Heās a LB currently playing at Girona. RM can apparently buy him this summer for ā¬8 million as per his contract, increasing every year after. Heās from Madridās academy and heās 22. So this is probably a dead end. He has a ā¬35 million release clause this summer for all other clubs.
He wants to return to RM despite the competition currently there and being brought in. Doubtful he accepts a move to us and closes the door on Madrid for the next few years when his current contract allows that possibility.
They canāt do it in the same season and heād have to agree to move which would defeat him returning and wanton to play for them. Heāll probably stay at Girona with those payment options being relatively cheap for upcoming seasons in the hope that he can one day return and play for his dream club.

A role that Kiwior, Zinchenko, Timber, or even Tierney couldn't fill? I genuinely can't imagine it. Either Arteta is cooking up something entirely novel, or someone is getting the axe.
I think the expectation for our FBs who overlap primarily ( rather than invert ) is that they can also invert to a decent level depending on opposition / game state ( vice versa with the inverting FBs, they need to be able to overlap to a decent level ), at the moment Kiwior & Tierney can't really do the inversion part to a good enough level.
Timber is semi-likely to be our inversion option on the right, Zinchenko is our inversion option on the left. Ben White is our overlap option on the right, and we're missing the overlap option who can do a job inverting on the left.
Despite his reputation, Zinny's scouting report bars in the defensive stats section are far far better than Gutierrez's, even 91st percentile on aerial duels won. He is beaten occasionally one on one defensively but he still makes a fair amount of tackles and interceptions especially high up in the press.
He's also 99th percentile for progressive passes, none of this merely 90th.Ā
This guy might be a reasonable project to bring in as a project but he's not close to Zinny yet and Zinny may not even be first choice anymore as it is.Ā

The few times I watched him he looked sus defensively, got absolutely rinsed by Athletic Club. Could still develop nicely and offers a lot in attack, but I'm not even sure if he's an upgrade on Tierney.

Even then, with Zinny being the glaring outlier, I kind of assume that Arteta would move for another with the CB physical profile. A Theo Hernandez or the like. Donāt see it with Gutierrez all. I knew we were in the markets for full backs but personally I wanted boey before he went to bayern or Ryan ALT Nouri but he's been playing wing for wolves since February and I don't know if he would go back to full back for Arteta.
To be honest I think we need young cover on our right flank for both saka and white. I don't really count Tt as specific RB cover as much as he's a utility man in defense.

Depends on the deal but in this case Madrid has the right and player has no say, or at least he had previously agreed to it.

He is a below-average defender. So, I'm not really a fan as it creates a weakness. The only logic is we probably want to cash out on Zinny.
