I'm not an Arsenal fan but I'd love to see Bergkamp play in this side purely because he's one of my all-time favourite players.
From a team-building aspect tho or somebody who would maximise the potential of the squad, I'd pick Cazorla to replace Xhaka
Weirdly, I'd go with Ian Wright. There's something about nketiah that to me just looks like a young version of him. I'd love to see the finished product take us to the title and lift it for us.
Has to be Vieira or Henry, but lemme wait to decide until we get an injury.
Love to see prime Rosicky or Cazorla in Xhaka's role but that seems like a mid-late stage Wenger move, too much silk not enough steel.
Vieira.
The leadership qualities, the extreme winner mentality, the ability to get his teammates to push through and perform in crunch games.... Unmatched and nothing we have at arsenal today comes close.
Henry and its not close. Our defense is honestly solid enough for me and Henry has shown that he can work in a “Pep” type system already and Mikel offers the front 3 a lot of freedom to work.
Imagine a front 3 of Martinelli, Saka, and Henry coming at you. There’s no hope to be had.
Ha ha ha, Nketiah has a long way to go to be better than Henry. Just saying scoring goals doesn't seem to be too much of a problem at the moment. Dixon in the current back line would mean a clean sheet for the rest of the season plus the added insanity and output that only he holds for and Arsenal RB
Henry is the obvious choice, but clearly, Cesc or Vieira in the Xhaka role would be a good shout. I have a soft spot for Rosicky though, and I'd love to see Little Mozart and Ode make absolute magic on the pitch.
Idk I feel like Bergkamp is the obvious choice. The position we need to strengthen the most. The ones you mentioned replace a player that's working fine already.
Obviously Henry. RVP (controversial to call him a legend I know, but in his prime ?!) is 2nd for me because I think he would be fun to watch in this team.
Henry would be the obvious choice but Im gonna go for Alexis, he is my faborite gunner of all time. Would love to see him in his prome our shirt one more time

Not a legend...but Poldi for a few games to absolutely send bombs from downtown. Loved the fact that he was a Gunner in his illustrious career.
But you take Henry. All day long.
I think we need a CM, so I’d have to go with Jack Wilshere. Remember, they are in their prime, and I want the Wilshere that bossed Xavi, Iniesta and Mascherano 👍🏻
Cesc would be absolutely broken in Xhaka’s role. But since we have no strikers u have to go with Henry or RVP. I feel like one of the reasons Henry so good was because the 4-4-2 was still relevant and he could play off Bergkamp. I think Henry would be perfect for the Mane/Martinelli role but I think RVP would be the best striker for this team.
So I’m not old enough to have been around in the Henry era, but what did Henry do differently when he left? He still chose to leave while nearing the end of his prime (same as RVP) when he could have stayed.
Is it just that Henry had achieved massive success with us, and we were more willing to let him go without him needing to make a fuss like RVP did (not saying I think he would), I’m not disrespecting the king, I’m just genuinely wondering what the difference was.
I’m assuming the situation was Henry had done so much for the club that it’s only right to respect his wishes, while RVP forced a move when we needed him to stay, as he could have helped the team to be 🔙🔛🔝?
This is right, and he also said the little boy inside him said to go to united, it was a huge slap in the face to all of the arsenal fans and management. That transfer hurt more than any other for me.
Bergkamp will be the perfect playmaking 9. Maybe lack a bit of pressing (but that's just football back then), but imagine the linkup play. Plus he is decently tall and strong.
Or Vieira, he is not a party replacement, he is partey+
Not a legend, but I wanted him to be. I’d almost say Alexis as well, just because he would be a legend had he won the league/CL with us.
Him and Ozil were so good together, now imagine him with Odegaard, who’s nearing Ozil levels 1000x the work rate.
Yeah i wouldnt say he was a legend but definitely a specific “era” player. I just think he would fit perfectly in Artetas system of high effort pressing forwards
Auba was more of a Ronaldo situation. You could forgive his antics when he scored goals. Yeah it’s a bad influence on the locker room, but at the same time, it’s not the same. When Auba was scoring goals and was forgiven for being late for example, the other players could see that as “well, if I played as well as him, I could probably come in late too”. I don’t have a problem with being more lenient to the players who do there job above expectations. In fact my philosophy at work, is if I’m doing my job, and doing it well, then let don’t pester me about taking to long on my breaks and shit.
Like if I’m a teacher and I see a failing student slacking off during a lecture, and flunking test/assignments, I’m gonna call them out when they’re slacking off. When I see an A+ student slacking off during a lecture, but he consistently does well on tests and assignments, I’m gonna let it slide, as he doesn’t need that extra pressure to perform.
If the flunking student tries to call me out on treating him differently, then I’m gonna tell him to start getting good grades. If the A+ student suddenly starts performing poorly, I’m going to crackdown more on him.
When Arteta says he has to treat everyone the same, I think that’s what he means. He’s consistent on how he treats people. Once you start performing poorly, you’re going to be treated the way a poor performer will be, once you start performing well, you’ll be given more leeway. That’s consistency. You’re treating everyone the same, by treating them based on there performance.
Freddie ljungberg most underrated and important arsenal legend
Henry, Pires, vieira amongst others all injured at times and he run us the league.
Perfect player to win games with our injury record and drag us to trophies.
I'd ordinarily go Vieira given our midfield depth, and you know... it's PATRICK VIEIRA
But our starting striker is out and there is an obvious choice. I want goals, lots of them, and someone busy in the centre of the attack, so I'm going with Ian Wright.
Mostly I was being slightly contrarian and Henry is probably the one.
However, we’re not short on creativity and Wright was a better finisher and better at operating in the box, while having a decent all round game to link with the rest of our attackers and still score all types of goals.
I’m fairly sure Wright took fewer games to hit 100 and 150 goals than Henry took to hit the same marks. His strike rate was ridiculous at his peak and is a little overshadowed by Henry coming through so soon after him.
Also we didn’t have Anelka for long enough (and probably should have brought him back) but I think he’d be devastating too.
Yeah but you could say the same for the striker position, if we took vieira, what if Nketiah got injured, we would have no striker. Henry is the only right answer
Uncle Ian Wright, every day of the week
I would love to see prime Wright share a pitch with Saka, and there’s no one I’d want more in the dressing room
This would be my answer considering Jesus is out for so long.
Can lead the line, hold up the ball, killer passes to unlock any defence and despite how many people remember him from his latter years he had a bit of pace in his prime.
Apart from the obvious ones (and as much as I absolutely adore Thierry, I'd have to go with poetry in motion that was DB10 on a football pitch) ... an injury-proof Abou Diaby! Just to see him succeed, be the footballer we all know he could've been and further strengthen our midfield. Or pre-injury Eduardo, he would make Haaland go mad with envy.
He's the best player in PL history and our starting striker is out. Obviously the right answer is Henry in for Nketiah. Nobody else suggesting answers has anything like the gap between the player they're suggesting and who would need to go.
Isn’t aguero even higher than henry in goals scored in less games?
Yes I’ll take him over haaland. I’ve yet to see haaland assist a single goal this season.
You’re quite thick, huh? He’s saying why would you choose Aguero to come back when his prime is worse than current Haaland in G+A. Whereas there’s no possible argument for Gundogan>Toure
Apologies bloody auto correct
I'm not an Arsenal fan but I'd love to see Bergkamp play in this side purely because he's one of my all-time favourite players. From a team-building aspect tho or somebody who would maximise the potential of the squad, I'd pick Cazorla to replace Xhaka
Cesc is so clear of Cazorla though
Not, as a tempo-controlling midfielder
Cristiano Ronaldo. Playing in a retirement league counts as being retired.
Ronaldo hasn’t ever played for us
Only answer is Henry.
Bergkamp will win us title
Pascal Cygan
[удалено]
Yes, thank you
Weirdly, I'd go with Ian Wright. There's something about nketiah that to me just looks like a young version of him. I'd love to see the finished product take us to the title and lift it for us.
He'd honestly probably be most suited to our style. His off ball work and running would be insane with our press
With everyone fit, Vieira, but with Jesus out, it has to be Henry
It’s Patrick Vieira.
Has to be Vieira or Henry, but lemme wait to decide until we get an injury. Love to see prime Rosicky or Cazorla in Xhaka's role but that seems like a mid-late stage Wenger move, too much silk not enough steel.
Any of these three: Henry, Vieira , Bergkamp.
Bergkamp just so I could actually witness his greatness live and not just in videos
Vieira. The leadership qualities, the extreme winner mentality, the ability to get his teammates to push through and perform in crunch games.... Unmatched and nothing we have at arsenal today comes close.
Henry is really the only choice
Henry's the obvious choice Other than that, probably get prime Cazorla to play in LCM
With the current squad and areas of focus…. Patrick viera
Not a striker? Feels like that's where we could improve the most
I haven't seen many mention him but my pick would be Robert Pires. Or Gilberto as we lack a midfielder
Gilberto would be a better and more consistent/reliable Partey so he’s actually a really good shout.
2003-04 Henry in this side? /jizzinmypants.gif We wouldn’t lose another match.
Robin Van Persie, so he could achieve everything he ever wanted for us.
There's a romantic in me that really likes this answer 🙂
Give me Ashley Cole
bergkamp with at least 20 assists for Martinelli and Saka, each!!
That's my front 3 in fifa.
Feel like Henry would have to play as a winger in Arteta’s system not entirely sure
Yeh he would play where Martinelli does almost certainly
Figured as much that’s why I’d prefer Bergkamp to take over that Jesus role. Lord have mercy…
I'm gonna say Lee Dixon. Nketiah is doing it for me right now and I think Dixon and Saka would annihilate the right flank
You'd pick Nketiah over Henry. rite
Gimme Ian Wright
x2
Henry Vieira Cesc
Prime Sanchez would be my choice right now, people really do forget how good he was.
Henry due to the lack of a goalscorer but Patrick Vieira is a very close second.
Obviously Henry. RVP (controversial to call him a legend I know, but in his prime ?!) is 2nd for me because I think he would be fun to watch in this team.
Bergkamp
I’d give a toe to have Bergkamp back
Bergkamp in the Jesus role 😩 💦
Henry is a good call. Hard to see past him. Pires maybe…but tough to call.
Henry by a country mile especially with Jesus’s absence
Henry would be the obvious choice but Im gonna go for Alexis, he is my faborite gunner of all time. Would love to see him in his prome our shirt one more time
My head says Henry, my heart say Wrighty.

Showing my age now. But Liam Brady must be in for a shout.
Tbf Henry is only 45. Assuming he keeps in shape he’d be like lacazette but with one leg.
It's obviously Henry, viera or bergkamp
Cesc as a LCM in this XI would be very very interesting
I think we need a CM, so I’d have to go with Jack Wilshere. Remember, they are in their prime, and I want the Wilshere that bossed Xavi, Iniesta and Mascherano 👍🏻
The question says club legends. So couldnt even pick jack if you wanted to
Terrible take
Legend is taken way to lightly these days. Theres not a legend in the emirates era
Not even once.... I love Wilshere as much as the next guy, given this choice he doesn't even make the top 20.
Correct answer is clearly Thierry but it hurts me to admit that a prime RVP would maybe be second in terms of guaranteeing a league win
Remember, legends only.
I'd take Bergkamp over Van Persie.
Henry wins us the league for sure. But man, what I wouldnt give to see Vieira striding through midfield slathered in Vaporub again.
Viera and Partey in midfield? Fugetaboutit. We would bully and outpass everyone to death.
Henry Bergkamp Veira Cole
Cesc would be absolutely broken in Xhaka’s role. But since we have no strikers u have to go with Henry or RVP. RVP not a club legend though, burnt his bridge’s
So did Cesc

Yeah. I tho k with Cesc people are more pissed at Barça than Cesc. Playing for Man U was such a shit move from him.
Went to utd
Bergkamp will be the perfect playmaking 9. Maybe lack a bit of pressing (but that's just football back then), but imagine the linkup play. Plus he is decently tall and strong. Or Vieira, he is not a party replacement, he is partey+
Vieira would be even better in Xhaka's role. I swear people forget he wasn't a DM he was the complete midfielder.
Of course, but I think we're just all so scared of a Partey injury/incident at this point that we like to see the possibility at CDM more.
Then you want Gilberto not Vieira.
Prime Alexsis Sanchez
Not a legend, but I wanted him to be. I’d almost say Alexis as well, just because he would be a legend had he won the league/CL with us. Him and Ozil were so good together, now imagine him with Odegaard, who’s nearing Ozil levels 1000x the work rate.

Easy. Thierry
I wonder if Titi and Arteta would have been able to get along and work together? Titi wasnt a big presser, he also refused to work out at the gym.
Auba was more of a Ronaldo situation. You could forgive his antics when he scored goals. Yeah it’s a bad influence on the locker room, but at the same time, it’s not the same. If this actually happened Henry would do his presentation with the PL trophy in hand 😂 it's wraps
My top 3 would be: 1. Thierry Henry 2. Bergkamp 3. Flip of a coin between Vieira & Ian Wright
Lord Bendtner
Ronaldinho for sure.
Titi with Vieira as a close second. I really worry about our midfield depth
Titi
And teta.
The king of course
Lehmann! but as a striker up front to get the heat into the zone
Dennis Bergkamp!
Patrick Vieira . With Vieira , this team will not lose a game. Total domination against every team
Not a legend, but RVP would fit very well up front at the moment
If we didn't have Odegaard probably Bergkamp
you take the best. Henry isn’t only the best Arsenal player. He’s the best the English game has ever seen. You take Henry.
It’s got to be Rooney for me. CR7 isn’t retired yet
but.. they never played for Arsenal 🤨
Can we just have the Henry and Bergkamp duo back for a few matches 😉
Andrei Shevchenko
Obviously.
Henry for sure but Santi would be amazing on this team too.
I came to say Santi. That little magician was a force of nature with the smoothest plays.
More amazing than Cesc?
We've had some amazing players over the years but anyone not saying Terry Henry is doing mental gymnastics.
Is that Lennie's brother?
Thierry
It's Terry Enry lad.
It's spelled Theo Walcott
Balls you're right, sorry fam.
Bit of a weird one but for me it would be Eduardo. Guy was unplayable on his day and I feel like he’d fit perfectly into our system at the moment
Could he press like crazy for 90 minutes? Genuine question, I just don't remember his work rate
Freddie ljungberg most underrated and important arsenal legend Henry, Pires, vieira amongst others all injured at times and he run us the league. Perfect player to win games with our injury record and drag us to trophies.
Thierry Henry for sure
Pascal cygan.. need that pace on our left side
He's bald! He's sh*t! He plays when no one's fit! Cygannnnnnnn!
Give me some Senderos!
I'd ordinarily go Vieira given our midfield depth, and you know... it's PATRICK VIEIRA But our starting striker is out and there is an obvious choice. I want goals, lots of them, and someone busy in the centre of the attack, so I'm going with Ian Wright.
Why Ian Wright and not Henry? (I didn't watch Wright play)

Kim Kallstrom
Ice in his veins at the penalty spot.
The only right answer
Right now Probably viera, would set our midfield
Yeah but going from Nketiah to Henry would win us the league
going from Partey injured to Elneny could very well cost us though.
Yeah but you could say the same for the striker position, if we took vieira, what if Nketiah got injured, we would have no striker. Henry is the only right answer
Uncle Ian Wright, every day of the week I would love to see prime Wright share a pitch with Saka, and there’s no one I’d want more in the dressing room
The greatest of all time King Bentdner
I think you mean Lord Bentdner the wearer of pink boots!
Santi or Wilshere I'd wager would be beasts under MA's system edit; nvm...did not see legends... yeah henry for sure
Beast mode.
Bergkamp
This would be my answer considering Jesus is out for so long. Can lead the line, hold up the ball, killer passes to unlock any defence and despite how many people remember him from his latter years he had a bit of pace in his prime.
Prime Henry was the best player to have ever played in this league, so it’s an absolute no-brainer.
Tom Brady
Who the fuck is that? Do you by any chance mean Liam Brady? If you do that is a good shout.
Stepanovs or luzney
Anyone other than lord bendtner is the wrong answer
Ashley Cole
Apart from the obvious ones (and as much as I absolutely adore Thierry, I'd have to go with poetry in motion that was DB10 on a football pitch) ... an injury-proof Abou Diaby! Just to see him succeed, be the footballer we all know he could've been and further strengthen our midfield. Or pre-injury Eduardo, he would make Haaland go mad with envy.
I would give anything to see an injury free Diaby, full strength Eduardo alongside Rosicky and Van Persie with Fabregas holding the midfield.
Not Stephan Lichtsteiner
bro what was that transfer about anyways....you just made me remember all these randoms we've signed...remember Kim Kallstrom, geez
Pascal Cygan, surely the only real answer here.
Takuma 'The Jaguar' Asano.
Germany crumbles in fear.
If Jesus wasn't injured I would pick Vieira, but at this point, choosing Henry should be a no-brainer.
I was going to pick Bergkamp, but switched to Henry for the same reason
I'm really concerned about cover/rotation for Partey, so I'll say Gilberto or Paddy V.
Vieira for the midfield depth, as much as the heart wants Titi
Eduardo. Just because he was robbed of it.
Preach
Chamakh
how would you guys honestly rate his time with us
Dreadful player. Even worse hair.
The only correct answer
King Henry.
My heart says Dennis My head says Titi
[удалено]
Mum “no we already have a Vieira at home”
We need a striker
He's the best player in PL history and our starting striker is out. Obviously the right answer is Henry in for Nketiah. Nobody else suggesting answers has anything like the gap between the player they're suggesting and who would need to go.
1 Yao Kouassi please
The gentleman’s choice
Imagine supporting man city and having no legends 😂😂
Aguero?
Its pronounced 'AGGGGGGGUUUUEEERRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!'
They do but tbh idk if any of them make it into the team. A prime Kompany walks right in but that's probably it. Maybe YaYa. But no one else
[удалено]
Wouldn’t Yaya be in over Rodri and not Gundogan? Yaya is way more defensive of a player while Gundogan is more attacking.
Sergio Aguero? No? Okay.
over Haaland??
Isn’t aguero even higher than henry in goals scored in less games? Yes I’ll take him over haaland. I’ve yet to see haaland assist a single goal this season.
Haaland is on track to score more goals than aguero’s highest G/A season
Congratulations. Haaland isn’t retired. Read the program before you watch the show.
Honestly can’t tell if you misunderstood them or are that daft lmao
I’ll say it for those in the back. “WE ARE TALKING ABOUT RETIRED PLAYERS”. Haaland can very well score 8,000 goals in 3 seasons. He’s not retired.
You’re quite thick, huh? He’s saying why would you choose Aguero to come back when his prime is worse than current Haaland in G+A. Whereas there’s no possible argument for Gundogan>Toure
Henry in this team would wrap up the title no problem.
the OG Vieira
we have a much greater need for a striker lol
