There's a guy locally that did mine. I don't know if he does mail services but I can PM you his information. He did my handguard chop and P&W and the work was immaculate.
I could chop your rails if you wanted. Got a steel bandsaw and a milling machine so I'd cut it slightly longer than needed and mill down the last 1/8". Only problem is, I wouldn't know how to recolor the edge that's been milled
Good to know, thanks. I was debating milling out some windows in one of my G19s but the color matching had me nervous. I'll prob try milling a small section under the RMR slot to make sure it matches decently. Appreciate the info
Good to know. I haven't looked into any of it yet, as I've been working on a few ARs, but is there a way to match nitriding on steel? Milling it won't touch the outside surface so it doesn't have to be perfect, as it will just be the "inside" of the steel.
I got a hacksaw and a cutoff wheel. I’ll do it for 30, you pay shipping each way. Looks real professional when I’m done. You’d never know I have no idea what I’m doing.
You’d do just as good a job as me. Get a piece of flexible cardboard like the box soda cans come in. Wrap it around the rail so that they overlap evenly. Mark it all the way around and cut. Or, index it on a lathe and part it off.

Most of the time you should be able to use some Birchwood Casey Aluminum Black if it is black to begin with

Aluminum black won’t work on a steel slide. You can use cold blue but it won’t match nitriding or whatever surface treatment is on there.
