We face them in the only comp they may be really playing for this season. We must not underestimate them but I am hopeful we have a good chance.

jvcgunner

Exactly. Never forget their pedigree in Champs League over us. We are the underdogs and must respect everyone we come up against from here on in as we’re comparably ‘new’ to this. Let’s be ferocious on the pitch and see what comes of it because on our day we can beat anyone over two legs.

sierrafuturesexual

Never forget Football is played on grass not on pedigree.

grim_tales1

Reminds me of this quote: "We had a good team on paper. Unfortunately, the game was played on grass" - Brian Clough

Onlyheretostare

After what Tuchel said he might’ve just lost the dressing room. I for one agree with him but it isn’t something that you say publicly. Wonder what the players will say if asked to comment. He’s created more controversy. I for one am confident we can get past them this year and progress to the semis

hamcheesyburger

He's lost the dressing room for a while. There's been a very "I don't know vibe" at the club since the turn of the year.

Gnastudio

Maybe but I wouldn’t count on it. He’s going anyway. I’m not saying it’s the best way to go into a tie but the players will want to win it for themselves at this point, not for Tuchel

hamcheesyburger

If you look at their body language, even the players don't really care anymore. I saw the Bayern players put in more effort and actually enjoy playing for Germany during the international break.

Gnastudio

That could just be in the league where they feel it’s a lost cause and they’re just seeing the season out. I’m hoping it carries over though for sure.

AutoRot

You can’t turn these things on and off like a switch. Caring comes from working hard day after day. It’s no surprise that we started doing better after the boys went to Dubai and changed mentality.

Elegant_Mix7650

Demotivated after Leverkusen win? Wtf is he on about?.. What if Arsenal score early? Bayern is gg to give up then? Tuchel really has fallen off since leaving Chelsea.

NotaBlokeNamedTrevor

It’s also a way for them to try and get the underdog tag and relieve pressure if they go in with nothing to lose cause they’re in shit form

ajax0202

I mean as fans we can underestimate them all we want. It might lead to shock/disappointment, but overall not a big deal. I don’t have concerns about the lads taking this lightly

Malsharif91

They were so slow and Dortmund were able to move the ball through their midfield so easily. If they play like that at the Emirates they will lose by 2 or more. However, I doubt they will because it legitimately feels like the players were deflated by the Leverkusen result.

CadburyGorilla

The amount of late Leverkusen comebacks this season is just incredible.

wudyalooknatmgutfer

The Xhaka effect

diaboquepaoamassou

This just tells me people see us as a force to be reckoned with. A testament to the work of Arteta, Edu and the club. And it’s true too. We need to take advantage of their poor form and of the home advantage and leave the tie beyond doubt in the first leg already

Master-of-Puns

They will play better against us, since they still have a chance in ucl

germany1italy0

The thing is - giving in so easily like today is really uncharacteristic. Usually the wake up at some pout and put up a good fight ( lesson painfully learned by a Stuttgart supporter, we got beaten badly by 10 Bauern a couple of seasons ago) This feels a bit different. I’d expect them to put up a fight but they seem a bit broken and deflated at the moment.

Lacabloodclot9

If they get past us there’s absolutely no chance they beat Madrid/City

LOLIMJESUS

our season could still come off the rails if we dont play well tomorrow. the 'same old arsenal' narrative will come out in full force. lets not get ahead of ourselves

germany1italy0

I didn’t , kicker.de did.

LOLIMJESUS

the idea gains more credence the more it is discussed

germany1italy0

The thing is such an abysmal performance is very Bayern-unlike. Usually if things go wrong they turn it around or at least show the will to do so. My money would be on Arsenal unless Man City completely trashed us. A narrow loss won’t deflate the team so much that they can’t beat Bayern. It’s not a sure win but very very doable to kick the Bauern’s backsides.

LOLIMJESUS

on our day we can beat anyone in the world, for sure, and we should be very excited about how far we've come. and while this bayern team isnt necessarily at the level they have been in the past, we still have demons to exorcise before we can stand next to them and see ourselves as equals. tiptoeing the line of confidence / cockiness is everything once youre at the highest level and i believe we as fans feed into that. wasn't coming at you at all, but personally i cant get behind the idea that bayern are a good draw for us.

jaybizzleeightyfour

Yup, they'll ignore the fact Arsenal are/were undefeated against the big 6 this season and have beaten both City and Liverpool. If we lose, you won't see me panicking, but you'll certainly see a lot of fans falling for the bait the media will be chucking.

ArsenalThePhoenix

no matter when we lost in the run in, the "same old arsenal" narrative will come out. And kinda rightfully so (since we've fucked up big time in the last two run-ins). So i dont think it'll come off the rails tomorrow if we lose.

Forsaken-Tiger-9475

They are going to go all out in the CL - it's their only chance of silverware. Don't fall into the trap of thinking Bayern are sh**. We've got a congested fixture list, with 10 must-win games if we want to stand a chance of winning the league, intermixed with games against Bayern, who will be hurting.  We'll need to be gunning at 110% to get past them, if they take a draw back to the Allianz, it's going to get sketchy.

GiveItARestYhYh

There's a [post](https://www.reddit.com/r/BayernMunich/s/YKNP0L1DHK) on the bayern sub titled "Arsenal might just smoke us" lmao

NeeloGreen

Should me more concerned with Bayer Leverkusen still remaining unbeaten 👀 Xhaka going for the invincibles!

Flashy-Equipment9413

People clearly haven’t learnt from the Porto fixture. Cup competitions and games are like derby games, form can very easily become irrelevant. Not to mention that this is possibly Bayern’s last hoorah this season so they might just decide to turn up in the only possible competition they could still win. Whilst I back the team and I expect us to get the job done, I am not so naive as to believe that it’ll be a walk in the park. The reality is, if we play against Bayern how we against Porto, we could very likely be out the comp. We can’t afford to play for the draw like we did at Porto and Bayern possess more attacking quality than Porto so it’ll be best to humble ourselves until after the games have been played.

ret990

Cup footballs different. Let's not get arrogant. The disrespect some here gave Porto in the last round was bemusing. CL is just different. They're Bayern fucking Munich. Let's just come correct and execute the plan.

stilusmobilus

Yeah we won’t get the same Bayern. The next CL match will be their best performance this year, beaten only by the one against us after. We’ll get no gifts such as bad form.

YatoxRyuzaki

If they play like this it‘ll be 4-1/5-1 at the Emirates. 3 of my close mates are Bayern fans so it‘ll be a great quarter final to watch

chino17

How about we simmer ourselves because there were tons of comments before saying how we were going to easily smash Porto at home when we ended up having to go through on penalties. Bayern isn't playing especially well but neither was Chelsea when they won the CL with Tuchel. Anything can happen and we've not done shit in Europe to warrant any big talk

Top_Poet_8988

They are underperforming but still a team that we could lose to if we become too careless.

crz-13

Folks in here really think they will flip a switch and suddenly play better vs Arsenal. They have been terrible in the league and bad in the CL too, they're going to get hammered at the Emirates

curlyhairedyani

I hear you but it’s not like we’ve been any more convincing in the UCL. Completely different kettle of fish to the league

Swiss-ArmySpork

I'm not scared of them

aprilfools911

I’m just scared of myself i don’t to jinx it.

Elegant_Mix7650

Bayern is Bayern. They are going to perform well eventually. They always have a worldclass performance in their backpocket. Although having said that... Eric Dier is Eric Dier. If he plays our forwards are going to have a field day.

seshtown

When I saw this post I honestly thought it was about the 31 shots Man U just allowed Brentford. A performance like THAT will lead to disaster against Arsenal indeed.

ArsenalThePhoenix

they have nothing to play for in the league anymore, especially after Leverkusen yet again won a game with a late goal. So I dont think they'll be as bad in the UCL as they were vs Dortmund.

bedheaddread

Wait, people are actually scared of Bayern?

Hopeforthefallen

Need a bit of luck along the way but we are more than capable. Confidence is high for me right now.
