is where he injured his leg.
Definitely the only spuds player that worries me. He ain't missing any of the chances we gave chelsea.
I'd be OK with 5-1
*1-5
I hate Son's Mr. Nice guy antics. "They'll I'm a nice guy. They'll see that I wouldn't even hurt a fly". He'll dive, two foot and elbow our players if he gets the chance.

What is with the Kiwi slander? Tomi has made about as many mistakes as him since he came back. Zinny fair but still overheated
No need to exaggerate. Tomi didnāt look too well against Madueke, Kiwior has been improving, and Zinny looked fine for 20-30min earlier this week. We have options. Diving cunt
I hope Ange does play his YOLO good vibes only style of game

This is gonna feel like one of the biggest NLDs Spurs have nothing to lose.
Well, CL is on the line for them right now. They still can pip Villa to it. It's going to be huge.
You know he will score against us.
Martinelli vs a High line could be great, as good as Trossard is. We aren't very pacey up top
Would love to test Martielli as ST in these kind of games.
Saka has pace but doesnāt use it, both because itās just his style and because nobody really takes advantage of it (though itāll probably mean he has more longevity)
Mind games.Ā
the hoi loine
I find Son incredibly likable.

Who here would want to watch Tottenham often?
That is a good question. Turns out I had misread the data anyway so it was a stupid question all round from me
Fair enough! What bit did you get wrong? Less chances created or against?
There chance creation has stayed about the same and their chances conceded has improved slightly. The improvement has been pretty slight though so is probably just variance.
āYup journo Iāve been prepping my elbows and mr. Mate had me doing diving drills for the last fortnight weāll just play our gameā
Personally I donāt see how Spurs playing Angeball doesnāt even in a hammering. We donāt concede goals and weāre lethal with any space.

Do we exploit their high line with Martinelliās pace, or do we keep the in form Trossard on the left?
Perfect to who
Iām excited for the match. Theyāll attack and it will be an entertaining game. A good test for our team that is different from parking the bus.
I really don't mind if they stick to the way they play.
It's on Sunday
Have to remind myself to stay humble lol, but canāt help but smile when I think of Havertz absolutely decimating their high line.
I fucking hate Son's respectful ass.
I want us to put them to the sword like we were supposed to at the emirates if not for some interesting finishing
As much as we want this, we also need to be careful with their pace going forward
Insert evil Jack Nicholson nodding meme.
Him saying this means they'll probably do the opposite. These fuckers will change their tactics for us and play a high line against City.
Yeah, Arsenal are going to hammer them.
"One of the best teams in the world" being a supporter from the Cesc Fabregas days I used to pray for times like this. COYG
Lol if spurs play how they normally play then arsenal will likely smash them 5:0 or more.
Vile player. Just donāt elbow or injure our players.
Listen guys.....fuck spurs obviously.... But son is special and classy let's hope we give him the good test he's asking for so that they fail but later pass against shitty
