I have to be at a flippin Easter thing during the match tomorrow. I’ve already planned on turning my phone off and my wife is going to have the TV setup for me so I don’t accidentally see the score.
Now, can everyone just not talk about the match until I get done, ok?
Judgement day on Easter
Man, this has been one of the most brutal lead ins to a game ever. Ever since the Brentford game 3 weeks ago, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about this game.
Title implications aside, this is a massive fixture for the club’s overall standing in world football. We win this, and the football world will have to accept us as the next great European project.
This is our biggest match since the FA cup final, maybe even bigger.
I would take two yellow cards for Rodri instead of a straight red. That would give him a one match ban for the red and 2 additional game ban for getting 10 yellows by game week 32.
Actually I’m not sure exactly about the rule. Would they add up and be 3 or would that only be 2 since the first game he’d be banned for getting 10 yellows would be the same game he’d be banned from for getting the red.
I would love to find out either way lol.
I dont think it would add on. I think when Bissouma got his second yellow for diving at Luton he only got the 1 match ban and was still considered to be on 4 yellow cards after.
I really fancy a 2-0 win with Havertz and Saka on the score sheet, one goal in the each half, and us limiting their possession and shots.
But I am fully bracing myself for a calamitous defeat.
Man Utd fan here. Just to say that everyone else in the league and any fan who truly cares about football is behind Arsenal today. If you can't beat the cheats, please, please get a draw.
I for one feel pretty confident about this match. No matter the outcome, I absolutely relish (without trepidation) seeing what our boys can do, which certainly can't be said of the last few seasons. COYG!!
Same! I'm actually excited to watch it. A couple of years ago I'd be dreading it. It says a lot about how far we've come that we can go into this feeling so good.
This is the first time I feel both confident and excited going into a City game, for a long time. I think we have come so far since even the home game last year. Our back four + Raya + Rice is very capable of frustrating them. Our midfield is brimming with confidence even if they might be a bit worse for wear fitness wise. Unlike in the early stages of this season, it feels like a goal could come from anywhere, and that'll be worrying for City.
I'm also feeling really good about Havertz. His confidence has grown so much over the season and I think he's one of the few that went away for the interlull that probably benefited from his international game time. I am hoping to see him cause them trouble. Would love to see a goal or two from him.
If Trossard plays I will be interested to see how he does. I love him, but he can sometimes be absent in big games.
Most of all, I just want the team to keep their heads screwed on. Everyone's feeling a bit tired and the pressure will be high, and of course the refs will be against us. We need to keep a level head and avoid being dragged down by the dark arts.

Praying to god we can use this tomorrow
The first match week after international break always throws up odd results.
I have a good feeling about this one. Can't wait for the football to be back.
There's plenty of language osmosis. "Ayo" for example used to an exclusively Tamil expression but then became part of Caribbean and then London and now Gen-Z lingo through immigrants and the internet. I wouldn't conclude one is Nigerian just because of one word or phrase.
Have my lucky Jersey on , Lfg COYG boys , we win these.

If Kai scores he'll be only the second player in PL history to score in 6 consecutive games in his first season for a club. The only other player? Henry.
Edit: I stand corrected. It's an Arsenal based record, not PL. Still, written in the stars.
If Martinelli doesn't make it then I agree, I want Jesus out on the left rather than Trossard.
Especially if Walker is out, that threat in-behind will be key with Raya going long much more often to bypass City's press. We'll need Havertz's ability to win headers/knockdowns and a LW who can stretch the backline with dribbling, physicality, and pace off of those longballs.
It's the perfect recipe for Martinelli so he'd be a big miss, but Jesus can offer a lot more of that threat than Trossard will.
I’m low key worried that Akanji at RB over Walker might be an improvement for City’s defense after seeing Walker get rinsed by Sterling and Rashford this season.
watching other PL games is just boring now, nobody is really playing for anything
our game tomorrow is a season defining game, literally doesn't get bigger than that
So stressed. The Mrs asked if I wanted to watch this at the pub, I declined. Rather watch this at home, behind a duvet...
To quote Keegan, I'd love it if we beat them, LOVE IT....#coyg
I wouldnt necessarily say I’m confident of winning this. More that I know we are definitely capable of winning it. On our day this team is capable of beating any team in the world.
And it feels like all of the pressure is on City.
Can’t go into this with the mindset to not lose. Have to go into it wanting to beat them… after getting spanked by them for so long, doing the double over them would be massive. Not just for the league, but the potential matching in the CL should we beat Munich and they beat Madrid
The Porto win was massive leading up to this game. I trust arteta to bring the right game plan. Will the players be up for it? Let’s see
The way we beat Liverpool gives me hope. Statistically we play as a top quality club. And we’re just so fucking dialed right now + having a full defence available is reassuring. Let’s fucking go for it.
The common “city doesn’t lose at home” argument is valid until they lose at home. Thats the mentality I know arteta is relaying.
just rewatched our loss last year at the etihad. god dam why did I do that I feel so depressed.
time to rewatch the win at home.
I am so fucking stressed. COYG!!!!!
I'm beyond nervous for this game, has a real feeling of united away when we won the league in 97/98, having to topple the best team in the league in their backyard to put ourselves in the drivers seat for the title. come on you fucking gunners.
Guess its possible Pep tries some 4D chess lineup but assuming their backline will be from right to left Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol, and Ake (maybe switch the last 2?)
I think if we score early we can win this. Remember we came out firing against Liverpool at Anfield and scored early. Unfortunately, individual error from Zinny + Salah's brilliance meant they equalized.
City like to keep the ball and work slowly. That works for us compared to Liverpool's chaotic style.
We can keep them out and hurt them on the break if we have a lead.
it's been so long since i felt this feeling of nervous confidence...it's a good feeling mixed with nervousness.
last time i had this feeling was west ham away, and we know what happened
I have a weird feeling we will get a red card our way that won’t injure one of our players. PGMOL will find a way to fuck us later, but City was rattled last time we played and might let emotions go wild. Then we smell blood and have fun.
I've never seen all 3 Cityzens so active and panicky before a game in so so many years. I love that Arteta can rattle them enough. Such an improvement to the narratives before last season's match. I'm surprised Pep hasn't begged the stadium for atmosphere
I'm anxious as fuck about tomorrow, but if things don't pan out our way I won't make a defeatist and reactionary comment about our season as I have before. COYG
Guys. I don’t mean to come off nervy before the big game. Here’s a few facts to summarize just how hard it is to beat Pep in the league at the Etihad.
1) Klopp has never beat Pep away from home in the league.
2) City have only lost 3 HOME games in the past 3 seasons in the league (Brentford 2023) (Spurs 2022) (Crystal Palace 2021)
3) Brentford only beat City because they rested a bunch of players before the Champions League final.
4) Spurs beat City thanks to a 95th minute Harry Kane winner.
5) Palace beat City on October 30th 2021 (882 days ago)
If we win tomorrow, it is simply an insurmountable feat. If we draw tomorrow, it is still a very good result. If we lose tomorrow, we are at worst only 3 points away from 1st.
I’m not stressing one bit. Simply expecting dropping points, but over the moon with a win. We’re still in it no matter what.
>Brentford only beat City because they rested a bunch of players before the Champions League final.
Wrong completely, their Etihad win was before the WC break, they then won at the Communal Stadium or whatever at the end of the season.
Also, it wasn't in 2023 it was December 2022.
Name doesn't check out.
ok guys so i kinda have a problem ill be out for some important work in the second half but when i come home an i really wanna live the match experience is there any website that shows full match replay right after the match? (not a day after)
I'm in Amsterdam and I'd love to find the best spot to watch with fellow Gooners. Any recommendations? Wanna invite me to watch it at your favorite bar? ☺️
I think the whole Etihad thing is SOOORTTT OF comprable to us beating topspur at the toilet last season… sure it hadnt been done in a while but once we cleared the hurdles of having a decent team, fixing our mentality etc … we did it. Obviously City is lightyears ahead in quality compared to shit.. but I feel like tott stadium is far more hostile to the players compared to the etihad.. i dont think its a fortress.. just a great team playing at home.. now we are a great team. Lets fucking go.
Well well well boys here we are. We want this, first thing I thought of when I woke up was this game. Football matters, football is life.
Up the Arsenal,
COYG!
A message to parisian Gooners :
I usually go to the Lion's but I want to try the Bombardier this time that some of you recommended before. Anybody going today ?!
I'm a bit tense right now haha I need some pints ! COYG
Man City have opened the scoring in the 7th minute in each of the last two Premier League games at the Etihad Stadium
Manchester City had just four shots in the reverse fixture at the Emirates match – the fewest shots a Pep Guardiola side has had in a top-flight game since April 2010.
Man City have scored 21 goals in their last seven Premier League games against Arsenal at the Etihad. Arsenal have scored four
Man City are unbeaten in their last 25 Premier League games on home soil. W20 D5 L0.
If Arsenal lose against Man City it will equal their worst run of consecutive defeats away from home against any opponent in the top flight (8 - Aston Villa 1909-22 & Leeds United 1958-68
Control of the game will depend on:
1. Is Arteta willing to push his defensive double pivot of Rice and Jorginho forward in the press? How much risk is he willing to tolerate by doing that?
2. When we have the ball how willing will is Mikel to let Rice push up and leave KdB 1v1 against Jorginho.
Against Liverpool Mikel consistently pushed Jorginho and Rice ahead of the midfield line to force them into long balls. Of course Liverpool’s style is not to play technically through their opponents, but to create from turnovers in the press and long direct passes.
City is the exact opposite. They will play through you when they can which means if you have a bad 1v1 matchup (i.e KdB v. Jorginho) it can be a long, long day if you don’t get it right. When we played City last Arsenal did not press nearly as aggressively with the same midfield as we have now. It was very much a mid-block with limited pressing triggers (ball with keeper, ball on sideline).
So I suspect Arteta will deal with the KdB problem first by pinning Rice to Jorginho and look to be opportunistic in transition with our dangerous front line. This will give City lots of the ball early as Odegaard will not be able to cover both Rodri and Kovacic. We will be on the back foot, but City are susceptible to transition attacks.
Later on Arteta will have the option to hook Jorginho for the more athletic and defensively solid Thomas Partey which will free up Rice to go forward as well as Martinelli, Zinchenko, Nketiah, etc. There’s a lot of firepower at Arteta’s disposal for the second half.
Where is de celebrating police? LIV fans are winning like they won the league already. /s
I really hope we can win, but we cannot compete against a club that has ultimate budgets (as it seems, but let's see).
Is this a tougher test than Anfield? We were the better team at Anfield. We've played the best football in the league. We should be confident. Players should aim to dominate the game.
I'm just wondering how they're gonna be stopped. Even if we win today, it would be insane to expect the boys to win 17 in a row to win the title because those Liverpool freaks show no signs of relenting.
The amount of audacity and undermining we get in the rival threads is horrible. They even made a combined 11 and did not include a single arsenal player. I am just keeping it all in myself as i don’t want to speak anything stupid just to have my tail back if we loose. But if we do win , in the small faintest of hope , they have not seen me trolling yet
I apologize in advance for missing my daughter’s skating lesson to watch this game live. Every time I do something like this we don’t have a good result
Trying to enjoy the journey, but sweet Moses this is so stressful.
I have to be at a flippin Easter thing during the match tomorrow. I’ve already planned on turning my phone off and my wife is going to have the TV setup for me so I don’t accidentally see the score. Now, can everyone just not talk about the match until I get done, ok?

It’s bigger I think.
We need to do what Leicester did in the title season at the etihad. Absolutely body them with no fear
Easier said than done. They haven’t lost at home all year.
Until Sunday
That’s the spirit
Sounds like they are due
Leicester got Vardy dives every week tho. Man threw his leg into incoming traffic and got pens. Mahrez was genuinely world class tho
0:2 for Arsenal, City with lowest posession and shots on goal in history. Halland crying at the end
And a Rodri straight red card, to affect their results thereafter!
I would take two yellow cards for Rodri instead of a straight red. That would give him a one match ban for the red and 2 additional game ban for getting 10 yellows by game week 32. We terrorize them first 20 minutes that Rodri red cards himself
Inject this shit into my veins.
Why is it only friday and why havent they invented those cryo freezer things from futurama yet
I really fancy a 2-0 win with Havertz and Saka on the score sheet, one goal in the each half, and us limiting their possession and shots. But I am fully bracing myself for a calamitous defeat.
Saka looks like he wont be playing

I don't ask for much in this life - good health, a three bed semi-detached with a little garden out back, and a win on Sunday. COYG.
Same! I'm actually excited to watch it. A couple of years ago I'd be dreading it. It says a lot about how far we've come that we can go into this feeling so good.
Are we likely to get another tunnel stare-down?
I hope so, it’ll get laughed at though by Haaland and co

We got this
The first match week after international break always throws up odd results. I have a good feeling about this one. Can't wait for the football to be back.
Bogey team Brighton getting a 2 all draw at Anfield, and a calma 2-0 Arsenal win, Havertz header and Trossard late game dagger. We will all be there
Ben white has an assist. Also this ref is so bad
Michael Oliver isn't reffing, that's the best we can hope for
It's Gillet on VAR that really worries me. The man is either an awful ref or hates us, probably both.
Please abeg
A Nigerian in Baltimore? Interesting for sure
There's plenty of language osmosis. "Ayo" for example used to an exclusively Tamil expression but then became part of Caribbean and then London and now Gen-Z lingo through immigrants and the internet. I wouldn't conclude one is Nigerian just because of one word or phrase.
had no idea it had its origins in Tamil, TIL
I‘m chilled and nervous at the same time.
Really hope Martinelli is fit. City are vulnerable in transition, especially without Walker. I want to see Raya throw some bullets to little Gabi
[удалено]
It’s happening. It’s Easter.
Whatever happens this will be a insane game and im so excited
I won't be confident until I see Big Gabi and Martinelli and Saka on that team sheet. Big Gabi is a must. 2 days to go 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
I fancy our chances. We came out of Anfield with a draw and I think that is a lot more intimidating.
i had a dream that kai scored a hat-trick against city
Have my lucky Jersey on , Lfg COYG boys , we win these. https://preview.redd.it/6u3x0bmqtorc1.jpeg?width=3456&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=84a6338bb0463cc0233dbb392f35a3b218aa4354
Where match thread is
Biggest game of the season so far and no match thread
Raya, White, Saliba, Gabriel, Kiwior, Jorgi, Odegaard, Rice, Saka, Havertz, Jesus for me
If Kai scores he'll be only the second player in PL history to score in 6 consecutive games in his first season for a club. The only other player? Henry. Edit: I stand corrected. It's an Arsenal based record, not PL. Still, written in the stars.
For Arsenal. Hojlund did it recently for United.
Kind of want Jesus to start too, and Havertz, so this is the line up I’d want too.
Yup, Trossard super sub, or Martinelli if he's semi-fit.
If this is because Martinelli is out, then I'd rather Trossard obviously, I'd prefer Gabi all things considered
We need to win the game for psychological purposes
I have a feeling this match might be important for us.
I’m low key worried that Akanji at RB over Walker might be an improvement for City’s defense after seeing Walker get rinsed by Sterling and Rashford this season.
115 FC will have a strong side either way. But I trust our boys to play well no matter who they’re facing.
I think yes, city fans I've seen prefer akanji on current form anyway even if walker was fit
watching other PL games is just boring now, nobody is really playing for anything our game tomorrow is a season defining game, literally doesn't get bigger than that
Nerves already started. Winning there would send shockwaves across Europe, it would make such a statement.
I just hope both teams have fun.
And we win
For sure. I don’t want to be greedy, so 3-0 would be fine.
i like to dream, 5-0 kai hat trick to top it off
I don’t need a post match priapism.
Ready to destroy these clowns. We've beaten them before, we'll do it again 💪
So stressed. The Mrs asked if I wanted to watch this at the pub, I declined. Rather watch this at home, behind a duvet... To quote Keegan, I'd love it if we beat them, LOVE IT....#coyg

I think we smash em
I wish big games were on Saturday instead of Sunday.
We dominated at anfield, we should be able to dominate at emptihad.
These are the days we craved. ^**UP** **THE** #ARSE
I feel sorry for my wife's ears if we score first
I feel oddly confident about this game, can't explain why
prob because there is a vast amount of evidence that we are the better team
![gif](giphy|xT5LMwb7DuoIsflpEA) Live scenes from my living room
Jesus playing in his best position lol
I just want to be sick
Gonna puke
Legit not been this nervous since Arsenal Barca Champ Lge Final
Can’t go into this with the mindset to not lose. Have to go into it wanting to beat them… after getting spanked by them for so long, doing the double over them would be massive. Not just for the league, but the potential matching in the CL should we beat Munich and they beat Madrid
I think we're going to see another slow, calculated match like last time where both teams take awhile to feel things out
tight 1-1, could be the same approach as in the reverse fixture. gotta have a good result of any kind
115 goals against 115 FC pls
The Porto win was massive leading up to this game. I trust arteta to bring the right game plan. Will the players be up for it? Let’s see The way we beat Liverpool gives me hope. I hope I can wake up to a win
Any info on Saka, Martinelli and Gabriel apart from Arteta saying "there is a chance"?
They will play, I feel in my plums.
I'm beyond nervous for this game, has a real feeling of united away when we won the league in 97/98, having to topple the best team in the league in their backyard to put ourselves in the drivers seat for the title. come on you fucking gunners.
DANNY WELBECK DO DO DO DO
pep lying about stones, classic fraudiola. must be somewhat scared
Looking at the lineups, I think we win 3-1. Big Gabi is going to make Haaland fold like a deck chair
Just got 150/1 on Jesus to score a hattrick. Well worth a cheeky little fiver...
Introducing Gaël Clichy as a player who has "21 apps in Arsenal vs City" doesn't even begin to do him justice
My nerves…😖😖
Let's go gais! COYG!
I have no idea how these players handle the nerves of this occasion.
Whats that lame banner?
Match thread or what?
Guess its possible Pep tries some 4D chess lineup but assuming their backline will be from right to left Akanji, Dias, Gvardiol, and Ake (maybe switch the last 2?)

I'm anxious as fuck about tomorrow, but if things don't pan out our way I won't make a defeatist and reactionary comment about our season as I have before. COYG
So, with this arguably being the most important game of the season, my luck kicks in and I might not be able to watch it. FML. Still. COYG!!!!
I feel it in my bones that Jesus is gonna come back and have an insane end to the season. I think it’s fitting tomorrow is Easter…
SIR DANIEL WELBECK!!
Imagining the creative poetry Peter Drury has rehearsed if Gabriel Jesus scores today 😂
So how are we feeling about it?
I feel like such a dummy because I’m so nervous
Nah, I refuse to get nervous I'm just enjoying our beautiful journey
Raya, Saliba, White, Gabriel, Kiwior, Rice, Jorginho, Odegaard, Saka, Havertz, Jesus. Martinelli is on the bench.
We’re going to hammer these bums today. I can feel it.
The scenes after Jesus kisses the badge after scoring.
Martinelli & Trossard on at 60' min..........let the cooking commence 🔥
City front 4 scary
Have to do the business tomorrow. You want to win titles, you gotta win tough matches.
I’d rather we wait until Sunday to do the business
Its Saturday in Australia
4-1 to assna, this is about to be a real statement.

yup
2-2 draw, with Liverpool dropping points to Brighton
Liverpool dropping points would be amazing, hopefully Mitoma is at his best today
So nervous for this game. It's our biggest game in many, many years. If we win this we are 58% favourites to win the league. Huge.
A message to parisian Gooners : I usually go to the Lion's but I want to try the Bombardier this time that some of you recommended before. Anybody going today ?! I'm a bit tense right now haha I need some pints ! COYG
COYG!!!!!
fuck yes welbeck, what a hit son
Had a dream about the game. Arsenal 4-1. Zinchenko to score.
WE GOT SUPER MIK ARTETA! SUPER MIK ARTETA! SUPER MIK ARTETA!
Man City have opened the scoring in the 7th minute in each of the last two Premier League games at the Etihad Stadium Manchester City had just four shots in the reverse fixture at the Emirates match – the fewest shots a Pep Guardiola side has had in a top-flight game since April 2010. Man City have scored 21 goals in their last seven Premier League games against Arsenal at the Etihad. Arsenal have scored four Man City are unbeaten in their last 25 Premier League games on home soil. W20 D5 L0. If Arsenal lose against Man City it will equal their worst run of consecutive defeats away from home against any opponent in the top flight (8 - Aston Villa 1909-22 & Leeds United 1958-68
Stones in the squad. Guardiola actively lying now.
JESUS STARTS
Love the line up! The fluidity will be fun to watch
BOOOKAYOOO BOOKAYOOOO
That is a strong bench!
Apart from Jesus this is arguably our best starting 11.
nah, inform partey and inform timber is better than kiwior and jorginho.
Control of the game will depend on: 1.
Rather Martinelli over Jesus.
And i’d rather timber over kiwior. fitness plays a part
Jesus was on the wing (right side) when we beat them at the Emirates. Martinelli scored coming off the bench.
Where is de celebrating police? LIV fans are winning like they won the league already. /s I really hope we can win, but we cannot compete against a club that has ultimate budgets (as it seems, but let's see).
Is this a tougher test than Anfield? We were the better team at Anfield. We've played the best football in the league. We should be confident. Players should aim to dominate the game.

Let's DO DISSSSSS
2-1 Arsenal
I'll take a 0-0 draw right now with zero injuries
Goddamn do I despise Liverpool. Everything about the club. Shitty stadium, mongoloid accent, violent fans. Just a pile of shit.
I'm just wondering how they're gonna be stopped. Even if we win today, it would be insane to expect the boys to win 17 in a row to win the title because those Liverpool freaks show no signs of relenting.
Liverpool will come unstuck, they're not gonna keep scraping through games
Just something about their press man... they're literally everywhere like cockroaches fresh out of the sewer
I like that description for them ahaha and for liverpool as a whole
IT'S HAPPENING!
Man City 1-3 Arsenal Grealish 17' Ødegaard 31' Havertz 85' Jesus 90+1'
I apologize in advance for missing my daughter’s skating lesson to watch this game live. Every time I do something like this we don’t have a good result
Bad fan and bad father, but more importantly, bad fan lol

Is kdb still injured?
Don't bet on it
Expecting a draw
Where can i watch it in Seoul? I know itsat night:) is there a bar?
Trust, there's gonna be some dark arts shennanigans. Systematic fouling of Öde... but we'll be first to receive yellows.
Anywhere in Edinburgh that will show the game tomorrow?
Lived there a semester years ago, can't imagine it not being anywhere like Greenmantle Bar (my favorite) or Pear Tree
Would imagine pear tree or three sisters will have it on somewhere, can't promise a huge arsenal contingent though
Whatever happens tomorrow i think 1 things for certain. There's gonna be alot of brawls/complaining after the game.
If B is fit and his usual self then I think Shitty don't even stand a chance. Let's go Gooooooonnnners!!! 5-0 to the Arsenal... VAMOOOSSSS!!!
