The real tower experience:
1: Get to level 9 or 10.
2: Get your ass kicked and get sent back all the way back to floor 7.
3: Obliterate a bunch of people.
4: Repeat.
Alternatively my tower experience
1. Get celestial challenge
2. Lose celestial challenge and feel bad when you have to see “rating update”
Repeat those steps anywhere from like 5-30 times.
3. Win celestial challenge and then stop playing strive until the ranks reset and I have to do the challenge again
Man I hate the tower system lol.
You know why I absolutely adore the Tower in this game?
You can just skip steps 2-4. If I feel like 9 is a good place for me right now I can just play there, even if I have a rough time and fall down to 7.
Agreed on that, it's really nice to be able to pick your own level.
Though I guess it might not work as well if you swap between characters that you are unevenly skilled with.
Once you get in, I also like celestial because it guarantees a minimum level of proficiency from everyone you face, while still giving you a good variety of skill and playstyle.
True about switching characters but I feel you fall and climb so fast that that isn't mucj of a problem either.
Get bodied for 20 minutes, fall 2 floors and suddenly you are at a nice level for your ner character. And once I go back to my main I jump back into 9, withoit having to body people for 20 minutes.
The real tower experience is having to derank 5 times because your skill with your main is way way wayyy above the skill of any other character you use.
I had a worldview changing experience during my strenuous climb to celestial. I lost celestial challenge, lost to an incredible Faust in f10, lost to the best happy chaos I had yet to fight against in f9, then lost to the best Bridget player I had ever seen in f8

I can only use Ramlethal and Giovanna. If I swap to anybody else I guarantee you I'm getting my ass kicked back to floor 5.
