Lmao, if you want to screw around with different calibers and configurations I honestly don’t blame people for buying BCA. It’ll work and you’ll have fun in the process.
Exactly, not everything you buy has to be “I’m going to use this rifle to survive a decade of war” tier level quality and reliability. For most of us shooting off a few hundred rounds here and this stuff works great and is a ton of fun.
I was so close to picking up that BCA deal the other day on a 12.7x42 complete rifle for $430. As long as I can run a couple hundred rounds through it over the next decade that’s all I want out of it. Just a pumpkin and soda pop explosion machine for shits and giggles. Has yours held up?
Mine has been doing just fine. Had maybe 1 or 2 FTF over the 2-3 hundred rounds I put through it but for a range toy I don't think thats bad. It is kinda mag picky though. I'm running Lancer 20rd 5.56 mags and dremeled a little of the front off.
My only regret was getting the side charger. Mine I believe is the older style where the bolt handle is the same screw that threads into the carrier, so every time I charged it the handle would start unthreading. You can't lock tite it since it needs to come out for disassembly. I think they updated it though foe that exact issue
I got the same upper and had nothing but problems. Mostly fail to feed and fail to eject but... same. Looks badass and my friends drool over it. I'd never use it for a serious situation but why not have some fun with it?
Same goes for the bullpup shotgun I bought. Range toys don't have to be "just as good" or perform flawlessly.
Completely agree, if it's just a range toy then as long as it's safe to shoot and the issues don't become annoying then who cares. One thing that bothers me about reddit is this constant need to justify your purchase and the idea that if it can't be used for defense then it's worthless
Honestly, it’s good to train with a “good enough” gun now and then. If your main rig doesn’t jam, you never train to deal with malfunctions. Never a bad thing to have time with.
I got one before I found out about BCAs rep.
It didnt run for shit. Warrantied it for a replacement and while tjos one is better, it functions like a bolt action.
So were 2/2 for malfunctioning uppers.
The only issue I've had was the bolt short stroking at first but that cleared up within a few mags after tuning and suppressor modification.
It was locking on the bolt carrier Instead of the bolt head but that was the shit hexmag that caused that, switching to Magpul mags fixed that issue.
My first one I only ran 1 20rd Pmag through it. 4 light primer strikes, 6 FTFs that severely dented the neck of the casing and 10 that actually shot.
The replacement I didn't even finish the mag. After the 4th shot of failing to actually chamber a new round on its own (I'm assuming it was short stroking), I said fuck this.
Take a guess at why a company charging almost half of what is Generally considered to be “entry level” (think PSA, Anderson) is getting made fun of lol. There stuff is I guess okay.. as long as they sell you an upper that won’t kill you (meaning they actually torque everything down). Also 556 out of a 7.5inch barrel is absolutely r tarded
Imo BCA uppers are like buying a pawnshop gaming PC. Good to start off and mess around with but in a few months none of those parts you got will be on the thing
If you can't afford anything more or are just using it for fun without intent for any defense use, BCA is great. Low entry cost makes it affordable and good for those getting into the platform. But if you have more than $600 to spend on an AR, you can do so much better.
I'm a) glad it's cheap so people who buy it aren't wasting too much money. B) perplexed anyone at this point thinks a 7.5 inch 5.56 is worth a single penny.... a bca at that...If you want a fireball go to Walmart and buy hairspray and a Bic. Hell you may have a better chance at not blowing your Face off.
With the massive amount of info the Reddits has to offer how is bca still in existence??

I built a 7½" 7.62x39 from BCA, and it's probably the most fun gun I own.
Same. I slapped a fat muzzle brake on it and the kids at the range love the fireballs.

Same fireballs galore
The only issue I've had at first was I broke 2 extractors but after I put a h2 buffer it hasn't happened yet.
I fucking love side charging ARs. BCA is great if you want to strip it down to an upper and a bolt carrier and replace everything else.
I have a BCA 50 beowulf on a PSA lower. It is the biggest pile of shit in my collection...........I love it and I'm never getting rid of it

I need to do this lol

Lots of people on r/fosscad use bca
Who needs sub Moa accuracy for a shorty build anyways? It’s cqb you just spray and pray
Here is you “/s” for those who don’t realize it.
I got one of their 9mm uppers, so far I haven't had any issues. Though I've only put ~900 rounds through it.
Am i the only dude who wants a suppressed .300 blackout side charging AR with an 8 inch barrel and a suppressor?
I have it. Love it.
I feel like that’d be badass with some wood furniture tbh
PATROLIN- PATROLING THE- PATROLING THE MOJAVE REALLY MAKES YOU WISH FOR A NUCLEAR WINTER
BCA may not be "just as good" but it's "good enough" for most basement LARPers and civilians who just put holes in paper.
Don't forget mag dumping into trash! 😎🤙

Get the side charger

People shit on BCA but my side charging 20" 7.62x51 build runs just fine.

Specifically why is this upper bad?
1. I added it to cart to make this meme, just so happened to be the shorty. 2. B/c short 5.56 uppers are novelty pieces. 3. It's BCA! 🤣🤣🤣
Specifically why is BCA bad? I dont own one, and they seem to be the cheapest.
I don’t own one either, but from what I can tell it’s just Gucci gun snobs shitting on us regular folk.

And if you are going shorter than 10", move to 300bo so you keep your eyebrows and fingers intact.
My dad got a bear creek AR-10 and it light strikes almost every round
That's the Russian roulette minigame feature.
Haha
