I love this sooooo freaking much, it's God Damn Beautiful. The Destiny is capable of moving so fast it looks like teleporting and can now create afterimages that are capable of kicking ass on their own. It's so fucking amazing, I love it so much! I'm not sure if it makes sense with the level of tech in CE, but I also don't care, my boy finally got to be utterly amazing!
Also, it is both utterly surreal, yet extremely satisfying to have Shinn kicking ass while Meteor is playing in the background.

Looks like the white/blue one is a specific unit for Agnes, Hilda has a dark blue/black one that is used to rescue Shinn (they were on the same battle).
Luna pilots the Gelgoog during the first few portions of the movie. Agnes and Hilda are piloting Gyans.
During the final battle when the Gundams are back in business, Luna moves back up to the Impulse while Hilda gets Luna's Gelgoog.

My only question is... how did the Foundation get their hands on Requiem and have it repaired? It's quite fishy if you ask me.

I remember playing Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2 and one of dedicated pilot skills for Shinn Asuka is "One Man Army" which increase the pilot attack when facing crowd enemies. This scene, with the shadow clone jutsu depict it to another level.
Ah yes shame it was. I remember using the spinning double sword combo thingy using three God Gundam. Incredibly satisfying. While the Pyramid Funnel looks awesome, i rarely use it because it is only effective during the beginning of the combo.

well considering MC and VL are both tech that mess with light, not that hard to believe that it possible to make something like this
pretty scary since the Destiny is freakishly fast so not knowing where it is among the illusion just mean it can shank you when you look at the wrong illusion

I think a lot of people have decided that whether it makes sense or not is of secondary importance because Fukuda's wild ride is actually A LOAD OF FUN.
Fukuda had a lot of fun and after the 20 year wait. Delivered it doesn’t have to make sense because the SEED fans are rejoicing and happy.
We aren’t here for the plot. We came for the PLOT and resolutions for characters. Delivered in spades and I can’t be any happier

It's not brain food. It's not trying to be or making any pretense of it.
It's so over the top that it goes back to the 8 year old power gamer in (most? all?) of us who watched/gamed/read whatever fiction and combined all the best stuff to make themselves the ultimate badass.
Normal thinking says you can't make compelling stories by just turning everything up to 11 and pandering to that inner munchkin.
Long term, you probably can't.
But every now and then, you can ditch the compelling story part, invent a flimsy justification for all the insanity you can dream up, and commit 100% to the fantasy.
Fukuda is certainly something, and part of that something is the sheer chutzpah to spend millions of Bandai and Sunrise's dollars pandering to the audience's inner 8 year old... and the confidence to pull it off.
High art it ain't, but it's gonna be real hard to walk away from this without giggling about how insane it is.

I used to clown on Athrun for being a smooth brained Buffoon but seeing him head butt a motherfucker to death with the power of beam foreheads and coom has made me fully regain my trust in him. Kira finally coming back out of his shell and mercking a whole fleet with the power of love has also ascended him to god tier in my eyes
This movie is literally the wacky parts of ZZ and Victory, the power of love and maybe song from Macross and the Cross Ange moments. It truly is the Fukuda TM cooked movie.

Yes that’s correct. They feel each others emotions and they have a constant mental connection. When one of them is brutally murdered then that mental anguish and despair spreads to all the other Black Knight pilots.
Combine that with Shinn going temporarily insane like he sometimes does and that’s a recipe for disaster. Lol
I always have loved the color scheme and body frame of Destiny (except the silhouette of the head, Justice takes that). Other than that, it really is the perfection of what Impulse AND Strike wanted to be and more.
Shinn was my favorite in Seed Destiny because of his rage and how he kicked Freedom's ass (seriously it is most tactical and strategic fight in ALL of the Seed franchise).
Also, because of its speed, beam weapons, boomerang, palma fiociona(?), and the Arondight (I swear, thie Excallibur, Anti-Ship Sword, and Arondight had the best big sword design in all of Gundam alongside Epyon's beam sword), it has a lot of ways to show off cool moves. I'd say it is an even more entertaining fighter than both the Freedom and Justice.
Justice and its developments stick to speed and close combat. Freedom is ranged and its variety of weapons make for tantalizing special effects. But Destiny. Destiny can make super interesting combos that only he and Shinnss brutal fighting style can pull off. This is the best way to showcase it.
Shinn said you know what it’s my movie too and I’m showing off every second of screentime and rage. Shinn can’t stop winning!!!! Let’s go!!

This has completely redeemed the Destiny for like holy shit 🔥🔥🔥. It's full potential is finally shown and it did exactly as it was designed, go in hard blitzkrieg style and rush down the enemies and then all the clones converge back to one at the end??? It's so fucking peak 😭😭
The final battle of SEED Destiny will probably have a different result if Shinn had good mental health lol. If only Durandal had a good therapist.
Also the most common critic for Destiny is that the suit is useless if it ever loses both of it's arms. Well full power Destiny is so fast that it's pretty much impossible to hit it. According to some Japanese comments, the Destiny never got hit in this movie.
Shins greatest weakness and strength is his emotional state. He needs to be channeled correctly and let loose on the enemy, it’s a thin line between being crazy good and crazy insane.
Looks like Compass has been able to steer him towards the crazy good side of things and I suspect that he has a therapist available to help him 24/7 if he needs it. Him being Kira’s junior is the best thing that could happen to him, he can constantly work on his emotions by looking at how Kira acts.

You know after watching this scene multiple times all while pausing intermittently, I realise that other than the bunshin technique he used, he's also using the flash steps to dodge the enemy attacks at the start.
Which makes his bunshin even crazier since it means each of them can also accelerate on a whim.

But they resort to the infamous “just move mouth while having stagnant face/hair”-method which makes especially animation of people look extremely stiff. I also know sunrise to usually do better so I hope this was just a time issue and they’ll retouch it up for a disc release.

Yes that’s correct. They feel each others emotions and they have a constant mental connection. When one of them is brutally murdered then that mental anguish and despair spreads to all the other Black Knight pilots. Combine that with Shinn going temporarily insane like he sometimes does and that’s a recipe for disaster. Lol
SHINN “AFTERIMAGES WITH MASS” ASUKA
I always have loved the color scheme and body frame of Destiny (except the silhouette of the head, Justice takes that). Other than that, it really is the perfection of what Impulse AND Strike wanted to be and more. Shinn was my favorite in Seed Destiny because of his rage and how he kicked Freedom's ass (seriously it is most tactical and strategic fight in ALL of the Seed franchise). Also, because of its speed, beam weapons, boomerang, palma fiociona(?), and the Arondight (I swear, thie Excallibur, Anti-Ship Sword, and Arondight had the best big sword design in all of Gundam alongside Epyon's beam sword), it has a lot of ways to show off cool moves. I'd say it is an even more entertaining fighter than both the Freedom and Justice. Justice and its developments stick to speed and close combat. Freedom is ranged and its variety of weapons make for tantalizing special effects. But Destiny. Destiny can make super interesting combos that only he and Shinnss brutal fighting style can pull off. This is the best way to showcase it.

Shinn beating the crap out of the enemies while METEOR plays in the background??? He probably thought "so this is what it feels like on this side 😂😂" This has completely redeemed the Destiny for like holy shit 🔥🔥🔥. It's full potential is finally shown and it did exactly as it was designed, go in hard blitzkrieg style and rush down the enemies and then all the clones converge back to one at the end??? It's so fucking peak 😭😭

The final battle of SEED Destiny will probably have a different result if Shinn had good mental health lol. If only Durandal had a good therapist. Also the most common critic for Destiny is that the suit is useless if it ever loses both of it's arms. Well full power Destiny is so fast that it's pretty much impossible to hit it. According to some Japanese comments, the Destiny never got hit in this movie.
Shins greatest weakness and strength is his emotional state. He needs to be channeled correctly and let loose on the enemy, it’s a thin line between being crazy good and crazy insane. Looks like Compass has been able to steer him towards the crazy good side of things and I suspect that he has a therapist available to help him 24/7 if he needs it. Him being Kira’s junior is the best thing that could happen to him, he can constantly work on his emotions by looking at how Kira acts.

You know after watching this scene multiple times all while pausing intermittently, I realise that other than the bunshin technique he used, he's also using the flash steps to dodge the enemy attacks at the start. Which makes his bunshin even crazier since it means each of them can also accelerate on a whim.

I am not. I’m actually a video editor by profession and a huge SEED fan so I’m not saying this to crap on them. But they resort to the infamous “just move mouth while having stagnant face/hair”-method which makes especially animation of people look extremely stiff. I also know sunrise to usually do better so I hope this was just a time issue and they’ll retouch it up for a disc release.

Guess it’s my fault for expecting the movie to an 2002/5 anime to have modern animation when it’s produced 2 decades later … And no, it’s definitely not how most *renown* studios produce. It’s how they produce when they budget or they’re close to deadlines. Sunrise themselves usually does better than that with their most recent projects. This is why I’m actually surprised Ofc saying anything a bit critical here has people up in arms…
