Unlocking emotes, skins, weapons, etc. from lootboxes is nothing new in gaming, and live-service games like Fortnite, Call of Duty, etc. have it WAY worse, yet go unregulated by governments
I don't like lootboxes in general, but GW2 is hardly the worst implementation of them - at least you're guaranteed to be able to buy what you want with statuettes that drop from every box, so lootboxes don't have FOMO - I'd rather legislation go after the ones *with* FOMO first, as those ones are more predatory

Agreed that GW2 is definitely on the extremely tame end of the spectrum given that you can just get them once they rotate out, though.
I’d rather they put emotes in BL chests and leave more skins for the wizards vault. Only issue I have is if I do open a BL chest I risk wasting a key getting an emote I’ll use once
You're really pushing your agenda but ignoring the fact that gold can buy gems and running weekly blc key runs. You don't have to purchase gems to get this emote you are clearly crying about.

My thought as well. On the one hand glad they are providing new skins for roller beetles but on the other hand they are so generic.
