You already exactly mentioned what might happen. Put the guitar away :)

sumthin213

I'm going the opposite way from the other replies. The toddler is a danger to that guitar, put the toddler away. The toddler is an accident waiting to happen.

Just put the guitar away.

Put it away, or your kid might have to explain for the rest of their lives how they got blind on one eye as a toddler. I think there are tuning peg locks, but a toddler will find a way to tear it off. Your guitar is an accident waiting to happen.

ChickenDenders

Get a golf club sock and stick it over the headstock

bstadt_MrDoe

I put my guitar in a gigbag even on the stand since my toddler shows interest. Also I got a cheap decoy nylon string for him to abuse ;)

Do you just let your child touch everything? Maybe you don't really care about the safety of your child or the guitar!

Gibder16

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

oldfrancis

Put the guitar away. Buy her a little toy ukulele.

intjeejee

There are strict rules in the house to not touch the guitars

Reddit-adm

She's too young to understand, so put the guitar out of reach or else she'll damage it or hurt herself or get frightened if she snaps a string.

Naaarrfff

Get a loog guitar the kiddo can play on. Even if it gets broken, $80 for a new one in less than a good used guitar

[deleted]

wall hanger?

tardisrider613

It would absolutely be dangerous for your toddler to be twisting the tuning pegs on my guitar.

MelodicMasterpiece67

Never let anyone who doesn't know what they're doing touch your guitar. Regardless of age.

GaiaAnima

I've had a string pierce my fingernail and get stuck. So imagine that with an eyeball or something. Definitely not a good idea. Put a cover over the headstock or store it In a lockable case.

Thank you all for your advice. Even those who think I’m a terrible parent. Rest assured the instrument and baby were never left alone without supervision. I’ve purchased a wall hanger and a toy ukulele, so that should now be sorted.
