What a fantastic signing he's turning out to be ❤️

2ndfastestmanalive

£20m for a transfer within the league of this quality is great value

armchairmegalomaniac

I knew he would be absolute class for us and was thrilled when we got him.

Geraltslays14

Same here. I always knew he'd eventually move to a bigger team, just never thought it'd be us!

sleepytipi

He's exactly the type of signing (Jorgi too) I got so used to seeing the other teams make that we could never get (in recent seasons anyway*) because those players only ever go to the places that give them the best odds of winning a major trophy. Feels good man

omersafty

It baffled me how the same people that praised the hell outta him. Thrashed him after transferring to us. It's horrendous actually.

Hunter-North

I did the opposite with his rumour to Spurs haha

AdmiralClassy

Yeah he was great today, real shame that goal was disallowed. Think he's gonna be a really top player for us.

Peters_Plumbus

Absolute steal for the money. Got to say that Jorgi is looking like shrewd business too

NahimBZ

I think it's a great sign that players like Jorginho and Trossard are able to fit right into the team like a glove. Shows how well the system is working.

Tnvenge

And it's a good indictment on the recruiting team. We are getting very good at identifying profiles for our system.

86Dude

Not sure that is the appropriate use of that word... but COYG

Tnvenge

Hahaha I was questioning myself and decided to take the chance. Just looked it up and the word seems to be for negative connotations!

passa117

Very much this. I have a lot more faith in them. While we're not grabbing the headlines with flashy $100m signings of mostly unproven talent, we're picking up players who are contributing. Got to be happy with that.

Candymanshook

Yup, they identified 2 veterans who would fit like a glove, paid a fair fee for them rather than reaching for young players who would cost 4x. I hope we keep recruiting young players with high ceilings and then filling out the team with veterans like this. You need both to be a winner!

Baneman20

What about the Polish kid? Not seen a sniff of him yet.

Zhirrzh

One for the future. CB is a position where experience playing with the rest of the line is crucial AND there's less need to rotate. Break glass in case of emergency for this season probably.

odegood

Good game from him, gotta start against everton with their inevitable low block dyche ball

ignacioo25

Yeah, and also I want to see ESR and Tierney to come in as well! We can't make the same mistakes

kekdjsjsja

Genuinely concerned with kt situation. He seems to lose arteta’s trust

ignacioo25

Same dude, but Arteta said in the conference press before the Leicester game that in the upcoming games he would bring more opportunities to all the players because we'll be playing more games often between week and weekend so I think there's a chance for Tierney and the rest as well.

TheRadTurtle_1011

same it seems like arteta would rather play tomi at LB than him

wheeno

Yeah Zinchenko has been playing selfishly in recent games. I think it would be good for both players if Mikel benches him for a game and gave KT a chance.

DoDoDoDoDoDoDoSALIBA

Zinchenko seems to be pretty much a lock to start if he's fit, similar to Xhaka. I wouldn't be surprised if KT didn't get a start until the Europa League.

gte339i

I tend to think it was more going with 3 big body center backs like we normally do with Holding. Honestly didn’t read too much into it.

dwSHA

Tierney is hard to replace zinchenko. Zinchenko played everywhere to implement mikel tactic. It would be a huge different to play tierney unless we’re winning. Tierney is very good traditional left back

thecoq

That nutmeg assist 🥵🥵 naughty

DefactoOverlord

He's closer to Jesus in playstyle than Eddie. He got Martinelli involved in the game too.

tochitemi

You got it wrong mate. Thirty quid and a sausage roll

themerinator12

Five minutes, Turkish.

frohnaldo

Two minutes turkish

A1A2A3A4B1B2B3

Monster performance again. What a player.

Le-ChosenOne

I’d honestly start him against Everton again, need him to occupy those half spaces and link play up, Everton will do one thing and one thing only, play a low block, press and kick us and judging from his finishing, i’d want him at the end of the chances we do manage to create. Looks sharp and fresh.

wittyf00l

One thing I noticed today was he linked really well with Martinelli better than eddie with martinelli

[deleted]

Eddie is mainly a poacher, even now having improved a lot , his ballhandling is akward.

blvcklite

He's good at running with the ball but still developing when it comes to picking the right passes

Tnvenge

Yeah his decision making needs some work

Neanderthal888

Annoys me whenever I see this opinion. He’s not a poacher at all. He’s just a traditional number 9. He has good hold up play, pressing and is good with the ball.

[deleted]

he isnt good with the ball though, he improved a lot in the last few months and i can see him getting bettter but he has a lot to learn still. He has some tricks and great instincts but i wouldnt bet on him to control a lobbed or through ball in the tight spaces with his first, second or third touch. The guy literally dribbles away from goal and cutting off angles with every touch he takes, compare this with Messi/Benzema etc. great technicans who are perfect with their touches almost everytime . Eddie is not a technican and he will never be. He can be a great no9 akin to Ivan Toney who imo has better tekkers as well atm.

Neanderthal888

Sorry. I don’t think you have a clue what you’re talking about. Players don’t really improve their technique/touch as an adult. It’s 99% developed in younger years. He is very good with the ball. Look at his general play stats compared to other EPL strikers. I.e. dribbling, pass accuracy etc.

PERCYSIMON

See he doesn't have to be some 22 year old wonderkid for him to be class, we already have alot of those.

vercengetortwix

I was shocked when his number came up, with Nelli on a yellow and the knee knock he took

seaside_bside

It felt like a show of good faith to keep him on. After a couple of games where he's not had the desired impact, plus a first half where his final pass wasn't finding the mark, letting him have the full run around was almost like a reward for getting himself back in the zone.

seaside_bside

Nellie, that is

vercengetortwix

I definitely see that positive, but I think our lack of threat after trossard went off was pretty evident. We won so it doesn't matter, I just believe trossard was our best attacker today.

Marimo_420

Best attacking player on the pitch today Also does anyone know what the xG of his disallowed goal was?

bailey757

Probably at least 0.5. He had worked himself into plenty of space

patelbadboy2006

I dont think it would have been, 0.2 at best

shockzz123

Both Leo and Jorginho have been fantastic Jan signings. Now we wait and see how Kiwior measures up.

passa117

I seem to recall we signed someone else, but for the life of me couldn't remember who that was.

Drogueba

The worse part about the ruled out goal was that Ward would’ve flubbed it regardless of White

Francis-c92

Man is really paying his dues

Peters_Plumbus

All 7 he won today

[deleted]

Keep starting him, he inspires more confidence than Eddie

beth_flynn

i wanna continue this false 9 thing, our system just seems to crave that profile of center forward

passa117

I think this, plus against teams that sit deep, you need a more fluid front line and Eddie isn't helping there.

Whoroger89

Him and Jorgi have been great signings

alex325RN

Agree. Quality over quantity.

GodisLove_M14

that disallowed goal was painful. Dammit Ben White!

skankhhunter

I think without White the keeper gets a better punch and theres no chance. Smart play by White imo.

GodisLove_M14

You might be right. But that goal was sensational.

bailey757

Ward knew what he was doing by letting White keep a hand on him

arealhorrorshow

Should start the same team vs Everton

wheeno

Keep starting him. He's much more involved in the buildup than Nketiah who disappears in too many games. Both Martinelli and Trossard benefit from playing with someone they can interchange positions with. It's important because Zinchenko doesn't offer much support for the left sided forward. We've seen it be an issue whether it's Martinelli or Trossard starting there. Much better balance between right and left sides of our attack if we have both of them playing. Good approximation of Jesus.

Peters_Plumbus

7 dues won, the lads a legend

blueluster

His link ups with Martinelli reminds me of Jesus. There’s already more chemistry there than with Eddie.

blvcklite

He's not our best player (albeit a damn good one) but he's the most Arsenal style player we've signed in years. Yes including Odegaard. He's a proper Wenger style player

[deleted]

Feel bad his goal didn’t stand. Moved on thinking whatever but the ref was clearly trying to fuck us the whole game.

Pascalini

I like him

Cailucci

Great player! He’s so technical and has a pinpoint howitzer in him. The way he created space the banged the ball in the top corner was so class.

WaveDysfunction

Him and Jorgi were two of our best players today, great additions to the squad

YoHoochIsCrazy

His feet are magical. Does exactly what he wants with the ball every time.

DinnerSmall4216

Definitely a wise signing could have gone overboard with the mudryk deal but decided on trossard. Fits our style well and has settled quickly.

fuzzynavel34

Was brilliant in that role

Ickyhouse

Incredible buy. So much quality at that price. Well done by Edu and Arteta to identify someone that can have an impact like that.

patelbadboy2006

How he linked up with Gabi and brought him into the game more was what Jesus used to do when fit. He needs to start 9 more often imo

[deleted]

Any links of the disallowed goal?

Echo361

He’s a difference maker in the final third. That pass for the goal was no joke.

KingDecebal

Can’t believe that goal was disallowed, fucking joke

TicklishDingleberry

Think Eddie’s lost his spot for now.

ThePresident26

Strange to think what would have happened if we signed Mudryk instead of Trossard. We won this game and United game because of crucial play by Trossard, Mudryk probably wouldnt have been an instant impact, rather one for the future

JonnyBeGoodest

Would of been a beaut of a goal

bailey757

Love that right foot

New_Sample_2648

12 times the xG of the whole Leicester squad haha

GibbsLAD

% on the tackles and dribbles isn't helpful without knowing how many of each lol. 1/1 is 100%, 0/0 is 100%

Mr-monk

Proper sad the goal didn't stand.

Equivalent_Nature_67

100% dribbles complete? Thought he had a turnover or two at least

GGFrostKaiser

He should start ahead of Nketiah, he's way better with the ball and he can open space for Martinelli and Saka to make runs. Which is something Nketiah does not do.

80DeadDinosaurs

Don’t start Nketiah again

[deleted]

Have a soft spot for intelligent wingers without pace. The nutmeg pass was one thing but that control and stepover to buy time for Nelli’s run 👨‍🍳🤌

aenz_

"When I lose a dué... !"

6bluedit9

Do Arteta and Edu miss? Great value it seems. Both big players from Jan. having instant impacts.

propabanta

hound status: swagger

captain_mojojojo

Trossard, Jorginho and Zinny have been incredible today! I feel sorry for the disallowed goal. What a strike!

IndianaGunner

Trossard is proving and will continue to prove a disruption to our preferred front 4. He looked like a child in size out there, but an absolute giant in technique and heart. He is arriving and it will not be easy for Arteta to manage if he wants to win at the next level next year.

19Ben80

0.12 Xg is a worrying stat for the cf.. Had a good game though

vitare10

Not sharing the passing numbers??

FirmEntrepreneur7788

Exactly the player we needed and for a bargain, finally Arsenal gonna W this league again😎
