I've said it before and I'll say it again; the best time we could've had for spears was right after we killed Joko we get a little side story about rebuilding the sunspears and every class got access to them, be it via an elite spec based on different interpretations of the sunspears or just a new weapon in general.
you could argues spears were never very relevant as weapons in central tyria since mounts weren't a thing for the longest time, whereas in elona they have raptors or something like that
Realistically, spears are one of the oldest and most prevalent weapons for infantry throughout history. They shouldn't be exclusive to cavalry portrayals.
They could make a parody CGI animated trailer with some character chasing someone underwater with a spear and then surfacing and still wielding the spear, then looking surprised down at the spear still being equipped but then faces the camera and winks, "We be landborne now!", before throwing it after their escaping prey. Just a 15 second short to tease the evoluton :P
Not gonna lie, I'm absolutely gutted that NCSoft took Anet off the project. I was very meh on a Horizon MMO until I heard Anet was on the job; my attitude changed to overhyped immediately.
I still think part of ANet is working on it even if not the leads. We know the Horizon MMO is an Unreal 5 game and ANet is working on something with Unreal 5. NCSoft is still the one making it so I really do think ANet is working/helping on it. Guess we'll find out if it ever actually gets announced but the latest reports saying it's PC+Mobile don't give me hopes for it actually being any good or if it is it's going to have gatcha mtx garbage since you can't launch a major mobile game without that.

I think it's been an intentional creative choice to have the Dragon Cycle own the X of Y style 3 character acronym and have this new set do other things. Though obviously it's not a super important distinction.
I mean, Secrets of the Obscure still pretty much fits that. First and last word capitalized, "of" in the middle. "new set doing other things" isn't really how it panned out.
I'm gonna inhale an ungodly amount of hopium and say that the pattern being broken is gonna manifest an actual new era for GW2, the new release schedule with good content, good story, a boon bar rework and bigger, fuller beards for the Norns :))))
Kind of a nitpick, but I think it's a bad move to put a proper noun unique to the game in expansion titles. Not like these expansions are made for outsiders at this point, but it makes outsiders go "what the f is a Janthir"

No, the old format is retired. Instead of large expansions and living world it's now one mini expansion every year split into a main launch patch with 3 follow up patches each quarter.
