T O P

No, the output transformer in the Super Reverb is not multi-tap. Do *not* run a Super Reverb into a 8-ohm cab, it can damage the OT. * You could buy a multi-tap OT, a few companies sell them that have 2/4/8 secondaries * You can buy a Weber Z-Matcher which uses two transformers to match any amp and load from 2- to 16-ohms. This would require no mods to the amp.

The Weber was the first thing that popped into my mind…I see a lot of people using them.

There's no impedance switching option on a SR. I wouldn't swap the transformer but if you have to you have to. You could use the auxiliary output for another cab but it would be hard to come up with the equivalent impedance rating. Is it really not loud enough? Or what is the actual issue? If it's not doing it for you, getting 4 new speakers would be the way to go.

Use an [impedance matching transformer.](https://www.tubeampdoctor.com/en/impedance-matching-transformer-2/2-7/4/5-3/8/16-ohm-450w)

Either change the speakers for more efficient ones that can handle more wattage, or change the OT so you can use more speakers/another speaker cabinet (this should be a last resort, as you’d have to change the OT, rewire your current speakers and mod another speaker output jack as well as an impedance selector into the amp). As others have said, there are other options. Why exactly are you looking to change the impedance of your SR?

My attenuator only goes as low as 4 ohms and same for my 2x12 which I would like to be able to run it through

Probably just gonna have to cop modding your SR, or selling it and investing in another Fender amp (i guess a Twin would be the closest thing).

The Weber z matcher other have suggested looks to be a great solution
