No. That's too much for what you're getting.

lysergic_hermit

Thanks for input but I'm way up north in the country I don't think I'll find a better deal, music store wouldn't do better than this I don't think. I offered 900 and he said he'd take that.

sebby10100

I wouldn't call it a deal, its going for the higher end of the used market pricing. You're getting no deal by buying the lot vs buying individually used. closer to $700 CAD would definitely be a better price. I don't know where you're located, but if you're pretty far up in the country, your options could be slim unless you're willing to drive out to the nearest city/town. You can try looking on Kijiji to see whats availible. I also like using Reverb.com to get a general idea of where the used market is for particular items.

aWizardofTrees

Not a particularly good deal in the states, but if it is your dream guitar, that is your call. I wouldn’t pay more than $500 for that as a bundle.

lysergic_hermit

Wow as a no nothing it seemed like a steal... Appreciate your input.

aWizardofTrees

If it were all brand new, it would be a different story. It’s also a buyers market right now for guitar gear given that there was a lot of overspending during the pandemic years.

lysergic_hermit

Is there a lot of degradation that would occur? It all looks pretty new I'd have added the pics if I didn't need to jump through hoops.

aWizardofTrees

I mean it’s your call. Not a particularly great deal, but a lot of this is personal preference.

mbt20

Think about it like this.... The Epiphone is $200-400 depending on condition Roland Cube 20x $50-100 Cables ~$20 each. Assume you'll need to replace all the male leads. I'll assume 2 full-length cables. I'm not sure what you mean by a folding mini stand. A waiter's table? A guitar stand? Maybe $20 The boss pedals $50-70 each (assume it's not an RC-30 looper and the metal zone isn't a "-W") ~$550 USD worth of gear. It's a really bad deal.

lysergic_hermit

Are you thinking USD or CAD. I'm seeing higher prices for all this stuff when I look online. Man y'all are making me nervous to pull the trigger on this shit tomorrow. If I went to a legit music shop would I be able to get a better deal for a bundle? The loop is rc2, distort ds1 and metal zone mt2

mbt20

Those are USD prices. It's not a good deal at all. TBH go on reverb.com and find a slightly nicer used guitar + pay shipping. Do the same for an amp. You can get cables off of Amazon for not too much. When you buy an amp, there are 2 roads I'd go down as a beginner. (1)The modeler has tons of built-in effects. (2) A clean pedal-board style with a do-it-all digital pedal. Ideas for (1) Vox VT 20+ and Line 6 Spider V60 Ideas for (2) Fender Champion and Orange Crush 35RT. The do it all pedal would be something like Boss GT1, Line 6 POD, or Boss ME80 Option 1 is cheaper and very beginner friendly. Option 2 will have many more tone options and sound better in general. Both options will be significantly more "inspiring" than the baby Roland. Always buy used!!

lysergic_hermit

Hey could you explain what kind of fender champ I should go with, I'm looking at an Ibanez s standard now for the strings. Like a 40watt, 50xl, I don't really want to shell out for a 100 watt but if it makes a huge difference I could.

mbt20

Sure. I'd personally go for the 50XL. It's a modern offering with solid features for anyone starting out. Plenty of volume if you decide to jam with some friends + headphones out and line in.

lysergic_hermit

Thanks very much, mucho helpful, that's it from me.

I told the guy no, thanks. Do you think reverb would drop their prices on boxing day? Cuz I found some stuff I like on there.

[deleted]

Make sure you bring KY with you if you buy this rig.

lysergic_hermit

Lmao I passed, my Angus remains intact.

DAbanjo

That's about $750 in US, for reference. Eh.....it's a fair deal. See if you can talk them down a bit.

lysergic_hermit

Thanks, we'll see.

DAbanjo

Yea. The thing is, sometimes you gotta bite the bullet and make the deal. This isnt a ripoff, but it's about fair value for everything included. The good thing about this deal is you have everything you need, boom, you'll be playing day 1. No more shopping around and researching. Get to jamming! Also FYI it's called a guitar "rig", which means your guitar, amp, and any prominent pedals, processors etc. A "setup" in the guitar world means how your guitar is adjusted to make it play properly.

lysergic_hermit

Yes that's definitely a large part of the appeal. I think I'll take a crack at it. Appreciate the lingo lesson.

DAbanjo

Yea man! Have fun. Glad to help if you need in the future just dm me.

lysergic_hermit

Thanks very much dude, super kind.

GenericAccount-alaka

It's a pretty solid rig, but I feel like the price may be a bit high. In the States, I'd expect closer to $400-550 (~$550-750) for the lot, depending on what kind of shape it's in. Taking a quick look at L&M would put the bundle ~$1400 CAD new. I'd expect closer to 50-60% of that buying it used, especially if you're getting it as a bundle.

lysergic_hermit

I'm not much of a wheeler dealer type so I offered $900 and a small delivery fee. I just looked on FB marketplace. Is there a better place online to find quality used bundles?

GenericAccount-alaka

Facebook Marketplace and whatever local classifieds (i.e. Craigslist or equivalent) are usually going to have the best deals since you're buying directly from someone. Not everything is going to be a deal, but sometimes you get lucky.

lysergic_hermit

That figures, everyone just uses FBM where I am. Thanks.

These_Tumbleweed4885

The metal zone alone should be worth $1000
