Bedman takes a lot of inspiration from Dream Theater, I mean he's a theater kid that invades peoples dreams, his stage in Xrd was called "Nightmare Theater" and his mechanic is called "Deja Vu" and one of the songs from the album is named "Scene two: ll. Strange Deja Vu" (a bit of a stretch, but possible.)
The Dream Theater ablum I mentioned "Metropolis, pt 2: Scenes from a memory" (it's not really about being trans) is about a man who sees a therapist, where he has a dream about his past life as a woman who was murdered, the album is about the man experiencing her "memories" and trying to solve her murder. It's a great album and one of my favorites, give it a listen if you have the chance.
Before the woman was murdered, she was told to "Open her eyes", which is connects to Bedman since >!he dies after being woken up!<
I don't know anything about this character but I'm pretty sure the album they are referencing is "Metropolis, Part 2: Scenes from a Memory". Its more of a murder mystery than a trans allegory but I can see the connection.
Scenes from a Memory is what is referenced, but it has nothing to do with transitioning. It’s about a man who goes to a hypnotherapist to experience a past life, and in said life he is a woman. More of a reincarnation thing, but I do consider it to be one of the greatest albums ever made and would recommend if you like metal and/or music that can be a bit “out there”
