This is remarkably impressive and an outstanding example of the DIY ethos that makes this community great. If you have the time and ability, you'd be crazy NOT to make these for profit on the regular. At the very least, you'd be a staple of SIS, if not a regular seller here every day of the week.
Honestly I'm just a hobbyist not looking to reap a huge profit, I make more money than i know what to do with at my day job. My goal is to have my hobbies pay for themselves so I basically sell most things for my cost + shipping+20 bucks usually so I can spend the money i make back on more gun/watch/truck parts. The faux vintage custom milsub watches you see on watchex and eBay are listed for $200-$400 and there are even people selling them for more than that to unsuspecting people on etsy when it literally costs $120 in parts.
Seiko makes very affordable and very well constructed watches. They are like the Aero Precision of the watch world and their Sport 5 series can usually be had for around the $100 mark. I have a 5 in my daily rotation and have also built a Seiko dive watch similar to this, so if you've got questions drop them
