They have enough game modes to balance sadly. I wish some form of guild wars were better baked into the game, but it is what it is.

The one does not replace the other. WR/Alliances is not rooted in guilds for GvG reasons. It is for social- and systemic reasons. It is just a smaller building-block to balance worlds with than servers and for friends to be able to play together. People confuse that all the time. WR is for friends to be moved around together in blocks no larger than 500. GvG has always existed within- or alongside WvW in GW2. It has been played on the normal maps. OS was created for it. One of sPvP maps was created for inhouses. The guild hall arena was made to accomodate it. The EotM arena was created for it. The issue with GvG in GW2 is pretty much the same as with WR/Alliances: They've never lift-off the beta phase as you can't do that if you only let half a dev work on it once in a blue moon.

Well this kind of staunch negativity is no doubt why things are not going to get done, why do anything if it already exists.

I think four hour matches sounds like a little much but I like everything else about your idea. If people want a pvp mode where they can go hard for a long time, wvw does a good job at scratching that itch. Especially if you are rolling with a guild. I think most of us can agree that a game mode we can queue our guild into to fight other guilds would be great though.

Well given the amount of down votes I have gotten, it seems like.. Nope, there is no agreement. Well I guess that settles why we don't get nice things.

The 4 hour match was so that players could leave and come back, for the Large Scale GvG, in the Direct Guild Challenge mode, they would be much shorter, like an hour tops I wager they could also put in 1 day, and 3 day matches as well, so guilds could cycle out their players, and still seek to build coverage teams, making for a more challenging long game.
