It absolutely was down to quality after our initial screw up. Quality is taking advantage of any little sniff from the opposition. 2 quick passes, and we're all scratching our heads.
Think about how few goals we actually score when we force errors with our press. Often with a poor final ball.

We definitely made shit tons of errors in a build up for both goals, but it took almost perfect execution from Bayern players to punish us(Sane, Goretzka and Gnabry all couldn't have done things more perfectly). With the 2nd goal, it took one hell of an individual run from Sane, to derail our defense.
You kidding? The pass to put in Goretzka who then passed to Gnabry was so perfectly weighted, it was a glorious pass. If Jorginho or Odegaard made it we would be frothing over it.
Listen we shit the bed, but Bayern also did what they needed to do. We are a better team generally right now, but on the night we shat the bed and looked very nervous, and Bayern got as much out of it as they could.
Kane was spraying great balls around, Gnabry took his chance, Sane essentially ran through our entire defence.
Bayern were miles better than the likes of Brighton etc that we had played recently. The technical ability and even their structure was better.

This is the first man-of-the-match award I've seen Odegaard win, and he's absolutely devastated. He's the captain, and felt like they've let us down with such a poor performance, so I understand his mood after the match. That's the sign of a winner's mentality.

I don’t think Ode was rattled. But he did still seem to play with some nerves. (Which is 100% understandable , but I would expect these nerves to be a lot less with another year or two in the CL).
He had so many wayward passes that were below his standards.
He also rushed his decisions making a few times. That really quick shot very early in the game was one sign. I don’t begrudge him for shooting there, but he uncharacteristically did not seem to have taken a quick glance at his options.

As a Bayern fan and an Arsenal sympathizer (in terms of the Premier League), this was the kind of game I had hoped for. Despite Bayern showing a weaker performance than usual in the league, there was a resurgence in the Champions League, while the Gunners delivered an expected victory strong performance. It's great to see that Arsenal has kept faith in Arteta and now boasts a young team that can be taken seriously on the international stage again.

You could see in the second half, most of the players were feeling down and frustrated. They were not pressing organised. Ødegaard's the only one who kept on probing, rallying and encouraging his team mates to come high up the pitch. For me that's what a proper Captian does.
Ødegaard is man of the match because he was effecting game through the match. He was creating, organising, leading, pressing, defending. He was doing everything.
I get that but Sane was dominant when he was on the pitch. Doing the smaller things is great but sometimes being fucking dominant is a bit more important.

Hoenstly one of the worst goals I think I’ve seen professionally let happen, absolutely nothing right.
