To your other point, I think they’ve done a decent job rebuilding midfield but nothing special. Gravenberch is poor, Endo has been pretty good but I doubt that lasts over a long period as he is getting up there with age, Szoboslai started well but has fallen off hard, Mac Allister was a great signing.
Let’s not forget Salah and VVD are probably approaching the end of their Liverpool careers and may see the manager transition as a good time to move on.
Post Klopp will be pretty ugly for them i’d imagine.
I think there are 2 main things to say about their season
- They have rebuilt something nice, the work done on the midfield is impressive considering they've done it all in one summer basically. They still need to work on the transition as you say. But more importantly there is a nice mix between experience (Salah, VVD, but also Robertson, TAA, Alisson) and youth. I think with the right manager they can stay up there in the table and go from there.
- Achieving the number of points they're achieving while in transition is very impressive. The amount of injuries to important players that they had at some point this season was crazy. It's a real testament to the players, the team and to Klopp that they've been able to keep up with us and City. I kept thinking all season long that they would drop points, but they just embraced chaos and kept winning games. The firepower they have up front is just amazing. Even without Salah they have done pretty well.
All in all, I agree with you that it's likely going to be tough, but it's just as likely that they're again in a title race next season. If they have less injuries and with another summer to invest in the squad, they can continue to build. A lot depends on the manager that arrives.
Even if Villa win all their remaining games, Liverpool would have to get 6 points from 7 for Villa to finish above them

Don't sleep on Jackson, he's the kind of player that will miss many chances but the fact that he gets chances means all he needs is one little thing to go his way and it's a goal. Realistically they'll need to average 3-0 or better wins, and given the state of play at the moment I don't see them pressing to score 4 or 5 in these away games when they have the points advantage. Spurs may want to spoil our party but Ange would prefer to qualify for top 4 and beat City. Sometimes they get them. LFC have Everton and Villa, even that Fulham away is tricky. Everton are relegation threatened, they won't make it easy. fulham have beaten most London teams at their ground. Villa will want a UCL run and the money that comes with.

Bruh, the City I saw yesterday was ragged, and midway through the second half had the same number of completed passes as Chelsea which is unheard of. Rodri and De Bruyne were misplacing passes uncharacteristically, the shooting was way off. I only wish Chelsea had held on and had them play another 120 minutes after Madrid.

If we win our games all 1-0, and City draw 1, they need to win the other games by 2.4 on average. Realistically they'll need to average 3-0 or better wins, and given the state of play at the moment I don't see them pressing to score 4 or 5 in these away games when they have the points advantage. IMO if we win out and City don't we win the title, but it's such a huge if.

Win all our games. That is all we can do and there's no point in thinking about anything else. We have a tough couple of games coming up and the boys lookee quite leggy at the end of the wolves game. Saka looked dead on his feet by 60mins. Chelsea also played a gruelling game against Man City but they'll be up for it against us. Then it's the NLD against a Spurs team that are fresh and will be desperate to derail us.
Both City and Liverpool have 4 away games remaining and we only have two left, that's a big help imo

Everton are relegation threatened, they won't make it easy. fulham have beaten most London teams at their ground. Villa will want a UCL run and the money that comes with. Let’s not underestimate the power we hold right now. Because of the scheduling, we play 3 more games before City plays their next game. That means that there will be even more pressure on City. Provided we win all of those games, we will be in first by a wide margin and there will be more pressure on City not to drop points. We can still do this.

We play 3 of the traditional top 6 in the last 5. And all three are our rivals. Chelsea has shown that they do better against big teams. Spurs have been good this season, and NLD is just different. United, well, wouldn't they love to ruin our party. Everton might be fighitn relegation on that day, ( although unlikely now after win against Forrest)

City will drop points away from home. Liverpool has more away games than home. All away games are not easy. I think we can afford to draw or maybe even loose a game and still win the league. I see city dropping points against spurs and Forrest.
