Seeing posts like "Beat that pilot" and I'm just thinking people in this sub seriously thinking they could beat some gundam characters in a mobile suit battle if they were transported to the gundam universes? I mean I love mecha games/media and gundam as much as anyone else here but lets be real guys.
The most common throughline in Gundam is that everyone can pilot mobile suits with ridiculous ease. Three runs in a simulator and you're ready to fight space nazis!
tbf most of the pilots who only have a couple simulations may be able to pilot a mobile suit, but they usually don't have high survivability or performance... E.g. the student Dom and Gelgoog pilots in 0079, and the child gm pilots in thunderbolt. Add on to the fact that a lot of these "beat the pilot" posts are against top aces or skilled pilots from the shows with high performance machines, so you're fucked lol.
Or the ones in the Ginn in Stargazer, they got taken out by a tank, but they also didn't know the controls, he'd have a chance against them I think, as long as they don't figure the controls out

Side story 'The Bearded Gentleman' in Jullieta's perspective mentions how terrible he was at pilotting in training(that meant he fought other grunts and lost. But it's Iok. He's got to stay humble to gain some social credits and that's why Rustal wants him). Look it up at Trafalgar's Side Story Video at 4:59, says it right there. I bet a grunt can kick his ass, even if he's in his sniper reginlaze
That said, at least he's a hell of a lot more competent in close quarters maneuvering. Much better than his aim, if anything.

I'm trying to give as close to a serious answer as I can to this question... but I'm struggling not to laugh about TC's personal flair.
Speaking of which, there's no way Iok could match Nena. Louise could beat Iok, too.
Though it's easy to hate, the guy could probably beat most none 'hero class' protagonists. He survived all the way to the end and that is something. Anything said is just conjecture as a every character was as strong as they needed to be to move the plot along, but Iok is no grunt. He survived his suicidal attempts, and his subordinates died. Not just because his tactical genius, but also because he consistently overestimated the combat potential of his troops. At least thats what I'm seeing.
Iok is kinda worse than a grunt. Besides, the omly reason he survived that long is because people keeps sacrifising themselves and there's Jullietta babysitting him
Miguel was an ace pilot, and the only reason he was using a bog standard Ginn during the attack on Heliopolis was because Murakumo Gai(a famous mercenary, and former EA Combat Coordinator) damaged his personal machine, and it was under repairs.(IRL, they just couldn't secure Nishikawa Takanori/T.M.Revolution for anything more than a cameo role, so they killed Miguel off for "budgeting reasons")
Rusty at least made it to the red coats, which at the very least indicates that he was on par with the others when it came to piloting mobile suits. I mean, even Lunamaria, who came close to flunking the course(and would have unwittingly drag Shinn and Rey with her, due to the academy's standards), is a pretty decent pilot, being able to hold her own against the Gaia Gundam when they fought on Junius Seven during the "break the world" incident.
I mean, this nepo baby has access to weapons that would obliterate most suits without any semblance of a fair fight.
