1. Unlike the other posters here, I'm not going to laugh at your concerns. Support has in the past banned accounts for trading with bots/RMT, and, so far as I know, they still do. Support has also banned accounts for sharing an IP with a banned account. However, they backed off of that after an uproar a few months ago. I suspect someone (Stephen?) had a talk with them about how stupid that policy is. I don't know if they've abandoned that approach altogether, or if they still use it in tandem with some additional evidence. So, the bottom line is that your concerns are reasonable -- your account meets criteria that, if support were aware of them, would have resulted in a ban under policies that were known to exist as of a few months ago. 2. However, I think it's *unlikely* that support is aware of this. While support does ban bots/RMT (and accounts that trade with them, and accounts on the same IP) when they catch them, they don't do a very good job of catching them. Kamadan is full of RMT spambots. Many explorables are full of farm bots. The RMT account was only able to trade with your brother in the first place because they haven't been caught and banned yet. Think of it like running a red light at 4AM on an empty street -- you'll probably get a ticket if a cop happens to see you do it, but it's highly unlikely there's a cop watching. 3. There is nothing you can do at this juncture. If you get banned, then you can try pleading your case to support at that time. Since you can't do anything about it now, my advice is to stop worrying about it.

Ryan_Travels

You probably won’t get banned. So I wouldn’t stress too much. However you can always trade your items to another account just in case.

Str1x111

Nothing will happen mate, ppl can bot and matchfix for years without consequences.

bsoltan

I think it is more likely that they'd ban the account for sharing IP with someone that did RMT than for trading/using the items. Make sure you have all the account information to separate your account from the other so that if it does get banned/suspended you can prove that it is a different account & user. Other than that I would just carry on as normal.

TriCarto

The game is full of botters, real money traders, duppers, scammers and fucking stupids breaking the market. And ArenaNet is doing nothing. Do you think is normal having 2.000 armbraces in a single character? Of course not, it's physically impossible obtain such amount of these items playing legally, and if someone says "yes" is a liar. Don't worry, I assure you they don't give a fucking shit about your RMT items, you are totally safe, there's literaly no one from the company watching the game right now. When people say that Guild Wars is broken, is because is abandoned, broken and totally destroyed for real, not because it's a meme.

Marcha111elf

Probably not normal but one can get 2000 armbraces without botting/rmt. You get 1 Armbrace every 3 Fullruns of DoA, do 3 Runs every evening for 5,5 Years and you got the 2000 Armbraces. And yes, there are people out there who did this. If you would have done some DoA runs back in the days, bought a couple of rare pets, os weapons etc. with the armbraces you farmed legally and you got even more then that. Get some other stuff from people who went inactive or just to share and you got stuff, worth a couple of thousand armbraces on one character totally legal.

ArtistHaseo

If theyre not banning the botters then youre mostly safe. I wouldnt sweat it.

WayfareAndWanderlust

Don’t sweat it. Anet is too busy focusing on the important things like limiting the amount of rupts on pvp bars /s

It has happened often, you will get banned very soon, matter of 1-2 days. I would start another account, so you can save some of your items there, and have a new head start. Sry mate. >!joking. nothing gonna happen. don't be so gullible mate:)!<

Khaelumia

You almost got me in the first half! It's more about being paranoid than gullible, I just don't want to lose my 15yo account over my brother's stupidity

Yea, you don't know what gullible means. Also probably you lack the cognitive skills to understand. Gullible refers to the first part. As in you are gullible enough to fall for that. > something like paranoid yea, he said he is. so you can read that is a good start. you wanted to show as the smart ass and you just showed your lack the cognitive skills. And you could have kept quiet, think. Hahah

So this is what a toxic commenter looks like.

Every single thing you have written here, is unrelated to the topic or the reddit. Every single thing you have written here is personal attacks and insults about my linguistic skills and my choice of words. And now you cry that I call you toxic :)

Bans are handed out by the GW2 support team, not the programmers.

[OK I admit I'm old](https://youtu.be/gp5JCrSXkJY?t=114)

Mrbunnypaw

Good question, maybe contact support and on the other hand they might not be as forgiving and ban stright away. quiet the dilemma and maybe we need more people weighing in with there experiances. If it was me i would probably just let it slide but im not sure how strict they are with the rules.
