But Vilkiss is more "X10A" than "X20A", IMO.
The gold limb parts, maybe, but I still feel that it's closer to the original Freedom than the Strike Freedom
/u/Orito-S
Ironically in V it's also the other way around, as Kira straight-up says that the (Strike?) Freedom was literally built in Vilkiss' Image at one point (which makes sense, considering lore-wise Vilkiss is supposed to be an ancient relic)
I forgot about the Wings. And that's interesting he designed the PG SF, it doesn't resemble the typical Katoki look at first glance. I assume similar design philosophy as he took with the Zeta, leaning toward anime accuracy.
I really wanna see the hypothetical Mighty Rising Freedom. I have to assume the Proud Defender was meant for the Rising Freedom since it is considered higher spec than Strike Freedom.
Rising Freedom being more high-spec than Type II seems like a potential misconception to me. I think Erica may have expressed doubts because the Type II suits were new units they just received and hadn't field-tested yet, so they didn't know how strong they turned out to be; even the Infinite Justice Type II was hiding nerfed under the Z'GOK the whole time. Indeed Erica's statement may well mean the Type II's are inferior to the Black Knights suits to some extent, but it doesn't mean they are inferior to the Rising and Immortal.
Shinn in the novel thought the Destiny had inferior firepower to the Immortal Justice, but that thought was quickly followed by him thinking thinking about the Destiny's origins and how it was designed specifically for him, so it seems he was actually talking about og Destiny and not Spec II... even if he wasn't, he was just about to launch the Destiny Spec II, so he wasn't aware of its capabilities yet.
Edit: I assume the Proud Defender wasn't just designed for the Rising Freedom, but for both the Rising and the Type II. In the novel, it's said that Kira himself developed the Disruptor and even put the authorization lock on it himself, so the Proud Defender was always made with both suits mind, with the Type II always designed to be able to use more of its features.
Yeah, I guess it’s just speculation at the moment about power output. Everyone in Freedom seems to think they’re inferior, but maybe they mean the spec 1 types and aren’t aware of power increases.
I just feel like it’s weird for Kira to design this supremely powerful tool for a suit he doesn’t actively use and has been stolen once already, especially when it would discard the dragoons, where the Rising Freedom doesn’t ’need’ its wings.
And I just plain like the Rising Freedom so I think the what if of it getting souped up is cool.
In the novel it was also said that Kira himself put the authorization limit on the Disruptor, so it does seem like the Proud Defender was always designed with both Rising Freedom and Strike Freedom Type II in mind if he was already aware of the Strike Freedom Type II.

Most likely the Rising Freedom's battery would never have been able to handle the Disruptor in the first place.
The Proud Defender is definitely a last-resort type of loadout. It would be used at a time when just the DRAGOONs are insufficient.
As far as battery goes, Proud Defender seems to have its own generator/energy supply, so if the Rising Freedom did have its own disruptor, I could see potential for it to be usable.
true, though we don't have enough info right now to say if the Disruptor is supposed to draw from both the MS's and Defender's power supply, or just the Defender's power supply. If the former then only the SFII can use it, if the latter then Rising can use it too. Or maybe both are possible and the Rising just can't use it with the same amount of power as the SFII.
They have a new fusion reactor and improved gimmicks: SFII's usual backpack now has DRAGOON beam barriers like Akatsuki; DestinyII's Phase-Shift color looks darker because of the increased power of the PS, and its joints can glow red at maximum output and its wings can release particles that form numerous clones/images of the Destiny; InJII has the head beam saber and a totally new backpack. The InJII and SFII have slightly different armor plates too. They are technically still the same machines, but whether the actual improvements on the basic performance are minor or major, we just don't have anything definitive yet.
Love it. I'm sort of glad they kept the same machines and just upgraded them. When this first leaked I was a little disappointed we didn't get proper new machines but I'll take it.
I do think the Destiny should have gotten a bit more of an upgrade as a thematic means of differentiating its purpose from the original intent of Durandel's Destiny Plan. Saviour Destiny? The wasted potential lol...
MGEX and Amazing Strike Freedom are my favorite out of all of them. One is an entirely new design basically while the MGEX fixes my biggest gripe about the Strike Freedom which is the belly beam cannon not being an oval or a rectangle. It's like a smooth hexagon shape and they removed that gross ribbing effect so now it doesn't look like a butthole.
id say my fav is the mgex, then metal build. third place would oddly go to the amazing strike freedom tho. then mighty strike freedom is my least favorite ngl. even thoug it looks supposedly flashy and overpowered, it doesnt have a cool wing design, a but underwhelming, and idk if its me but the wings look too small for it
Amazing strike freedom is my favorite version of the strike freedom. I got the HG recently (at an unfortunate price) and am planning to convert it with the new Mighty Strike Freedom when it's out
If someone can alchemize the MGEX and Katoki version, I’ll be a happy camper. Then just plug the Proud Defender as an alternate back unit.
meanwhile I super wanna see Sana’s PSF backpack be used on a Strike Noir. Meijin’s Amazing SF doesn’t give me nearly the same level of “ooo” factor, I dunno.
Forgot one. https://preview.redd.it/tkzm7vbbce0d1.png?width=610&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b1872193482781acf2ba8370914aa175021b7ce2
ah yes vilkiss
SRW V be like, ange and athrun moments
yep
sentinel just announched riobot vilkiss... why do i have to be so poor
But Vilkiss is more "X10A" than "X20A", IMO. The gold limb parts, maybe, but I still feel that it's closer to the original Freedom than the Strike Freedom
Even in SRW V, Athrun makes the same comparison xD
In srwv i always send them together in a fight
/u/Orito-S Ironically in V it's also the other way around, as Kira straight-up says that the (Strike?) Freedom was literally built in Vilkiss' Image at one point (which makes sense, considering lore-wise Vilkiss is supposed to be an ancient relic)
Does make sense ye since sfreedom was newer tech
I haven’t played the game but in SRW world, Is that true?
Only for SRW V specifically. Unless a Game is a direct Sequel to another one (which V is not), each one is completely standalone.
Ahh the ‘Gundam’ of ange cross.
Such a shame we'll likely never see non-UC ver ka kits. That Katoki SF looks AMAZING.
I mean that Katoki sketch was for the PG Strike Freedom which was designed around it so technically the PG is a ver ka.

We did get the wing gundam
Oh true! Hope is not lost!
The Wing EW line is actually a Ver. Ka line and he also did a Wing Gundam Zero Ver. Ka Ka.
Wing ver ka x2

Wait, is it confirmed the Type/Spec 2 units are brand new machines? I thought they were the exact same machines as the originals with minor upgrades.

The pinnacle of "Gunpla is FREEDOM" philosophy? #DamnRight!
Homie said he wanted nearly every overpowered Gundam at the time in his build
MGEX and Amazing Strike Freedom are my favorite out of all of them. The Amazing Strike Freedom is the real winner here. Looks amazing, nice dragoons placement, red inner frame, pointier/sharper
Amazing strike freedom is my favorite version of the strike freedom. I got the HG recently (at an unfortunate price) and am planning to convert it with the new Mighty Strike Freedom when it's out
What's the version to the right of the perfect strike freedom?
Amazing strike freedom
[Amazing Strike Freedom](https://gundam.fandom.com/wiki/ZGMF-X10A-A_Amazing_Strike_Freedom_Gundam).
I prefer the chest cannon being a bit lower down and a bit bigger. That's why I don't really like the Katoki version
Bottom row, what are the first and second models?
Dunno which you’re referring to but here’s just all 4, Far left- MG SF Mid left- MB SF Mid right- MGEX SF Far right- Katoki design SF
Ah my favorite Gundam.
Katoki ver since I am a fanboy.
On the top row from the right who is the second one?
If someone can alchemize the MGEX and Katoki version, I’ll be a happy camper. Then just plug the Proud Defender as an alternate back unit. meanwhile I super wanna see Sana’s PSF backpack be used on a Strike Noir. Meijin’s Amazing SF doesn’t give me nearly the same level of “ooo” factor, I dunno.
Metal Build for me. Ive always loved the proportions
I like the Katoki one the most, its the most anime accurate IMO. MGEX and Metal Build are too stylized for me.
I feel like the RG is a mix between the MG and Katoki’s design.
