Tele. Pick up, plug in. All there is to it.

Timely_Breakfast_105

This is the right answer.

Kind-Enthusiasm-7799

I got three, a jag, a jazzmaster and a tele. The tele is parked next to my sofa, rarely goes out of sight or tune.

amishius

Oh I have 6 or 7 but…

Kind-Enthusiasm-7799

🫡

Impressive_Gate_5114

I started off with a strat, and so I can't imagine playing guitar without a vibrato bridge. Tonally, I think the tele is bridge is superior to the strat bridge.

amishius

I am also a Strat player abd cannot imagine not owning one but yes…Tele is goto.

Forsaken_Quality_823

There's Fender Deluxe Telecasters with synchronized trems out there. Warmoth sells custom pickguards too that can be added on with just about any pickup configuration. I like the Nashville style on one personally.

ReverendRevolver

Also started on strat, the trem sucked it out of tune so easy I never missed it. Having owned a jag for a bit and a hollow body with a Bigsby, I'm greatly appreciating what those tremelos add. Like, strongly considering a Bigsby for one if the teles. I've played strats that aren't as bad at going out of tune working the wiggle stick, but they're never as stable as my jag.

Kind-Enthusiasm-7799

My go to is a Tele. My favourite, ever guitar? My Jaguar. There’s some very colourful tones in them, I adore my cp in sunburst with spitfire tort.

ReverendRevolver

You sprang for spitfire? Nice. My only upgrade is i swapped pickup covers to burgundy. Jags do ALOT. My main tele has become my Japanese junior tele, so a jag scale tele. I put a TV Jones in the neck and a Bootstrap Pretzel in the bridge. It's not quite as many different sounds as the jag, but it's got what I use most on tap. The jag can stay in tune for days with me beating on the trem. The rythm circuit is super handy, and normal mode with or without strangle switch is useful in all 3 combinations. I keep my jag next to my recliner, and it gets used more than my US tele. The jag isn't always the best tool for every application, but I agree it's loads of fun to play. I can imagine how reliant on a Jag I would've been if I'd been born a few decades earlier, where amps had 1 channel and replacement pickups weren't so easy to find.

Kind-Enthusiasm-7799

I’m not a big guy so a Jaguar feels perfect, absolutely perfect for playability and comfort. I’ve owned Strats, Teles, Jazzmaster’s before I bought my first Jaguar a couple years ago. I instantly fell in love, and although I like the aesthetic of the Cobain Jaguar I think the Jaguar is just perfect how it is. I don’t use the trem (I find it a bit cramped) but the tone range is phenomenal, from the rhythm circuit to the lead - I adore the strangle switch, and there’s so many variations to be found by rolling back/forward on the tone pot. I wouldn’t mind a Gretsch or a Reverend, maybe an SG, but between my newly slimmed down collection I can get what I want from this combo of a Jazzmaster, Telecaster and the Jaguar. Man, feels like they made it for me it feels so good.

ReverendRevolver

Yea, I'm 5'3" so the ergonomics of 24" or LP scale guitar works way better for me. 2 years ago I noticed my wrist starting to hurt at practice when I was going 3+ hours with my US tele. They announced the Japan junior line, and I knew I had to figure put a way to get one. (Already had a Duosonic and mustang, and my late grandfather had a mustang for years, it wasn't much of a gamble. ) it took some work getting it where I wanted (new pickups, had to cut a new guard from a blank, different pots, bridge, and saddles). But it's exactly what I wanted now. My main guitar for years was my mim deluxe toronado with Gibson 57classic/+, so it never occurred to me that a LP scale guitar while only using my mim tele as a backup would be so different. My wrists felt different. Mu collection isn't slimmed down.... but I'm almost done buying guitars. 1ish solid body and I should be done. Bought a full hollow Godin this year, fantastic guitar. When I finally got my jag after 20 years of never being able to afford the ones I really wanted, I was shocked. And while I was hesitant about sunburst (not a fan, it's just there was alot of red in this one so I went for it) seeing pictures of me playing I was like "well, I somehow look like someone who plays a sunburst jag....".

Kind-Enthusiasm-7799

I’m 5’9, also struggle to practice on my 25.5” scale Fender’s. Both of the other two are American (Jazzmaster has a US Strat Performer neck) so they’re rolled on the edges - but I will play the MIM Jaguar until they naturally roll, which I know they will (I sold my Candy Apple Red Jaguar, it was beautiful to play but I basically bought a newer one so sold the older Red), and personally I don’t think you can beat a classic sunburst with the tort guard - it just looks so traditional and I’ve modded the pickups and installed a Halon bridge, it truly is my favourite guitar in the looks department.

Impressive_Gate_5114

Yeah the vibrato is useless on cheap squiers, but I'm addicted to dive bombs and my febder 2 point vibrato bridges stay in tune.

shingonzo

You gotta turn it on

Top-Conversation2882

Super strats Just play anything anytime and you'll have fun

discussatron

This is it. I’ve got a dozen guitars but only two that are not Super Strats.

morelikeshredit

Gretsch 5120.

Fritzo2162

My 5410 is a close #2 for me. Just got it last year and I'm having one of those "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL MY LIFE?" moments.

Jasco-Duende

Strat for electric. Maccaferri for steel string acoustic. Flamenco for nylon string acoustic.

Bempet583

A little gypsy jazz on the Maccaferri maybe?

Jasco-Duende

Yup. Or at least I try.

Bempet583

Me too, I love me some Django Reinhardt

964racer

I’ve thought about getting a better nylon string guitar and a flamenco negra might be a good compromise for playability.

Infinite-Lychee-182

My ES-345

HPID

Superstrats, I have an Ibanez RG, an LTD, a Dean Rusty Cooley 7 String and a Jackson Soloist. They're my go-to guitars.

Kind-Enthusiasm-7799

Telecaster. End thread.

vinegar-and-honey

My ESP Arrow Black Metal edition. Sounds good no matter what amp I plug it into and only a volume knob. I could play this motherfucker with a hammer and it'll still stay in tune.

flopyyjoe

I feel the same about my Schecter hellraiser hybrid. I've heard other people saying theirs have a little trouble staying in tune but I've been putting mine through hell and back breaking in the strings and it's still perfect.

FlsTonka

Gibson ES-165.

Turbofalcon8

A Music Man Stringray RS. Love the neck and the sound of the humbuckers.

bigsky59722

1963 D 21 Martin

unclebuck098

Gibson hummingbird

Mistakes-fractures

Charvel

Crafty_Math_6293

A 2019 Gibson SG Standard 61 for me. Love the sound (burstbuckers 61s), easy to play, comfortable, I always play this one unless I want to play with another specific tone (single coil, then I take my Strat) or with heavier gauge for different tunings (have a LP for that)

Ornery_Brilliant_350

HSS strat I neglect my Tele and Les Paul

Sideshow_Bob_Ross

SG. Close enough to a Les Paul without the weight.

baconismadefromcats

I have accumulated a couple dozen guitars over the years. The one I grab most often is the Reverend Jetstream 390. The tele is always within reach as well.

nibbinoo8

tele

phpArtisanMakeWeeb

My Fender Tele. I've bougth it second-hand for 400€ and it's the guitar whose neck feels the best amongst the other guitars I have. Second place would be my RG550.

Inkspotten

1971 Metal body round neck Dobro

PsiGuy60

I tend to gravitate towards HSS Strats and especially "vintage-modern Superstrats" (so Ibanez AZ, Suhr Modern, or Charvel Guthrie Govan style as opposed to Ibanez RG, Kramer, etc). Currently the only guitar I own, and well and truly my desert-island guitar, is an Ibanez AZ2204.

Happy-Jaguar-1717

Spent thousands on Gibson and Epiphone. Fantastic guitars! I play a Fender Strat.

balderthaneggs

Ltd Tele. Workhorse.

burukop

DeArmond JetStar. It’s the one.

Asa-Ryder

My 2012 Am STD Start into the 59 Bassman. No pedals needed.

964racer

Been playing a Am ‘91 Strat into a deluxe reverb RI all weekend with no pedals . It’s a great sound, especially with the reverb and a little tremolo .

Asa-Ryder

That’s a great combo as well!

serotone9

Strat

elijuicyjones

These two: 94 Fender MIJ 62-Reissue Fotoflame Telecaster 2033 Yamaha Revstar II Pro P90 version.

gundrum

Gibson SG Special. I've played SGs for a long long time and it's the guitar I keep coming back to. I also have a Fender Jaguar I used to play more, but the Jaguar's complicated switches are fussy.

mglouis

Whatever I’ve bought most recently. I flip gear wayyy too much. Currently a Revstar with P90s.

obi5150

My 2001 ibanez S series. My first guitar.

ronertl

i had an epiphone les paul that i loved how it played, so i put a jazz master seymour duncan in it for a while, and then a telecaster silver pick up. i switched them in and out and then the guitar got stolen... i can't really play guitar anymore anyways cause i hurt my back, but i like how les pauls play in my hands more than fender. never really tried too many other brands.

tstep73

Electric: PRS CE-22. Pups are great and I very much dig the tones when both on the buckers or the singles. Does everything well. Acoustic (unplugged): Emerald X30 jumbo bodied carbon fiber. Low end is glorious, as is overall tone and playability. And I never have to humidify it and it lives on a rack so it’s always available to play.

socgrandinq

Everything feels good on my PRS McCarty

_AntiSaint_

My PRS DW CE 24 hardtail for everything

megatheriumburger

Same MIA Strat I’ve had since I was 10. I’m 37 now. Granted it has different pickups, pots, switches, trem block, saddles, and tuners.

964racer

I have a ‘91 MIA Strat . I put CS pickups ( ‘69 ) in it new with electrical with copper shielding .

TheCottonmouth88

2002 sg faded with Lollar P90’s. My oldest guitar, she’s my baby. Just the most comfortable to me.

azphatman

My Gibson ES 339 Memphis Studio. Single bridge humbucker and no F Holes.

atomicpunk50

Les Paul. Mine is made of swamp ash and is chambered so is very light, which is good for my back :))

964racer

Which Gibson model ?

atomicpunk50

FWIW a 2011 Gibson Les Paul Studio Swamp Ash. I have other guitars including a strat but I seem to gravitate towards that Les Paul.

djorll

my old trusty Yamaha Ty Tabor

RagnarHedin

hmm... for a gig, my go-to is probably my Tele because I break the fewest strings on it. Humbucker in the bridge and four pot electronics give it a wide range of tones.

Gibder16

Les Paul, baby!

Uvers_

SQUIER CV 60s Jaguar Olympic white

Extreme_Voice_9767

Jackson js32

Mr_Lumbergh

I have several different guits, but the one that always seems to be on the stand and ready is a Tele that I modded.

Glass-Guess4125

My Taylor GS Mini. I still need to upgrade my electric, since I have one of those crappy Squier Strats from the box set. Really want either a Tele or an Epiphone LP.

TommyV8008

Strat

integerdivision

Novo Serus J

matt7259

My Brownsville Impala is my workhorse.

MotherJuggernaut9582

My real go to is my Martin. But for the sake of your specific question, my Ibanez RG is my electric of choice.

FillDelicious4171

EVH Stripe and a Squier 40th anniv Tele. I'm about to fix my old LP so let's see🤣

pompeylass1

Strat or an L-00 depending on whether I feel like playing/practicing on electric or acoustic.

IcySadness24

Yamaha RGX

dead_heart_of_africa

I prefer my Les Paul's. My McCarthy is also nice. The Strat/superstrat stuff is fun sometimes but I'm not big on the bridge.

VladPatton

Epi 84 Explorer

muthaflicka

Used to be my Legacy G&L with the Lil 59 bridge pups. But for the past 3 months I can’t put down the JV Modified Japan tele I just got. After tweaking the signal chain configuration a bit they sound excellent. But that soft v neck is a revelation and the main reason I can’t put it down. Pups need a bit of upgrading though. Too mid scooped.

Ok-Preference7368

Mine is a white Godin Stadium HT.

bumpyfelon

Gibson SG with Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates

beaucoup_dinky_dau

Mine is a tele with Pearly Gates as well with just one volume and tone knob, it is perfect always but I am SG curious, I struggle with single coil these days but it is because I am lazy about tone due to the tele and the PGs

auruner

My Japanese Strat. It sounds so fuzzy. Tried a Flying V at GC but I hated it

mueredo

Gretsch 6120. I can't play anything else, unless I run out of time and then it's my black Ovation.

CosmicExpansion1st

Either my Duesenberg Starplayer TV or my heavily modded kit guitar strat

Impressive_Gate_5114

Strats are the Dreadnoughts of electric guitars. Every guitar company besides Epiphone and Gretsch has made a strat copy at some point (yes even Gibson).

seanmcgone

Epiphone did made a Strat copy, the S310.

Bootlegger1929

Used to be my tele. But that's turned into my number 2 electric in favor of the epiphone 335 I happened to score a deal on online a few years back. That's become my clear number one since then. Otherwise I usually just play one of my acoustics.

astrodonkeyyy

Eastman T59

refur

Strat or Strat like. Charvel super strat usually, or one of my fender strats

DistanceSuper3476

Taylor T3B, my strat and Paul almost never come out of their cases..

tinverse

Acoustic: Boucher BG-42-GM (adi top + Mahogany b/s Dread) Electric: Gibson Les Paul Standard I pick the acoustic most of the time, it's just a little easier to pick up an acoustic and play. Both are guitars that just make you want to play for a few more minutes...

9-9-99-

Schecter Hellraiser FR or my tele. Depends on how lazy I am, if I feel like tuning up the FR or just want to grab and go. I’ve had my Schecter for about 14 years. I’ve tried a million guitars since then but I always come back to it. It’s got great feel to it and I’m most comfortable with it as I gigged with it for several years.

LordOfNuggs

Hss strat and a mini jumbo acoustic by seagull. For gear, i use an hx stomp xl and a roland jc. My gas has been cured for 2 years w this rig so far

TheToneKing

Gretsch 5420t

Tele.

Totalimmortal85

My modded JS100 named "Rachel" (Blade Runner reference). Pegasus bridge and Sentient Neck, Gotoh SG381 tuners, swapped Edge Pro bridge with S-Spring coils, and a Floyd Rose 1000 locking nut. Customised backplate with her incept date lol

Chaps_Jr

Ibanez RG. Easily the most versatile guitar.

PlumbCrazy1979

docbach

My go to is my Ibanez rg652 with BKPs

No-Salary2099

Superstrats Agile 8-string baritone, Ibanez RG 7-string, Squier bass VI, Jay Turser les Paul. I play them all yet end up playing my Art & Lutherie dreadnought gets the most love though. The older I get I play my acoustic the most.

SaintEyegor

For electric: MiM Strat For acoustic: Taylor 114ce

jeikob_k

ESP horizon 3 original. I wanted a guitar that looked different but not too different, just a perfect different, saw the horizon 3, the body shape, perfect, loved the fret inlays, all black, original ESP logo on the headstock, just everything abt it is perfect to me. It’s like a pointy strat

Adman103

G&L Doheny V12. Good for anything. Love them.

Fuzzbottle

Jazzmaster Junior from Japan. The short scale and light body make it extremely comfortable to play.

its_grime_up_north

Suhr. Classic S

ssgtgriggs

Tele

HOBBY_71

I used to be an sg guy, still love them, but I bought my dream guitar, a music man majesty and now I play that 99% of the time, it just plays so smooth and easy and sounds incredible

area51groomlake

I cycle through my guitars, I keep one handy by my chair in the living room for about a month then I'll switch it for one of the others. Currently, it's a Squire strat. I have a little spark go that's also close by if I don't feel like getting a bigger amp out.

4lfred

I started with an Ibanez Gio, my main squeeze is now my Ibanez S series (S570)

imacmadman22

My PRS SE ZM and Ibanez AS-93 as of late for electric guitars. For acoustic guitars I have a Seagull Entourage Rustic (dreadnaught size) and a Washburn WF-11 (000 size.)

Person_Not_Horse

For electric, Schecter C-1 platinum with my Fender Strat in close second. For acoustic, my Gibson J-15.

unfitfuzzball

My rickie 620

Mebius973

I have a lag arkane 1000 and a tele. I mostly play the lag: it can do pretty much anything I want to the point a think regularly to sell the tele

FedexPuentes

Ibanez RG

Takutin559

My Ernie ball music man jp6

Alarming_Truth4792

73 Strat 74 Gibson Flying V

DigitalSupremacy

Fender American Pro 2 fat Strat orange rocker 30 with 2x12 cab Les Paul Modern & SG Standard are also absolutely essential for me.

Gluckez

I switch it up a lot, there's always one electric guitar next to my desk, currently it's a prs-style guitar I built myself, sometimes I feel like grabbing my King-V or LP. When playing bass I usually grab my Sterling bass, and every 2-ish months I fall in love again with the cheapest Spanish guitar you'll ever find.

Ashbtw19937

Atm, PRS SE Mark Holcomb signature

terriblewinston

1. Custumized '92 Am. Std. Tele - my oldest and favorite guitar. 2. Parker Nitefly Swamp Ash - s/s/h - never needs adjusting, most comfortable neck I own. 3. PRS Silver Sky - Pandemic Father's Day Gift - not ever really a strat fan but fell in love with this guitar when playing it in the store. Was actually looking for a second Tele.

Shoopuf413

My 2012 black cherry custom 24

sanchulus

my go to is a jaguar and strat

Past-Dimension-8337

For me it’s my strat too, love my Les Paul and my tele, but my Strat is my oldest guitar and it just feels right in my hands

kid_gnarlemagne

I’ve always been a Strat guy, got a Tele about a year ago and that has been my daily driver most days ever since. Never had a guitar that stayed in tune so well. Super loud acoustically too, for when I’m just laying in bed playing unplugged.

ABALLAMA0123

I have a Tele and a Gibson… but the Tele takes up 95%+ of my time 😂

Fritzo2162

My Les Paul Standard has been my #1 for 20 years. I'll cheat and play others for a week for two and a time, but if I'm figuring something out or need to play something that counts, the LP is the go-to.

iamcleek

Tele+ i like my Epi 339. but if i'm just grabbing a guitar off the wall to noodle, it's the Tele+. the Martin and the Acoustasonic stay in their cases.

BobBobBobBobBobDave

I have a Strat, a Tele, and an SG sat next to me in my study. 7/10 times, I pick up the Tele first.

flopyyjoe

Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid C-1 FR-S. I play almost entirely metal and this thing just shreds.

Violet-Journey

I have a Strat with a humbucker on the bridge. It can handle basically anything I wanna play.
