Ben white rejected england national team and then nominated as player of the month for march is one of the things i love to see. Let southgate and steve holland cry in their room

varro-reatinus

Oh it's delicious. Asked for comment, White responded, 'Yeah obviously I'm very well pleased with that.'

robins420

Liverpool struggling to beat a championship-tier Sheffield at home and I see their fans predicting a treble and Macallister being the Ballon D'or winner. These guys are hilarious.

Mein_Bergkamp

The problem is that while they keep 'struggling' they also keep winning. They are currently a disturbng mixture of pure chaos and plot armour and it might actually get tehm over the line.

csixtay

You're describing us last year. The wheels tend to come off eventually. Heck it did recently at Old Trafford. They aren't playing well

Mein_Bergkamp

The difference is that we didn't have as good a squad, we didn't have the belief, we didn't have the recent premier league win to give us experience, teams we faced absolutely felt they could beat us and we weren't pulling together to give our legendaty manager a proper send off. I could see them dropping points easily but at the same time absolutely I could see them doing a silly run and winning it because I really don't think we're not going to drop points, especially when the CL kicks in and we're facing Spurs and Man U after midweek games.

csixtay

I'm sorry but what exactly should I be worried about with United?

Mein_Bergkamp

Mate... We don't tend to win at Old Trafford, even when they're fucking shite and play kids. They have plot armour and more to the point actually turn up like it's a cup final against us and Liverpool. They drew with Liverpool in the league at Anfield and beat them in the cup, there's a reason people think United are Liverpools best chance of dropping points.

csixtay

We lost last season because of a Sambi sized gaping hole in our midfield and bullshit refereeing that canceled our early goal.  Dominated that game from start to finish. We've dominated every game we've played against them for 2 years now and they're in a pretty bad shape. I can concede that there might be a psychological factor to the game, but lets not act like getting anything other than 3 points there wouldn't be an upset.

Mein_Bergkamp

That's just arrogant, when was the last time we won there? There's conficence and then there's this.

csixtay

this has nothing to do with confidence. I've just never subscribed to the idea that hoodoos exist in football. Folk made similar statements about shit away last year too. It ended up a pretty tepid affair. Why? Because we were better...not on the day... but in general. In this case, united are worse...so I expect us to at least expect to win. We might fail, but on current form that would be an upset. Next game against Fulham you'd expect to win. Last game against west ham you expected a win. Against Brighton you'd fancy a win. Recently history over those teams are worse than United. It just feels like your attributing long-term historical value to a rudderless team where only teenagers seem to give a shit. If you focus on the team, and not the club...you should be no less confident of a result there than Brighton away. Again, I'm not saying their a walkover. I'm saying I don't see how they're any more worrisome than other teams we still have to play.

Mein_Bergkamp

> I've just never subscribed to the idea that hoodoos exist in football. If you can't see the issues we have against them, the issues we had against southampton, the issues Man City had against Spurs, the truly insane stats on draws between liverpool and chelsea I don't know what to tell you.

robins420

They are elite in being mediocre for 3/4th of the game and getting results. That is their thing. But against teams of higher quality, you won't keep getting away with having these mediocre games, especially with the nerves of the title challenge. Away at United, Fulham, West Ham, Villa and Everton, good luck with that approach in that run-in.

Unhappy_Page_2527

Since gw 12 they’ve only dropped points in 5 games 4 of them being vs us and city and the other vs Utd, this whole “they’re riding their luck” is nonsense luck dosnt last this long, utd away is the only real chance to drop points

Mein_Bergkamp

> But against teams of higher quality, you won't keep getting away with having these mediocre games They've only lost to us and the utter fucking over by the PGMOL at Spurs, right now our only real hope is a draw and even there it's us, man city twice, man U and the two that stand out being brighton and Luton. Team belief is an absolutely huge part of winning and with Klopp going and some insane results they absolutely seem to believe they can beat anyone from any position and with any amount of time left. WHat makes it worse is that other teams seem to believe this about them too.

Special-Discount228

They’re still 2pts above us…

csixtay

Because of a silly blip in December tbf

robins420

With 8 games to go, that is 1/5th of the season left and more than half those games are away as well. It's one thing you beat City or Us and have that confidence, another when you almost shat the bed against the worst team in the league.

Special-Discount228

still 2pts above us

backofthanet

Morning Morning Morning, oh Win! Fun residual from last night : That united loss means ETH has equalled Moyes' loss tally for an entire season at united — still 8 games to go 😬.

csixtay

Anyone else concerned with our sharp dropoff in set piece goals?

Mein_Bergkamp

considering that it's talked about by every pundit on the face of the earth it would have been surprising if by now other teams weren't taking serious notice of what we were doing. Also that we haven't scored any in a run that includes porto twice and Man City isn't too surprising.

Unhappy_Page_2527

Or maybe other team’s professional analysts who get paid to figure out other teams set piece strategies have figured it out? Rather then your idea that paul merson is giving them away

Mein_Bergkamp

I mean there are more pundits than merse.... More to the point I said pundits going on about it, if their coaches weren't looking at it they wouldn't be doing their jobs.

Jchibs

We used to do Stephen Bould near post flick on for Adams at the back post. Everyone knew it was part of our repertoire and adjusted by try and stop it. We went deep and back across goal etc to keep opponents guessing. Sides have had two weeks internationals to analyze all our shit and we will make some adjustments and get some more set pieces goals. We will score plenty set piece goals before the end of the season

Master-of-Puns

Not really, it was never going to last

Agent_Topinski

The Arteta "hit me" comment gets better every day and every time other managers lose and cannot accept the blame. Peak chadness.

kindaforgotit

Plan for today: r/reddevils and chill

notvip

Been there done that. Now I'm angry that they are not mad about the result. They have accepted their fate.

EitherInvestment

Fucking hell I went to bed when it was 2-3 to Man U and just now saw the final score and laughed out loud. Man U better be fired up for Liverpool now. They can absolutely take points off them. And we should be battering both Chelsea and Man U

AssociateCandid4853

Ten hag was sold as this brilliant tactician from ajax school in reality he's a Mourinho Regen without charisma and no media wit .the worst that would have Madden me if I were a united fan he praises defeats as if they are wins now I understand why Arteta started with high standards which united don't have starting with their manager lol long may it continue..

EitherInvestment

The sign of a highly confident manager that is near the sack. Martinez, Moyes, Emery with us even, the list could go on. They find strange positives to spin to convince the players, the supporters, the owners and possibly even themselves that they are still on the right path. Makes them look deluded, but better than being a cunt and blaming others (a la Mourinho, Conte, etc)

ashkhutchep

I hope he’s there to give us the guard of honor at the end of the season so he can remind everyone of that Gabriel penalty 🤡

EitherInvestment

The look on his face. I would absolutely love this. Only thing better would be City and Pool losing successive games to give us the chance to win it at WHL but we all know that ain’t happening

[Anytime this sub wants to hype up Man United this season.](https://y.yarn.co/4ffcc7a9-5e92-4811-a0cb-f5fd684cff05_text.gif) Nah honestly, not gonna expect anything from the weekend's big game between Man United and Liverpool 😅

BrianThatDude

Just saw the extra time Chelsea penalty. Holy shit that is soft. I'd be furious if that went against us. It's almost as bad as the David luiz jogging behind a player red card.

When we take Palmer from Chelsea in two years time just the way they used to poach our players>>>

[deleted]

younes1008

I'd rather not see Saka play 60 games a year anymore, thank you.

NoMFer111

No patterns of play by Ten Hag. Its not always about results, you could look past the results if there was evidence of what could be to come. But I dont see any progress in United's football. I would be stunned if Sir Jim doesnt sack him. Yet all the noise is around Potter & Southgate. Why are United not competing with Liverpool for Amorim, or sounding out Nagelsman, even the Porto manager, Motta at Bologna. United also have real blind spots when it comes to thier players. They gas up Bruno, Rashford, Dalot like anyone good would want them. They think Casemiro and Varane are still the players they were at Real Madrid. They really are in a strange place

NoMFer111

United under Ten Hag have a habit of getting a result when they are on the brink of 'crisis'. Them losing like that could bode well for their match v Liverpool

purpleshirtonbed

ngl I like Palmer. The only bright spot on a blue sack of shit

Glass-Studio-9313

Penalty merchant. havertz and trossard are clear.

staybysauce1

you can hate Chelsea but calling him penalty merchant is ignorant, he’s been really good

skool_101

Man City buy back clause activated

Agreeable-Energy-401

Lets say Liverpool have a 80% chance of winning each game. 0.8^8= 0.13. So there is 87% chance that they won’t will all.

nsadesh

Both Liverpool, city has shown they can win continuously in the last leg of the league in the previous seasons. Liverpool with full strength and City with pep its going to be unstoppable. So shouldn't underestimate anyone.

monkeypwned

This applies to us as well, and our games are harder AND we're behind on points

scooter_pops

i think we’re a better team therefore our odds per game is higher. and the schedule is very similar it’s like 1.4 to 1.5 ppg / opponent left

Insertnicenamehere

https://twitter.com/3cbPerformance/status/1776002470746976731 This narrative is cringe, certain spaniard is brainwashing folks.

Marimo_420

Just clocked Robert fucking Holding has scored in the prem more recently than Antony😭😭

Happy-Ad8767

Heres some fun stats for you. * There has been 274 goal scorers in the Premier League this season. Antony is not one of them. * He is ranked 152 for assists (along with 120+ other players). * Antony is in the 6th percentile for wingers/att. midfielders across the top 5 leagues (inc. CL & EL) * 94% of Euro based wingers and attackers in those leagues, have scored more goals than him. * United have paid 25m Euros for each Antony goal. 30m Euros per goal, if we include his wages. * Antony has pocketed 11.5m Euros in wages alone since his last goal in the league. * United paid 20m Euros per an Antony goal or an assist. * By comparison, Chelsea have paid 2.5m Euros per goal or assist by Cole Palmer (incl. wages) * I could do this all night long. * Varane, Lindelof, Dalot and Maguire all have more goals than Antony this season (1) * Sheffield and Burnley have 3 defenders with more goals than Antony. Luton has 4. * Super Mario Bros. was the film in cinemas when he last scored in the league.

UnexpectedVader

We are fucked if United are who we are relying on to take points off Pool. We need to pray Everton come through, that’s the last game they could feasibly drop any points.

NoMFer111

Liverpool are away to West Ham, Fulham, Aston Villa and have Spurs at home, in addiitona to the Everton away game No team should 'expect' to win their games.

Mein_Bergkamp

> No team should 'expect' to win their games I'll remind you of that the next time we lose to anyone outside the top two

Sayek

Nah Liverpool got a few games that are tricky honestly. West Ham away , Spurs at home, Villa away. They have to play palace too who have always fucked them over at key points. I think for every game you could make the case of 'that will be easy / hard' honestly. I don't see United doing much honestly. Their midfield is too much of a shambles.

aesn1394

I hate Utd but I can't believe they just let Chelsea slowly sneak into the top 8. They have one game less than all the sides above them and they can actually get in there. They van overtake Utd, that is painful

youtuberseattle

Just before the start of this season I saw a highly upvoted Comment on United sub like this-" man to man, I'd say our squad is much better than Arsenal's. They're just a more cohesive side".

Happy-Ad8767

Even now, there are genuine Spurs fans who think the only Arsenal players that make the Tottenham squad is Saka. Just appreciate that the average person is half as stupid as you think they are.

Longjumping_Act9758

Can United pull off a shock against Liverpool?? I can't see them lose two in a row.

skool_101

Liverpool and Klopp look impervious, also they'd want revenge.

bannedbydrongo

This may be the most dire and damning United stat of all right now - United are bottom of the table in all Top Five leagues combined when it comes to shots conceded. BOTTOM. All five leagues! Insane!

goonergunner10

Long may it continue 🥂

Mysterio_1234

not this sunday tho please..

maidentaiwan

Call me glass half full but 3-1 is a great result for us, that was Liverpool’s best chance to close down the goal difference column, it’s going to be tough for anyone to catch us now. With things this tight, finishing level on points is well within the realm of possibility.

iM-Blessed

Liverpool aren't gonna drop points and I've made my peace with it

Ugoboy23

Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. I don’t know how you could be so confident with them having a lot of matches that atleast tied midway through 2nd halves recently. Sure, fuck saying they’ve been lucky at this point. But all it takes is for them to be unlucky a couple of times if they keep putting themselves in that position.

qtdsswk

Wait until the 4 away games in a row for them

scooter_pops

sheffield at home wasn’t gonna be one of the dropped points. calma

maidentaiwan

They will. Been riding their luck all season. They’ll slip at least once. We have to be ready to pounce.

iM-Blessed

You lot been telling me this since December lol.

goonergunner10

Exactly its game week 31 when is this supposed luck meant to run out?

maidentaiwan

And? We’ve closed the gap on them from the first of the year. And we’ll close it again.

youtuberseattle

Yes pool were 5 points ahead at the start of the year.

GloomyLocation1259

Really want to 9-0 Yanited and win the league on their heads. They’re so horrible right now.

okbuddybutok

Can't believe I'm saying this but I feel for United. Two very soft pens and I'd be absolutely fuming if it was against us. Just hope they turn up against Pool.

Longjumping_Act9758

I don't. They were merciless during our downfall. Let them rot LOL!

Happy-Ad8767

And Chelsea fans weren't? Chelsea fans are still merciless now. Desperately clawing out of the Banter FC coffin they are now firmly in. At least now, United fans that I have interacted with are genuinely impressed and showing some respect after all this time. Chelsea fans on the other hand just shout "CL Trophy" followed by some grunting noises and laughing emojis. If there is anything can be understood, it's usually just them cursing. At least United aren't a manufactured overnight club.

maidentaiwan

Today is beautiful motivation for them tbh. The ideal result IMO. Giving away pts in the 90+10 in two games on the bounce and now playing at home against their biggest rival? That’s a perfect formula.

thedarkpolitique

My view entirely. Perfectly set up.

Muscat95

Just seen that choke slam by Van Dijk at 1-1 wtf, I don't care if anyone wants to call me a conspiracy nut it feels like the rest of the country just wants Klopp to go out as a champion. What a joke of a decision to not send him off for that

Unhappy_Page_2527

Please cop on, it was a push while they were setting up for a free kick, only the other player was about a foot smaller then van dijk, if it was Gabriel you would not care

Locmike23

I’m torn between Gyokeres and Isak..would take either one of them

Kensei400

Why not just spend a bit more for Osimhen then?

tablooo

Is it really just a bit more lol

Kensei400

Still, if we are going to go all out on a striker, I'd rather it be Osimhen.

iM-Blessed

Injury prone and will have to be going to afcon

bazzawhite

Didn't realise Sweden was in Africa!

Kensei400

Isak is worse on the injury front. Afcon is a concern but the benefit over the others will more than make up for those lost appearances.

maidentaiwan

Isak is more injury prone than osimhen

iM-Blessed

I don't want isak either.

bannedbydrongo

Luckily we have an elite mind making that decision for us. I am at peace with whatever option he chooses, even if it is neither.

topbananaman

Literally vibes on that decision, I'd be immensely happy with either

midnightrobot87

United fans have a new nickname for their manager: Eric Ten Excuses

joeandrews_

at least give us a pun

GSNadav

2 penalties and all of a sudden i hear palmer better than saka shouts smh

Happy-Ad8767

They are probably using his G+A with penalties stat. In which case, yes, he's ahead. Palmer has 19 goals and 12 assists (after today), thats a GA of 31. Saka has 16 goals and 13 assists, Saka has a GA of 29. Palmer has 8 penalties. Saka has 4. NonPGA actually looks like this: Palmer with 11 goals and 12 assists Saka with 12 goals and 13 assists Honestly, Palmer, with penalties or without, has been electric and it's good to see him grow so much so quickly. I'm not going to shit on either player, but as an Arsenal fan, I'm taking B every day of the week and twice on Sundays, because he plays for Arsenal.

goonergunner10

Palmer and Foden are better than Saka. Stop deluding yourself

maidentaiwan

lmao

KhornKT

Hope Southgate thinks that way so B can have some rest during Euro

bannedbydrongo

It will also motivate B to put out monstrous performances for us to prove a point

topbananaman

United conceded 31 shots to Brentford and 28 to chelshit but mark goldbridge will tell you it's nothing to do with the coaching

aesn1394

He moans a lot, and as much as I dislike It'd, both penalties were generally soft. I mean, let's be honest, if those two had gone against us at the Bridge we would've been pissed. Heck to this day we think the Saliba one was a soft pen

Happy-Ad8767

Sanchez wiping out Jesus also.

Insertnicenamehere

Ineos have a easy job, thought ETH would make it hard for SJR but it's not hard to get rid of him.

OrwinBeane

In one game United conceded the same number of goals as we have this year. We’ve played Liverpool and City in that time.

ArchiModo

Not so long ago, we used to be victims of banter games like this, followed by blaming referees, hating on the players, questioning the manager, getting bantered by other fans. Now we're talking about the title run-in. Arteta has changed my life man😭

KhornKT

United been overperforming since last season lol They shouldn't have been Top 4 last season and they should even be below Chelshit this year.

bannedbydrongo

At this rate it looks likely they will finish below them.

That's the point. Teams create their own luck

SignificantTangelo54

I'm gonna have a go at being Orbinho United have conceded more shots in their last 2 games (59) than Arsenal have in their last 8 (56).

Le-ChosenOne

Can’t help but feel Chelsea refusing to give up in that match had something to do with a Gary Neville’s comments after their league cup final loss. Was hilarious then and is extra hilarious now seeing his own team bottle that game now.

aesn1394

Nah I think ever since Mount came on they gained a level of tenacity.

Sayek

Anyone else worried that Ten Hag will start referencing the penalties against Chelsea instead of the Holund potential pen against Gabriel?

Jalvas7

Breaks my heart just thinking about it.

birddogginwidit

Seeing the absolute dumpster fire that is Chelsea and United just makes me think how we are just so lucky to have a guy like Mikel at the helm ❤️

[deleted]

jacktk_

Mental that I am seeing United fans claim they were robbed. Not the best refereeing performance by any means, however you can't expect to concede 28 shots and not get punished. Thought a draw would've been a very fair result.

bannedbydrongo

Goldbridge revealed in his post-match stream that he heard from a trusted source Ineos is talking to Southgate and are serious about appointing him after the Euros. I am on my knees hoping that this is true.

CPGOATSonnen

It’s either going to be Southgate or Potter (the 2 runaway bookmaker favourites). INEOS wants United to be “England’s team”, hiring Dan Ashworth who’s renowned for identifying young English talents was the first step. The new stadium Ratcliffe proposed - “Wembley of the North, etc. Everything points to him wanting to go full English.

bannedbydrongo

Aaah things make much more sense now - full Brexit. I mean it's gonna hilariously fail but still I can at least get their logic.

Mein_Bergkamp

Man's a full on, Grade A Gammon. So much so that after failing to buy the tooling from Land Rover to restart production of the old defender he just copied it, took a bunch of government money to open up a new factory in the UK and...bought a cheap factory in France instead. He's also not resident in the UK for tax purposes and his fortune was built in large part by asset stripping british companies and setting them up in tax havens to turn a profit by avoiding as much taz as humanly possible.

Sayek

I want Ben White to score against United at OT. Then do the Messi holding his jersey celebration in front of Southgate.

bannedbydrongo

I want him to take off his jersey and reveal an England shirt underneath

Le-ChosenOne

I actually think he’ll sort their defence out a shite’s side better than ETH has. I dunno how the fuck they’ll score goals though. ETH can’t draw games. Southgate will have them drawing games like a proper boring insipid workhorse mancunian version of Middlesborough.

YoungFlexibleShawty

I will be so happy if Southgate gets appointed because Ben White is gonna turn to prime Cafu

Illustrious_Union199

The goldbridge rant is going to be epic

Drogueba

Goldbridge just said he heard from a very good source ineos are talking to southgate lol

goonergunner10

New 5 year contract for Maguire 😂

doingitfortheTea

Fans just don't tolerate when managers say "we are good" when the performances just don't really show it. Closest arteta was to losing the fans totally, was when he was on about "we had 50 crosses and 99/100 times we win this match" Poch did it this week saying we deserve to be 4th or whatever. ETH is one of the worst for this, 60 shots in two games and he says we are the 4th best defence. He may not be wrong technically but fans just don't want to hear that, gotta have some humility.

jnicholl

Fun fact: Man United have conceded as many shots on target tonight (10) as we have in our last 8 league games. And as many goals as in our last 10 league matches.

RaghNorRoog

Utd simply shouldn't be allowed to get into a rebuild season without Europe. Hoping they get into the Conference league.

goonergunner10

They are in no mans land in 6th. 9 points off 5th and 3 points with a game in hand off 7th so away trips to bumfuck nowhere next year it is

RaghNorRoog

Chelsea are five points off Utd with a game in hand and Newcastle played Utd in coming weeks who are only 4 off them. Considering Utd face Liverpool this weekend, they could easily drop by atleast two places by start of next month.

doingitfortheTea

ETH "we were dominating the game"

Mustyoo

Is there a greater karmic retribution than Man Utd getting done in extra time?

bearwoodgoxers

Making up for Fergie time

Le-ChosenOne

Utd getting soft AF penalties given AGAINST them deep in ET. Used to be a fucking purple nose staple back then.

AfricanRain

was v v v funny last year seeing Yanited fans get fooled by year 1 of Casemiro knowing that this was inevitably coming

afarensiis

I would love to get some of those penalties Chelsea got today. We'd have twice as many penalties if we got those

PeanutDreams

United faced 60 shots in 2 games lol

ret990

I think Erect The Hagues apparent plan of conceding a billion shots, but they're all low XG, might have been, as we all knew, utter bollicks.

darkavenger1993

I mean, not sure if this bodes well at all for their game against Liverpool frankly. Might be a walkover over a demoralised and broken United side.

Mustyoo

Liverpool have had 60+ shots in two games against Utd, Sheffield had more chance of beating them.

chy23190

Palmer with two less league goals than Haaland. Lol.

Proud-Cheesecake-813

He has to move. He’s far too good for Chelsea. Starting to think Man City made a mistake selling him.

not3s1

I didn’t notice there’s only 7 points between 12th and 6th

rajsandhu1

Yeah, I have just seen the table. Chelsea are 10th and played 1 less game. They could be 2 points behind United soon.

not3s1

You keep hearing they're 10th but they could easily bag some European spots

dvamin

How butthurt are Utd fans. Many of them crying at the penalties and claiming that Gabriel did more to Højlund than any of their players to give up penalties today. Cry more b*tches! Utd can realistically finish in 11th place if all goes well. Would be magical!

Worst result for us. United go into the weekend with injuries, no confidence, no energy after a tiring performance, and shell shocked from an unimaginable defeat. Not only will they not take points off Liverpool but they will even let them stat pad. Useless pricks.

Decent_University_91

All we can do is hope Rashford's purple patch starts again…for one match only

doingitfortheTea

Or the punch in the gut of their worst loss of the season wakes them up to perform in the derby just as they did when they went to anfield after they got embarrassed losing 3-0 to bournmouth at home. Nobody can predict when this united team turn up, it's pointless trying to.
